I think the "LD" on the Ami attachments is a great idea you had. I've been watching for quite a few years, I must say you have grown a lot from your hard work and endeavors, enjoy the rewards from it all. Thank you for being an endearing "Utube video professional". 😎😊

I don't think the let's dig (LD18) on that AMI equipment was an idea Chris had. I think the people at AMI put it on there for him after watching a few of his videos. I could be wrong, though there's a saying around here" I'd like to agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong". Cheers :)

Congratulations! Freaking awesome machine, man. I was working in radio broadcast engineering on a job in Vegas. I loaded up the 5th wheel camper and drove from Louisiana to Vegas. My Suzuki DR 400 was inside the camper. I take it for a spin and ran across this place where anyone off the street could rent almost any piece of equipment they wanted and play in their massive sandbox outback. I rented (you guessed it) a tack hoe. A Komatsu PC 300-7. I learned quickly digging a hole was a piece of cake. Digging a trench AND maintain a grade is a whole new ball of wax. Within an hour, I could open your car door without a scratch. The dude told me, "you're a natural" I guess it didn't hurt to use my piloting skills. You are working in three dimensions.
I enjoy your channel immensely. keep em coming.
    Cheers from Louisiana.

That is a really good looking machine. I run a Volvo 220e or a 480e everyday and I am absolutely infatuated with them. They are faster and smoother than any other machine that have had experience with. When I go from the Volvo to a cat or a john deere it feels like I am trying to run under water. When I go from other machines to the Volvo I feel like I'm walking on air.

The Volvo cars in the past got the nickname "Panzer" (engl. tank) in germany because the cars from Volvo were that robust. They used sheet metal a mm thicker than other companys. My uncle had an accident with his Volvo 940 at 180 km/h with several rollovers without any scratch because of a truck that spontaneous changed lanes without looking. The police said that without the Volvo they wouldn't have been so lucky to be alive without any scratch. Volvo just stand for robust vehicles.

Well, I’m glad you had good luck with that machine. Three years ago I purchased a Certified L 90 wheel loader from a dealer in California that was actually owned by Volvo North America. They delivered it to me here in Arizona and I couldn’t even get it started. I had to put new batteries in it before I could even start.It. Then it ran for four hours and I started having problems with it. It turns out it was a bad transmission. So I called the dealer and they sent someone up to look at it and that is when they verified. It was a bad transmission. They refused to do anything about it, I had to hire Attorney and sue the dealership finally after 18 months I won my case and they fix the transmission. The only thing I can say is buyer beware

Question: Can you make a video on how to use this particular machine. I operated skid-loader quite a few years on the farm loading manure, but I never operated one. Explain how each movement of the hands and what each movement responds to the tractor. Like an operational video like what you do, but explaining the digging process with the controls of each hand. That would be really cool to see as I think many kids would like to know! Thank you, Chris!

Before we saw the new thumb, and we heard you talking about the custom thumb AMI were building for you having five teeth, I got it into my head that it was going nearly double the weight of the thumb! It's funny what you see in your mind's eye, because the reality is obvious when you see it. And seeing it in action on yesterday's clearing video, it was impressive to see just how well the setup is working. It makes you wonder how closely the attachment manufacturers have worked with operators in the past, because an operator who does similar work to Chris is going lust after that set up, and while people with older machines might not scrap existing thumbs, they are highly likely to adopt the LD18 set up when buying new equipment.

Nice piece of equipment and the thumb you designed seems to do a way better job of removing dirt from the root ball. Congrats on your 'Dream machine".

Some sellers do not realize that you never get a second chance to make a good first impression.

You work hard. You deserve it. I'm kinda sure Volvo will stand behind their warranty for you. I'm sure over the years they have you to thank for many of their sales. Keep an eye on those tree canopies overhead. The wrong tree could make for a very long day.

May sound like a long drive to normal people, but that's an easy 3 day trip for a truck driver!
We have 11 hours drive time per "day", followed by 10 hours off, and repeat. A couple of stops for fuel, 3 nights on the road, normal driving speed even in a speed governed truck, and probably took an extra night with the spare time, since he could have been there Monday night most likely.
    Easy load lol
Oh, and there's a lot of 70 and 80 mph truck speed limits out that way too, and heavy haul rigs usually don't seem to have governors...

All i would do extra is some cab roof bars . since your working in clearing trees a nice dead wet branch weighing 60lb could come threw your sun roof. Just a thought as its happened to me.
