I know you wrote this comment a week ago, but if you're still playing I've had a lot of success using tripwire traps that I set up in choke points or on patrol paths. Then I just bait the enemies into them, no twitch aiming required. Once I started trying this, I started being able to deal with much larger groups of enemies at once, since they spend so much time knocked down and dazed.

Probably due to the fact that I play it at the easiest level purely for the story. Later I plan to play it a few more times. but each time on a harder level

Glad I watched this. I had full tear on my bow. Luckily I’m not far in. Just started this game. Was always an Xbox player. Recently got a PS4 so I’m checking out exclusives. Any other tips are greatly appreciated!
Also if stacking arrows, with tearblast, shoot from more distant or grazing, so the arrows spread out more, causing just slightly overlapping blasts, you can blast of A LOT of armor and components with 1 triple shot.
You really have a lot of nice mods to pick from here. I'd suggest prioritizing Handling first on the weapons meant to use in the heat of combat, then maximizing Damage or Tear a sniper bow, depending on your preferred strategies. On the hardest difficulties I've had the most success with Tear from a long distance with good selection of traps and tripwires in the path the mob has to travel towards me before quickly finishing them of with bursts of 3x Hunter Bow arrows, fully charged due to the maxed out Handling trait.
Any advice for a mod set up my prefer weapons are all the bow types and the rope my shortbow and longbow is focus on damage while each has one mod for handling and my war bow is handling and full freeze lastly ropecaster all handling
@@jsmith-u5i yeah that was i thought i dont know if im doing it wrong but my usual set up is for the hunter bow one handling mod and 2 damage mod with usually as a second stat tear and fot the sniper bow handling mod and 2 damage mod with secondary stat handling

Cause I'm not taking up time to figure stuff out anymore. And I didn't mind getting a second set of the adept bows because I kinda hate having to switch out mods all the time myself. Until I get enough to have the pristine coils in both the icerail and striker bow, it's not too bad since the icerail is mostly situational to use over striker for me.
I use 3 pristine coils on my striker bow, 3 pristine coils on my blast sling and 3 pristine coils on the ice rail. You can 1 shot a death bringer with the ice rail.
Rusty Yes complete the main story quickly then figure out how to obtain the dlc coils quickly. Then create a new game plus loadout, do the main story again and the frozen wilds again and just keep doing that
Rusty You really have to enjoy the game to grind it. I really enjoy it so it takes about 3 hours to finish the story then I can do the frozen wilds in another 2 I’d say so once you do it a lot it’s pretty easy but it’s definitely not for everyone. You don’t need to do it either, it’s just something I enjoy.
first time playing this i got good mods from the behemoths farm and I have good set up already i dont have adept weps yet but i will soon. playing my first playthrough on very hard then on my new game i will go ultra hard :) i got used to this game fast.
I farmed random 3 stat coils which beat the dlc coils sometimes. My best random stat coil got 64 handling 24 dmg 16 corroption Likewise I only use 3 stat weaves on armors.

As someone who just finished the main story for the first time today, I’m stoked to grind for a load out half this good. Mods are insane, any tips for getting mods?
I'd available for through the DLC there are amazing weapons and many exclusive mods in it. Also the higher difficulty has better mods. Thunder jaws, behemoths, storm birds, rock breakers. Also in higher difficulties the purple mod gamble boxes "can" give some very high mods
Best advice is farm thunderjaws, there's one location where there isn't many machines to handle. It was north east of Meridian. Basically just turn down difficulty into story, shoot tear arrow to one of the disc launcher cannon, take it and then kill Thunderjaw with it. With story difficulty, it should be easy and enough to kill it. Quicksave at nearby bonfire, load save from menu and repeat. You should able farm a lot of purple mods. I usually do that when i first load the game and before doing mission's.
Some folks from reddit did some research and they came to this conclusion. On UH, no matter the tear stat, a thunderjaw disc launcher takes 4 tearblast arrows to tear off whereas on other difficulties it only takes 1.
Did u say tear stat has zero effect on tear last arrows? I haven't noticed or tested but I thought it would've reduced time to tip off components nah? Good to know
yes it’s because the Tear stat affects the tear damage of arrows upon impact, but since Tearblast arrows detonate one second after impact, it is unaffected.
@@JCLaw1116 it's not Aratak u need to talk at song's edge, it is Naltuk,, kill 5 fireclaws after defeating the Cauldron Fireclaw will give you a box of special coil,, other coil are from animal figure, and from the oxide pigments..

@@Panasonic5t you need to learn the skill to remove Mods. otherwise you will end up destroying the mods you place onto your weapons with another mods should you want to change stats. Do take note. Learn that skill first in your skill menu
I havnt beaten my first play through yet, should I ramp it up to ultra hard towards the end? Then new game plus abs set on story mode? Do I miss out on anything other then the increased difficulty ?
@@AMSFITNESSx Your weapons do less damage, machines and bandits crowd you… like i’m literally fighting 4 sawtooths, 6 watchers are throwing themselves at me, theres glinthawks over head, and theres one wayward ostrich thing blasting from across the battlefield, its pretty intense bro. All items are way more expensive, blaze is like 80 shards instead of 20. Enemy healthbars disappear. Oh and shieldweaver is nerfed so much it’s practically useless. Stalker tailwhips are instant death. The tear weapons are nerfed, spear knockdown chances are way less frequent. *Don’t tell nobody but I honestly rode a charger straight to Meridian as soon as I could leave Nora lands. But the game forces you to do Sona and Erend’s side missions. Best chance of doing it, beat the game twice to get the master adept weapons and armor, get all carry capacity upgrades, get a shit ton of blaze , shards, and echo shells. Get the best mods in the game, (look up behemoth cables exploit), max out handling on your bows, the forge fire is a BEAST if you have enough blaze. *To be fair to myself i’m pretty good at the game, I just don’t like bullet sponge enemies and tedium. Oh and PS turn the difficult down to easy on the stealth hunting trials. The shellwalker trial is pretty broken. You only have 1 minute to steal 6 of their crates. Hole that helps!

how do you get multiples of the same ‘special’ coil? For example how did you get 3 drummer’s weapon coil if you get only one after completing the mission?

Same took me long enough to figure it out. On wiki they said tearblast arrow is locked at 200 tear.

I was confused as to how you had quad slot weapons. But, then I seen the new game plus in the corner.
I farmed random 3 stat coils which beat the dlc coils sometimes.

You can get 65 handling , 35 dmg, 35 tear. Thats one of the best u can get i think

I use fire mods, and you don't have any mods for it. Are fire mods worst?
Best use for second hunter bow, not your main. Put all the fire mods. Mainly use for fighting corrupted machines, glinthawk, sawtooth and ravagers.

You only get 1 special mod per playthrough, so if someone has 9 of the same, they have played the game 9 times.

I was wondering too but I find the answer : you get 1 for each time you beat the game
