The Dash with ADHD plot could probably work in an Incredibles 3. Since Bob and Helen are very accustomed to super hero life and all the formalities and customs, it could take Dash a while to adjust to those since he’s become a prominent name in the hero industry. While Dash recognizes the purpose of stuff like damage control, power registration, and advertising, he could also call out aspects of those businesses that are selfish and scummy, but many could dismiss him. Something that I’ve been saying for years is that Rick Dicker should be a villain at some point because the Parr’s basically ruined his life, and that would fit perfectly here as he starts manipulating heroes and their fight scenes and causing casualties for personal gain (which would also be the perfect time to introduce more everyday villains like the Underminer). Other characters could empathize with Dash like Frozone who was always ahead of the scene or Voyd who’s a new hero but also can’t see the purpose behind hero customs. Just my very long 2 cents.

    • @josearielortiz2055
      @josearielortiz2055 2 роки тому +20

Rick Dicker ain’t no villain but he definitely ain’t a saint at what’s he done with the supers either. He’s done some mistakes but he means well. To define more to the plot, I think he needs to die being murdered by the villain of the movie.
About Dash, I would say he would need a teenage math tutor to help him improve his studies. And what could be even more cute is that that tutor is also his crush!

I really couldn't stand the villain in this movie, she felt so weak in comparison to Syndrome. She felt forgettable and even why she was doing what she was doing. I agree it would've been cool to see some kinda connection between her and Helen in some way from the past. Maybe even be one of the heroes that didn't save her father or something and would give Evelyn a reason to hate Helen and heroes and want to ruin what Helen loved. The concept of why Evelyn doesn't like heroes because people rely on them to much is like saying we shouldn't have, police firefighters or even doctors if they don't save someone in time. It just doesn't make a lot of sense. It be different if she maybe had a breakdown, and she wasn't all right in the head because of a trauma. but based on the movie she looked completely sane and was aware. That was just my take from it. What was great about syndrome was he was the equivalent of "never meet you heroes, because they will disappoint you" he was also a kid so it him hurt even more. He felt relatable. It felt like when you say you want to grow up to be something and then people put you down saying you could never do that. So he went to the extreme to prove a point that he could do it but lost his way along the way while also holding on to a grudge.

I think a 7 year time gap would be great for a third movie. Jack-Jack would be 8, but Dash and Violet would be so distant in age that it would be hard for them to connect. Dash could be at college, and very distracted by his workload, making it hard to connect with Jack-Jack or anyone else in the family. Meanwhile, Violet is 21 and trying to figure out how the adult world works, maybe she is balancing her job, taxes, and family life.
It could be a movie about how hard it is to keep a strong relationship with those you love while there is so much you have to do just to have financial stability. Meanwhile Jack-Jack doesn't understand why they aren't interacting with him as much as they were when he was 5 or so. All this may makes Jack-Jack feel as if it is his fault, leading him into a slump, where he thinks that he is only an inconvenience for everyone else in the family. Bob and Helen try to find a way to make Jack-Jack feel better about himself, maybe by making short term solutions, like buying him new toys, but it doesn't work in the long term.
I haven't thought of an ending for it so feel free to reply your best Idea for how the problems may be solved or how they may reach an understanding where everyone can learn an individual message about the world, tailored to their own characters.
Thank you for reading, and I apologize if the format was confusing.

Something that could add to the drama is that before, Violet was the closest to him because she's the only one with multiple powers like him, so he connect to her more because she can understand it, understand him. We could also make her discover and struggle with the fact that her having multiple powers is actually extremely rare, and her family has two of those really rare supers. She and Jack Jack (?) could be targeted because of that? Maybe a criminal organisation interested in studying them or something? And they could reconnect through this story or something, deciding to be working together as a duo later on (maybe when her youngest brother is an adult himself, or at least a teenager? Dunno).

I think the best way to fix the Villain is to make the villain the rich dude character instead of his sister. Make it so that he’s creating threats and putting people in danger so that he can fulfill his goal of reviving the supers by any means necessary. That way the ending with supers being legalized again is more ambiguous because technically he still wins. Imagine the guy being put into a police cruiser but he’s laughing and cheering because he still accomplished his goal.

ever since the movie came out, the fact that Evelyn had the potential to be a great villain just bothered me. I feel like she could easily tie into the continuity set up by the first movie if her motivation was that she was reacting to what Syndrome did by using him as an example like "see what all this idealization of heroes does to people?"
I think that in combination with the themes of public perception and striving for a healthy balance between personal life and being a hero could have easily made it just as good as the original if all those plot points were focused well.

Speaking of Dash. He really loves sports, and if you get D's or F's in your classes, the sports team isn't gonna allow you to participate in sports activities. It would be both embarrassing and sad. Maybe Dash could have bullies who are jealous of him make fun of him for being 'dumb' or something. Maybe a former teacher or classmate Dash did pranks on is getting back at him. So, not only is Dash afraid of failing and ending up like his dad did, but also fears losing doing the things he loves.

If they kept that then Tony could've helped the family's image as a civilian and act as the first step upwards. He'd be great too in supporting Violet too.
Also at the end of the first movie they basicly gave us the impression that supers had once again been legalized and the family was all alright with leaping into action.

I'll take for instance Helen's view on supers and superpowers. In the first one she was against it, then when they were in danger she was forced to allow them and they thrived. Even letting Dash start doing sports and then doing hero work afterwards.
But then in the next movie she's against all of it again. Infact i don't even think this Helen would allow Dash to do sports.

Incredibles 3: make Tony sacrifice himself for Violet. Of course, Tony can survive, but it would draw upon something Incredibles did well; Syndrome was morally right in his beliefs. Tony, a kid with no powers, saved a Super when they couldn’t defend themselves. I think you can make Incredibles 3 about responsibility, like that people can’t push their problems on Supers, because they can make a difference.

Hey Danny I’ve thought about some of the things and here’s how to do some changes to Incredibles 2 first the Villian the villian is called Medusa and has stone powers it’s basically the same thing some character same ties to the plot except for one detail. During the robbery Elsstigirl shows up and saves her and her brother but Elastigirl fails to save her dad. Also their could be some scenes where Medusa does make her choose who to save and one of the biggest examples of that would be at the climax. So elastigirl is holding on too a train full of people while Medusa is fighting Dash and Violet don’t ask how we got here we just are. So then Medusa manages to capture Violet and starts tiring her to stone so Dash runs over to help his sister and Medusa starts turning him into stone Medusa tells elastigirl she now has to chooses between saving her children or saving the train full of people. Elastigirl tries to pull up the train but realizes she can’t then Elastigirl tries to release one limb to maybe hit Medusa put she can’t as she’s putting everything she has just to hold the train up the screams of the people in the train are heard along with the screams of Dash and Violet trying desperately to get out put they can’t both the kids start crying and so does Elastigirl because she doesn’t know what to do finally with tears running down her face she says I’m sorry, I’m so sorry and she lets go off the train and the people scream as they plummet to their death then Elastigirl grabs Medusa and snaps her neck saving Dash and Violet and they all hug as it is revealed that everyone watched the train fall. So that’s what would’ve liked to do I’m sorry if it’s not that good grammatically and thank you for reading this.

Pictures this. Throughout the movies we see the algebra scene but we also see Dash ask everyone around him about it and when Bob finally goes into Dashes room he sees posters for a show and say “I didn’t know you like that…” “yeah the third movie came out least week some of my classmates went to see it.” and Bob just stands there realizing he doesn’t know his own kids and just repeats “I didn’t know…” he walks downstairs and looks around the house, at the mess, and a sleeping Jack Jack and Violet after she calms him down. He goes to Violets and sees some of the things she likes. We see Bob come to accept that he needs to learn how to be there for his kids and we a close up shot of him picking up the algebra book from the table and head to his room. Then a shot outside the house, all the lights off but one slowly turn into morning. Then we follow Dash and Violet walk downstairs to see a clean house, a happy Jack Jack, and Bob making breakfast, not the best but he put a lot of effort into it. Maybe some burnt bacon and eggs on his own plate that were his first attempt and didn’t want to waste. They eat and he says it’s the weekend so do they have any plans and Violet wants to go out but she can stay and watch Jack Jack and he says no it’ll be alright and to be safe and gives her a hug as she smiles and goes to get ready. Leaving Dash and Bob at the table, dash says he has homework so he’ll be in his room and bob says he’ll help, to which dash goes “don’t worry it’s algebra I’ll call mom and see if she can help.” Bob smiles and says “don’t worry I did some homework of my own, I can help.” And we get a sweet scene of Bob holding Jack Jack in one arm and pointing on the page helping Dash with algebra in the other. Maybe the problem they trouble with comes up in the final battle and he has to solve a problem and when he disarms or fixes whatever it is, Bob just says “wasn’t just math” while out of breath. idk I like that idea

Oh my goodness, THANK YOU DANNY!! For not only saying what the movie needed, but also for including that deleted neighborhood barbeque scene, I freakin' LOVE that clip. If they had revolved the themes of the sequel around Helen as you suggested, it would've been a really good parallel from the first film's opening.
Elastigirl's intro makes her relatable as a woman in a male dominated profession, so understandably her mind is far away from raising a family and giving up what she loves doing. But if the deleted scene had been the opening for the sequel, just as the first film's interview was our intro to Elastigirl the hero, this would've been our intro to Helen Parr, first time mom and former hero, making a stance for women like herself who held similar views like that snobby neighbor but have matured.

During the development of the first film the villain was supposed to be a guy named Xerek who was Elastigirl’s ex boyfriend who was obsessed with her maybe he could be the villain you talked about and be just be re worked. Like he could be someone who she saved but in the process didn’t save his wife and then He blames her and becomes obsessed with her and becomes the riddler/joker type villain you mentioned. Just a thought though awesome video.

What I would have loved to see is them tackling a very complex matter - somebody who does bad things in the name of good.
Basically give the movie a villain that constantly displays that the government is incompetent and the police failing while the superheroes are their biggest asset. This would have been an interesting challenge - the heroes have a chance to get legalized again if the public realizes that their current protectors fail them; so they have to ask themselves whether to accept the help of a villain doing bad things for a good reason or to stop the villain.

Disney/Pixar is going through a pretty rough patch right now in terms of quality, so while I would like to see an 'Incredibles 3' at some point, I'd prefer they wait another few years.
That being said, what would I want? I think I'd want them to go up against someone who wasn't directly tied to them. Syndrome was a deranged superhero fanboy; Screenslaver was hated superheroes - there's not much more to be done with that theme. I'd like to see the family go up against a more traditional, money-and-power based supervillain - or, better yet, let's have our cake and eat it, too. Have them go up against a traditional supervillain FAMILY.
Picture this. There's been a timeskip (which I agree with you needs to happen), and the kids are taking more active roles. Jack-Jack is now the 'Dash' of the family, the hyperactive little kid (I would tone down the all-the-powers business, making that more of a super-baby thing that goes away as you get older - but still let him keep one or two powers that are really, REALLY powerful, like laser-vision that could blow up a mountain if he's not careful; something like that, so he's still a handful); Dash himself is kind of like a 'Johnny Storm' type, a cocky teenager who's maybe a LITTLE too full of himself, and Violet is going to community college, but still living at home. Bob and Helen are staying a bit more in the background these days, with Helen usually being a bit more of a 'mission coordinator', keeping everyone connected through a camera/microphone set-up, while Bob still goes out into the field to play backup. Frozone also still helps out from time to time when he can, but he's recently started focusing on climbing the corporate ladder (we never did find out what his job was, and he seems fairly well off, so it's not too implausible), so he can't always make it.
Bob is struggling with the fact that he's now in late middle age, and just can't handle the action stuff the way he used to - he's just a little bit too old to just work out a lot and make a comeback, like he did in the first film. Sure, he's still a superhero, and he loves being a superhero, and he loves that his kids are superheroes, but all he really wants to do is get back into the thick of the action again, and he can't really do that anymore. What's more, Dash and Violet are growing a bit apart from him, as kids tend to do when they get older and start having lives of their own; Helen just doesn't want to go through all this business again, and he worries that their marriage might be in trouble, and his relationship with Frozone has started to go downhill lately because he thinks he recognizes some of the soulless corporate attitude in him that made his life so miserable in the first movie (and secretly, Frozone himself is a little worried that Bob might have a point). His relationship with Jack-Jack (though just 'Jack' now) is still good, since his youngest hero-worships his dad, and often acts as his 'sidekick', but he's worried that he's not living up to his son's elevated image of him (especially since Jack himself is now vastly more powerful than he is).
Overall, poor ol' Bob is just not doing too well at the moment. Fortunately, he finds a new pal - another guy about his age who he runs into on the golf course or something, and gets into a conversation with. This guy (let's call him 'Al') also has a family, and relates completely to what Bob tells him about his own. Bob thinks he may have run across another superhero, though, of course, he can't just ask him outright about it. (I'd have it be, not only incautious, but a major social faux pas to directly reveal your secret identity - society still has some issues from back in the 'superheroes were illegal' days.)
So the two families start hanging out, and they get along like a house on fire. They have barbecues together; Dash gets a major crush on Al's daughter, etc. Both families, though, are just a little cagey with the other about certain aspects of their lives, and Bob figures that this is proof positive that they're both super-families. A good thing, too, because a legendary villain team has recently been tearing up the city, and the Incredibles could use the help. (Frozone is of little help there, because he's super-miffed with Bob right now - Al is a major rival of his at work, and he feels hurt that his oldest friend is taking his enemy's side.)
You can probably guess where this is going, right? Yep. It turns out that, when Bob finally confronts Al about teaming up together, that Al and his family are, in fact, supervillains. THEY'RE the Team Evil that's been raiding Metroville, and now that they know that the Parrs are actually the Incredibles, the scene is set for a major showdown. Except that both sides now regard the other as friends. What's to be done?
I think you could get into some really interesting territory with a premise like that. Growing old, father-son relationships, friendships getting strained with time, teenage problems - and, of course, the age-old hero/villain dichotomy. I would throw in lots of little conversations between the two families that show the difference between their two viewpoints: they both believe in keeping their families safe and doing what's best, but it turns out that while Bob believes in doing the right thing for both his family and the community, Al believes in doing the right thing for his family and loved ones first and foremost, which for him means making sure they're sitting pretty with as much money and power as possible. The two positions are actually pretty close in some ways, but there are important differences - some good stuff to chew on there, I'd say.

It was really cool to hear your thoughts on this movie, and what they could had added to it. Though I think why some themes were dropped were due to production issues, things behind the scenes, that kind of stuff (like with any great movie that gets a sequel) and how they wanted to go about it. Also, I'm going to be a devil's advocate in saying that I (and probably others) would like to know what your fave moments/characters in the first and second movie of Indrectibles are, and what you'd like if they do make a 3rd Incredibles movie. My fav character is Edna because she is perfect in both films and no one will change my mind on that.

Your suggestion to have made Dash struggle with ADHD and wanting to avoid letting his power be what defines his self worth legit spoke to me. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 17 (my dad never got evaluated so we had no idea it was in the family), but up until then, I wondered what was wrong with me and why I couldn’t focus on anything in school.
I was known as the artist of my family and class; I spent so many years letting that define who I was since it was all I knew I was good at. Then, when I was 16, I met someone who helped me realize that my artistic abilities was only one of my skills, and that I had much more to offer. Now, as someone in college, I’m finally medicated, getting good grades, and studying to become a forensic psychologist.
To summarize, had Pixar done what you just suggested, it would have made him incredibly relatable and impactful to me, and so many other kids and adults who were struggling, or had struggled in the past, with similar experiences.

One thing that both movies have in common is that the main villain never has powers, I think for the third movie having a actual super powered individual be the bad guy is a good idea because it would allow for them to be able to actually just beat up the main characters and make them more intimidating. Also as far as we’ve seen there hasn’t been any real SUPER villains, only SUPER hero’s. Like isn’t it strange that EVERY single person with powers just HAPPENS to be a hero.

I did actually like the second move but I do agree with EVERYTHING you said. They should have focused more on Helen’s flexibility symbolism. Have her fail to save Evelyn’s parents in the beginning of the movie and have that be Evelyn’s motivation to become a villain. Have Helen be pushed by Screen Slaver (Brain Teaser is a better name if we’re going down this path) and have her finally fail once to save another person after several attempts from the villain
Have Evelyn and Winston’s relationship be more strained because he’s willing to forgive Helen when Evelyn isn’t. Have the final dilemma be between saving Bob and saving the kids. The eternal question for Incredibles 2 shouldn’t have been “Is technology bad for you?” But rather “How much are you willing to sacrifice for your loved ones?”
(And like…..if we’re REALLY gonna mirror Bob’s story……have more tension between Helen and Evelyn-)

I would actually like a Incredibles TV series dealing with more supers maybe exploring the history of how supers came about was it a my hero academia situation where somome was just born with powers one day? I think this could be a focus of maybe a third movie like Bob is sent back in time and he has to team up with you parents who were supers themselves maybe even some of the first. Or it could be the focus of a first season and the rest of the family is trying to get Bob back to their time and things keep changing. We find out at the end of the first season that the time line was been very damaged and now in season two the family is going to have to fix everything. Mr. Incredible doesn’t have superhuman strength, but superhuman endurance which has the side effect of giving him superhuman strength. This is shown in the test short where he’s paying more attention to his wife defending parenthood to the point of nearly blowing their cover, and not to the steel butcher knife he’s cutting meat at the cookout with. He brings down the blade onto his fingers and a lady screams in horror, snapping him back to the reality that he bent the steel around his fingers, so he has to quickly find ketchup and throw the damaged knife away so nobody realizes they are retired superheroes. Back to the Dash lesson you were mentioning, he could teach his son that he isn’t super strong by intentionally trying to chop his fingers off with a steel butcher knife to the detriment of his blade. Then, he could say that he has his limits, showing the tungsten omnidroid scar that he got in the cut from the last film. Then show Dash that the important thing is to know your limits, but look to surpass them beyond what you think is possible, and that the way to do that isn’t always the easiest or the most obvious way of to do things. Case in point, Bob couldn’t figure out his son’s math because they changed it, but he doesn’t give up. He figures out why it changed, the differences between the two systems and how to translate his math skills to the homework. Dash And Bob figure out how Dash thinks through trial and error, and they eventually get Dash to pass the test, adding to Bob’s arc of learning to be less stubborn by stubbornly flexible by looking for a different perspective on things like, for instance, his family. Plus, Dash could help Bob with this using his ADHD, using turning his inability to stay focused on one problem into the ability to chip away at a bunch of small parts of problems of a bigger goal.
Also, I came up with this Venn diagram of their roles based on D&D:
    Bob

    * Controller: A class specialized in effects which damage or hinder multiple enemies; "crowd control" or "CC", in better-known video game parlance.

It’s been a while since I’ve watched this movie so bare with me cuz I’m going off of my memory here but I think in the movie there was a brother and sister with the sister being the villain. I remember as an early teen watching the movie and being convinced that the brother was the villain solely because the sister would be too obvious considering she was always ominously in the shadows and the brother had just as much motive (something I also predicted because it was obvious). But no, it was just the obvious one. I think if they wanted the surprise villain thing, they should have made it significantly more subtle along with everything Danny said in this video. I get that it’s a kids movie but this one definitely felt more patronising when I watched it

I definitely enjoyed watching the second one more in theaters (not really a fair comparison I don’t remember the first time I watched the first one) but the first one will always be my favorite. The soundtrack, the themes, how everything just overlaps and fits together nicely, the action and superheroes, how you don’t appreciate all that until you’re older. My two favorite Disney movies both happen to be superhero ones, the incredibles, and big hero 6... which you should definitely check out. It takes place in a mix of San Francisco and Tokyo, has beautiful animation, amazing characters, is emotional and dark, and it’s about some tech geniuses so I guess I’m bias since I’m interested in engineering. I checked out your channel and I think you would like it
