it wasn't about the coup per say but a scheme to recruit and promote certain correct" persons/tribe ".. generally if an institution is led by uneducated person he will try to either safeguard his office with right minded person's or recruit, train and promote cronies in a very fast pace while at the same time sack any "wrong face" around or better still Mark time one on the same rank until you walk away on free will.that was Gen Mohamed.
This man with high level of education then and training has a story which he isn't saying..he should have been promoted a bit higher than major... this are the kind of officer's which Gen Mohamed made sure are sacked quietly..
his legacy can be summarized rampant corruption, nepotism, hatred and animosity among personnel, low morale, military equipment and hardware been obsolete without replacement, serious housing shortages (all barracks used to have junior personnel sleep in tent's within the barracks), dinner mess food shortages/poor quality and high dismissal rates from the force...
The KDF had very qualified personnel but from 1983-1990.. most had been sacked quietly especially non kalenjins..
Why non Kalenjins? Were they part of a prior coup or what?
