What a great way to mash up the garlic. I've used a knife all these years. Your way is so much better. The soup looks great. And I need to get me one of those fancy soup spoons!
+YumYucky when I have a lot of garlic to chop, I find it easier to just smash it. Thank you for the nice comments :-)

+Danish & Aniko Thanks for the kind words :-)
If I want to use cilantro roots instead how many would I use?
2 or 3 will be good 😊
Thank you for the amazing explenation, i'm just trying to improve my thai cooking (love thailand, love thai cook!)! Have a question: what' the name of the first vegetable you put in the pot with the meet? And the name of the big white vegetable? I'm trying this in italy, hope to find the stuff!! Thank you again nice channel🙂
That first item in the pot right after the meat was cilantro stems. In Thailand we use cilantro root, but I have a hard time finding it in the US, so I used cilantro stems as an alternative.
I will look for it thank you again🙏🏼🙏🏼🙂
really like your cooking style. Could you please tell me which brand your stove is?
Thank you so much. The stove is GE.
would glutinous rice would work as well with this one?
Hi, and thanks for the great question. I have only ever made this dish with jasmine rice, so I don't know if it will work the same way with a different type of rice. I am sure you can make rice soup with other types of rice, but I am not sure if following this exact recipe would work out or not.
Can you use beef ribs as well ?
Yes you can :-)
I am from Singapore and I stayed in Bangkok for 4 years, really miss this taste.. It's so difficult :( can I make the broth already keep it in the fridge and pour to rice Tml morning? If I have to start from scratch... I have to wake up 2hrs earlier 😭
You probably will be OK to make the broth first and save it. I have never tried it like that, but I think it would be ok. I have always want to travel to Singapore, I hope I will one day.
Spoon Fork Heart hey pls come to Singapore! I will bring u around, I can speak fluent Thai :D anyway, thanks for the reply! U r awesome, and I'm subscribing to your channel! 😀
Thank you so much for your super kind offer. I just got back from Thailand last month, and probably won't be going on another trip the the region until later on in the year. If we make our way to Singapore, I will let you know. I would love to see the local food spots :-)
