- Members of the European Parliament debated a major report that calls for swift action to make the EU economy more competitive. Its author, former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, says the EU is lagging behind the US and China amid sluggish growth, high energy prices and threats to its security.
He told MEPs in Strasbourg an extra €800 billion of annual investment is needed to boost innovation, protect living standards and preserve the European way of life.
Many MEPs welcomed his call for action, some demanding more support for key industries and the green and digital transformations. Others argued for freer markets and warned measures to fight climate change can harm economic growth.

We are so far behind. Microsoft alone is as big as the entire EU tech sector.
That is sad, a United European Union must form ASAP to be able to catch up!
Implementation timing?
I would advise the representatives of the European Parliament, if they want to increase competitiveness, to fire Von Der Leyen with immediate effect and to hold all current and 4 years ago leaders to account and convict them of treason and corruption
How the heck is spending 800 Bill € yearly is possible if the EU is not one country?!
I’m planning to be millionaire. But….still planning…..

Draghi Report on " EU Competitiveness" and VonderLeyen " Clean Industrial Deal " must be put into Action right now : Europe must build own AI GPU , software stack and massive Training the Youth, or it won't make it. Right now Electric Farm Equipment, Agrivoltaics, Desalination, Smart Electric Grid , Cathodes for EU Batteries, etc. must be a top priority. Look what USA top CEO' s are telling the White House: America must be top AI or it will lose Industrial Competition to India and China. Also remembering that Neocon Oligarchs want to steal EU & USA Aviation and Jet Engines industries to the Middle East and Indo - Asia.
Copy Switzerland. There is no need for big report with empty wishes.
I see no one is watching these european oligarchs
At least a Russian bot is watching it :)
