Did you try contact cement to attach it instead of the brads? It’s really good for attaching things that normally you can’t glue together.
HDPE is considered a low surface energy plastic, nothing really likes to stick to it including contact cement. Best option is certain epoxies and cyanoacrylates but best to use a purpose designed primer first.
Isn’t that a jointer that you ran it over, not a “planer”?
@@JohnColgan. But that work piece could not be “flattened” using the machine that is commonly called a “planer”.
@@JohnColgan. technically not quite the same. A jointer will always make a flat surface. A planer is more for setting thickness and making the two opposite sides parallel, but if the opposite face of your wood is not flat, it will transfer the flaws from one side to the other unless you use a sled or jig to hold the board you are sending through the thickness planner or run it over a jointer first.
That's brilliant, Rob! Nicely done!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
