The Fly One came so close to being a great balisong. The feel of the handles is great, the construction is great, some people disliked the zen nipple, but I loved it because it doubles as a bite side indicator in a really subtle way. Only downfall of it for me is it being the most uncomfortable Chaplin experience ever.
Yeah the zen cups are the only thing wrong with that knife lol Depending on your fingers the tricks still work, it's just uncomfortable like you said. But I imagine if you had really small thin fingers, this could prevent you from doing some tricks entirely. It's kind of surprising it made it all the way to production that way, but the fix would be so easy and wouldn't affect the blade profile by minimizing the zen cup gap the tiniest amount on the spine of the blade.

Love em or hate em, if I had to pick only one major bali brand, these are my boys. The Tali Z is still my favorite knife even after flipping several grails, and a collection of 30 balis in tow. The UFO looks like a really fun and affordable toy for those of us who are interested in exploring everything we can do with the flipping hobby. Misguided Mall Ninjas who think somebody looking cool with a sharp object in a movie translates to themselves looking cool doing it in real life are going to crap on it, and already have on socials. The tanto bushings Tali Z is really nice looking and it's inevitable I have to purchase one, but I'm going wait and hope that they eventually offer the new blade on classic bearings instead. And hey, for the price, the Zenith trainer is looking pretty decent as well. Love the iconic zenith trainer shape, but wish the design on the face of the handles was something else. Either way it's also dirt cheap, so they're getting my money anyhow. Loved what they had to show off this year at blade show! Thank you so much for giving those of us stuck at home an overview of their table. Hopefully I'll just be there in person next year.

And even trainers in public could get you in trouble. But that being complete bladeless. Bad thing is I bet it is going to cost us a lot more than 18 dollars.
