I live an hour and a half south of Helen. I love to visit during Christmas and during the hot summer months and tube float down the Chattahoochee River.
If you want to come back to Georgia, and we hope you do, you might want to consider Dahlonega, also north of ATL, or Savannah. A lot of people do not realize that Georgia has the mountains (lots of hiking) and the coast (Savannah, Jekyll Island, Brunswick, etc.). And of course, my home town of Athens, home of the Dawgs!
I never heard of Helen, Georgia but it did not disappoint! Wow! The lights, the ambiance, the restaurants, the coaster but especially your adorable twins made it an absolute gem. I can’t wait to see where you guys go next year!
Twice in one day I've heard about these "boiled peanuts" after never ever hearing about them! lol So cute and special how the boy (I think, going from memory) thought the leaves were sparkly when it was just ice...very imaginative! Those kids are the sweetest & cutest kids! I also loved how fast they wanted to go...braver than me! lol
Helen Georgia is an interesting town. I've been there twice. I highly recommend going to St. Augustine, Florida during the holidays. The nation's oldest city really goes all out for the holidays! There's Christmas lights and decorations EVERYWHERE!! It's so beautiful!
Wow!! Awesome you checked out Helen, live an hour south. They don't stop celebrating, after Christmas decor is up till Fasching which I understand is a German celebrating holiday. There is also some great hiking trails nearby. So happy you made the Trip! CHARLESTON has an Amazing Christmas Drive. Thanks so much for Visiting, Happy Holidays!!
"It tastes like a seasoned pinto bean" - ah ha ha! I agree. We spent a lot of time in Georgia in the last 3 years, but just didn't make it to Anna Ruby Falls or Helen! Georgia has so much to see & do, but we travel with our big Lab, so... So fun to see your kids - my niece has 8 year old twins. McAdenville near Charlotte, NC has incredible lights!
Glad to see you’re traveling and videoing with the whole family now. We did Helen a couple years ago, but definitely found Leavenworth more magical. Solvang is still the best for the Holidays🎄
I’m a Southern person and I’ve never heard of Anna Ruby Falls!! Been to Helen a couple of times! First video of you and your sweet family I’ve ever seen!! I’m used to seeing your Dad with you!!
I really enjoyed watching your family have a wonderful time in Helen. It looks gorgeous similar to Solvang. I would love to see your family enjoy Dahlonega. It looks gorgeous by the pictures
You went at a good time. I watched another UA-camr a few weeks ago who visited Helen, and it was way too crowded. My husband, son and I went there around 1984 in the summer. We also went to Dahlonega to the gold museum and to Tallulah Gorge where Deliverance was filmed. The gorge was awesome! Have a wonderful Christmas!
Thank you, Josh and family! Me and my husband experienced Helen around Oktoberfest, we never have the opportunity to go for Christmas. We had a nice cabin by the river. Did they have horse and buggy carriage rides during that time? There were some areas that it looked like the land that time forgot.😂 there was also a meat jerky store that served any type of jerky imaginable.. thank you and merry Christmas
Helen is a wonderful little town! I spent several nights in a windmill there a few years ago in September! I'd love to see it in all it's Christmas finery in person. Thank you for sharing!
I hope to one day see you making videos with your children the way you make videos with your dad! Your children are adorable!! Edit I love boiled peanuts!!
As a German it’s always so interesting to see these Germany inspired towns and their… let’s say interesting twists on the German cuisine 😆 Loved the video as always😍
I've lived a short drive away from both Leavenworth WA & Helen, GA. Both are great places to visit but I like Leavenworth more. However, North Georgia is one of the nicest places to live and explore that I've ever lived and I've been all over.
The twins have shot up since last spring! I've never been to Helen, GA. I was always passing through too early or late in the day. I miss going to Hastings Ranch in Pasadena every year for Christmas lights. That was 30-40 years ago.
Too bad you didn't make it to Jolly's toys-it's the best and so is Jolly. I used to work there in college when it was by the river. Your kids would have LOVED it, homemade toys and many unique toys.
Helen is one of my most favorite places to visit. One day you need to visit Cleveland , GA. It’s not too far from Helen. It’s the home of Babyland General Hospital and the birthplace of the Cabbage Patch Kids. It’s fun to see even if you’re an adult. Another recommendation is going to, The Dillard House. It’s a neat place to stay and go horseback riding in the mountains. The restaurant used to be good to eat at but it’s kinda went downhill. Next year you need to go to Old St. Charles, MO and see both Legends and Lanterns and Christmas Traditions. I highly recommend both. If you go you must get a Chocolate Chip cookie from Grandma’s Cookies. It’s life changing and you’ve never had a chocolate chip cookie like it before, trust me.
My suggestion for next Christmas would be Frankenmuth Michigan. Whether you have been there before or not it would be nice to see it documented on your channel. Safe travels ✌🏻🙂
My husband and I visited here one Christmas and didn't know that it was like this! When we drove in in the middle of the night we thought we were hallucinating or something!😂
Christmas Tree Lane, Alameda California was a fun Christmas visit. I hear Solvang is good too but haven't been. Here in Ontario, Stratford, niagara-on-the-lake and Blue Mountain are pretty cool at Christmas
I'm from South Carolina and my family all comes from Georgia but I've never made it to Helen. I live in Seattle, though, so we're regular visitors to Leavenworth. And I've never acquired a taste for boiled peanuts
We were there some years ago for Oktoberfest , enjoyed the German food and festivities, and enjoyed the Elvis impersonator at a theatre show there, not sure they are still doing that or if they still have that theatre venue there if so let me know ? We stayed overnight in dahlonega Georgia , wondering were through the lens family stayed, let me know we may want to do the Christmas event there next year there 👍👍
Very interesting, had to look it up on the map. What is the ranking here for the best Christmas towns? How many are there? haha I have only done Solvang / Leavenworth / Vail
This is SO much better than watching the news
Amen!!!! Uplifting!!!
I live an hour and a half south of Helen. I love to visit during Christmas and during the hot summer months and tube float down the Chattahoochee River.
God bless you for having your children pick up trash on the trail and God bless them for doing it. I believe those lessons will last for a lifetime.

Your children!!! They’re so so precious!!! What wonderful video!!! Made me so happy!!! I love them “ Cheer phone!”
“Cheers tree” Lovely family
My very favorite part of being a parent is watching my child enjoy the world through her own perspective. She’s also 4.
Omg the twins are cuteness personified 😂❤
Love the sparkly shiny leaves! The best way to see the world is definitely through the eyes of children 😊
It's really so beautiful when there's frost... it's like the earth is covered in glitter!!
I never heard of Helen, Georgia but it did not disappoint! Wow! The lights, the ambiance, the restaurants, the coaster but especially your adorable twins made it an absolute gem. I can’t wait to see where you guys go next year!
What adorable kids! Loved to see their faces beaming with joy. Beautiful beautiful video❤❤
German food is definitely appropriate for the colder months! I love the Christmas displays in these smaller towns.
Merry Christmas, and thanks for taking us along. Love seeing your beautiful family having fun.

"Dad go faster!" lol
Looks like lots of fun for the family. 😊
My gf says the same thing...😮

Love Helen, GA. Been there twice but not at Christmas time. Can't wait to go back!

It's Christmas time
Great video friends.
That is such a great adventure for the kids
Have a great week guys
Being a Californian, but spending a bit of time in No Georgia, I always thought of Helen as Solvang with a “twang!”
Beautiful, Thank You for Sharing, Merry Christmas 🐪🙏
Our home county,we love Helen and go often.
We are planning a trip Dec 20-23rd. Will it still be busy with Christmas festivities, food, and people or was that just when vendors are there?
My kids loved the blackberry cider from Fred's, we like fried peanuts but not boiled. Helen is a very fun town. Lots to do in the area.
I haven’t been there in years. TFS. Merry Christmas.🎄🎁 😊❤
I have seen this on Tik Tok and so glad you did a video on it! This is amazing and we are definitely adding it to our list. Thanks Josh!!!!

Was surprised to hear "Bodensee" in the video, since I'm from the actual Bodensee 😁 Great Video, as always!

Thanks for bringing us to beautiful Helen, Georgia! What a very sweet town😊

Too funny, i grew up not far from Helen, I've spent many Christmas moments there's
Great video!! Tip when eating the boiled peanuts….eat the shell and all…just pop it in your mouth.
Next try the Golden Isles of Georgia specially Jekyll Island has a fantastic Christmas light display.
We're hoping to take in the Biltmore next Christmas in Asheville NC
Josh, there are several Swiss towns like Helvetia, WV, Little Switzerland, NC & New Glarus, WI...Also Solvang, CA for a Danish twist
I'm from South Carolina and my family all comes from Georgia but I've never made it to Helen. I live in Seattle, though, so we're regular visitors to Leavenworth. And I've never acquired a taste for boiled peanuts
Frankenmuth, Michigan
You know just an hour down the road is an ACTUAL hallmark movie town. Dahlonega Ga was used to film a Christmas Hallmark movie a few years ago.
I looooove Helen! I have been there a whole bunch of times. 8hr drive from our home in West Central Florida. Great fun, winter and summer.
gotta come check out McAdenville, NC. Christmastown USA
You and your family should come to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo.
You should have gone to Cleveland GA about 10 minutes away to see cabbage patch babyland general.

You should do a video about Rt 99 😊

Been there…nice area but the food wasn’t the greatest. Don’t miss Covington, GA if you’re still in the Atlanta area.
Visit Grapevine Texas the Christmas capital
