Constipated Cats

In this session, Dr. Judy discusses constipation in cats. She shares the various conditions that may cause a cat to have constipation. My cat is 10 years old and became constipated midsummer last year. He didn't poo for almost two weeks, by the time I was able to get him into my vet. He loved his dry food, but I switched him to Fancy Feast pate and added water to make sure he was getting even more moisture. He's done better, but still isn't normal in his stools, so I occasionally give him miralax. I'll look into where I can get the dang guicongrong & try that. I'd rather him have a natural aid, not a manmade one.

Does anyone have any creative ideas on how to get the Dang Gui Cong Rong into the cat ? I was able to just mold the catnip flavored pill pockets over the 200 mg capsules but now he’s either getting wise to it or getting tired of the catnip pill pockets. The He’s never liked any of the other flavor pill pockets.

Usually 0.5 gm per 10 pounds body weight twice daily.

Judy Morgan Thank you for the information. Was giving him 0.4 twice a day I will bump it up. He has megacolon and I’m still trying to figure out whether high fiber or low there’s so much conflicting information out there. So appreciate your videos and the information you provide, thank you so much.
