Based on what evidence you say it is impossible to achieve native-like pronunciation? There is in the literature cases where natives can't discern between native and non-native speakers
There have been a lot of studies regarding this issue by applied linguists. They found out that one can achieve the accuracy and fluency of a native speaker if they learn a second language at an early age. However, there is always a certain flavor of the mother tongue that intervenes. Native speakers may and may not recognize this, but linguists who study this can easily observe it.
@@RoddyBezerra I don’t disagree necessarily, but higher demands do not equate impossibility. To say that native-like levels in L2 are impossible is to say that there are fundamental structures which cannot be changed once you learn a language. Also, it implies a certain homogeneity of language (under the umbrella of being “native-like”) which is difficult to sustain based on what we know about languages. There is also the whole language attrition can of worms that has to be addressed but i frankly don’t feel like it
Some of them are explained here in the channel in applied linguistics lessons. If you need more the following books will help you: - Principles of Language Learning by Douglas Brown - First and Second Language Acquisition by Meisel Good luck
Thank you for all your lectures !!! Cheers

I think is very difficult to a non-native person get it the competence with native speakers.
