Any guitarist who borrows an 8-string guitar from Tosin Abasi to match the colour of his wife's hair deserves our respect! 🙂

The Mara Effect live at Silverside Sound - the early masterpiece of Spiritbox. You know why you never forget this epos once you heard it? Because IT'S THE EFFECT OF THE MARA! (Everyone who ever watched it, will instantly get what this means.) Best 16 min. you can ever spend on Spiritbox.

After just one song you think they're ready for the Mara Effect at Silverside?! Maybe because they are musicians they might be ready. As for me, I listen to that almost every day! lol

I think you need to do Holy Roller next from them, it's the song that got me into them, it's probably one of their heaviest song and has an awesome bouncy riff!🤘🤘🤘🤘

Someone finally said it. Her voice is incredibly Pop/R&B-oriented. Songs like 'Trustfall' and 'The Summit' highlight this the most

a couple of the songs from the Eternal Blue album sound like they could take the vocals and make them R&B songs. Eternal Blue and We Live In a Strange World and The Summit come to mind right away.

I discovered Spiritbox at about the same time as Jinjer near the end of 2021 and just like with Jinjer, I immediately loved their music because of their great songwriting and musicianship and Courtney's fantastic vocals. I would check out Courtney's "live one take vocal performance" video for this song because it really shows off her vocal talents, including a couple of cool quick clean/harsh vocal transitions near the end which you don't hear as well in this studio version because of layering. A couple other Spiritbox songs I'd recommended are Blessed Be (mix of clean and harsh vocals), Secret Garden (all clean vocals)), their slower tear-jerker song Constance (all clean vocals) and if you want a heavier song with a cool groove, Holy Roller (all harsh vocals). I'd recommend the official videos for all those songs.

It is interesting that you read the comment about the 5 year old girl loving this song and wanting to scream like Courtney, because there is Harper (currently 11) who did learn how to scream (her step dad is a metal singer and she does have vocal coaches so she is doing it safe). The one that started it all for Harper, when she was 9, was her cover of Spiritbox's Holy Roller (Spiritbox is her favourite band), which went semi-viral on UA-cam, she performed it on America's Got Talent at age 10 (you can find clips but there are likely copywrite issues as almost no one reacts to it), and then live on stage with Spiritbox ( ua-cam.com/video/ZTzSi5lseWk/v-deo.html ). She has released a single and has posted other covers on her UA-cam channel. She is the Future of Metal.

They're earlier stuff is more djenty and progressive and totally killer and their later stuff is more similar to this I would say but you never know what you will get with this band. Apart from suggesting you check out everything they have put out, I would suggest trying Sun Killer next. It's the first song off their first full length album Eternal Blue and as far as opening tracks go I think it's nearly perfect at setting the tone for the album.

Also they just put out a new song with their new bassist which is Josh(formerly of As I Lay Dying). Will be cool to see how they use his clean vocals too in the future. He's been touring with them for a Lil while but just officially joined the band. They have a song with Sam from Architects and Josh does his clean vocal parts live

Glad you decided to react to Spiritbox from the suggestions in your Jinjer reactions. And yes. The band has some "catchy" and "pop-e-ness" to the vocals in this track and a number of others. Not a bad thing IMO. I almost get some 1990's Garbage vibes from the band in some of their music as well as the Deftones. Courtney LaPlante has said Def Tones 2000 album White Pony is an imporant or big one for her, and I know from interviews the band has said Protest the Hero, Depeche Mode, and Tears for Fears as some of their influences.
You are going to get a lot of recommendations to do "Holy Roller" and it is one of their heavier songs if not their heaviest. The official video is cool, but I'd recommend the SiriusXM Liquid Metal "Metal Detector" Live Show (Pt.1) which features two tracks "Holy Roller" and "Rule of Nines" ... "only" around 7 minutes in length.
It keeping with the theme of Jinjer and Spiritbox, I'd also still continue plug and suggest a lesser known Swedish group called Kassogtha which started in 2018 consisting of Stéphanie Huguenin as the lead singer who flips between harsh and clean vocals like Jinjer's Tatiana, Mortimer Baud on guitar and backing vocals, Martin Burger on guitar, Valerian Burki on bass, and Dylan Watson on the drums. For first listen of Kassogtha, I'd go with the official live video of "Complacency," which you can find on Kassogtha's official UA-cam channel.

Their song "Holy Roller" kind of reminds me of Ministry with the musicality. It has an industrial metal feel. The entire Official Video was done with an iPhone and cost next to nothing since they made all the props and costumes. I still love Tatiana more, but Courtney is pretty bad-ass.
