Such an important and chilling essay. In microcosm I was lectured to by my teenage granddaughter recently about how we are destroying the world and what should be done about it. I asked what she personally was doing about it apart from talk. Nothing of course. So I asked her to give me her iPhone as a tangible gesture of her sincerity. Guess what? It’s always someone else’s place to do something about these things it seems. Thank you for framing this in terms that we can use to push back. I’m now 70 and won’t be affected by the tyranny of the WEF etc, but I will never stop pushing back on behalf of my children and grandchildren.

This is precisely the problem with my peers, the younger generations have grown up in such a level of prosperity that complacency and pursuit of simple pleasures is the norm, this replaces the ideals of innovation, sacrifice, and progress and long term satisfaction that was built by the previous generations. My studies of history have seen this trend arise repeatedly when a global empire is in its decline.
Teach them to push back. Teach them that following their dictates is what got us into this state of tyranny in the first place!!!

I have been shouting out to the universe these last 5 years "Leave us alone!" First you gotta play the game like for example building a following here on UA-cam, how you do that is probably not by ranting to no one in a microphone.
Build something people want to hear cross culturally/politically then you will reach the massed that you seem to want to, then you can begin talking to them about these issues.
Worked in the financial industry for 20 ears, trying to carry out the plans of such companies you mention, seeing paying them millions instead of paying the workers their well deserved salaries, made me realize that nothing will ever change the fact, that these companies are not here to make things better for the workers but better for themselves. The bill or rights is NOT a document limiting the power of the people. Infact it is in direct contrast to that. It is a document limiting the power of the GOVERNMENT. Think about that. Let that first sentence imprint on your very being. Now one side of pur government has its roots being formed to literally change and interpret that into limiting the power of the people and unlimiting the power of the government. Our forefathers were really smart. They had dealt with tyrannical governments and knew what we the people would face in the far far future. They knew that a democracy would always end in tyrrany. That's why they created a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC...NOT A DEMOCRACY. Now again one side of the government (across the world) has always and over the past generation really pushed for the word democracy to equate to our government and freedom. It does not. Back to our forefathers. They knew in order to keep the power with the people they would have to give us these RIGHTS and explicitly explain they were NOT "given" to us by OUR government or by ANY man...they were given by our CREATOR. So no government or man could ever impead on those rights. They could never rake them away or even interpret them to limit the people. Two rights were more important than all others so they put them right at the top. We must and are able to say anything. Literally anything we want. Free speech is not up for interpretation. Yet the left decides what words we can say and what words we have to say. No. That is against everything the first amendment is. Then our right to bare arms. Our right to have an equally equipped militia. Again the one thing the WEF NWO and their Democrat party fears because it is the ONLY thing that could stop them since they steal electionS for decades leaving no other peaceful way to punish OUR government...they have been since their creation trying to rewrite. They have over and over impeded on this right more than any other. Deciding what we can or cannot have. Limiting the power of the people. As a 15 year old in highschool I get scared hearing where the world is going and how the mess we're in is so complex that I see fighting against it near impossible. I'm seeing the educational system going down which has allowed for people to more easily accept these ideas. But thanks to finding Mr. Peterson I have hope that maybe their is a chance to push back

Dr. Peterson you're so close to the answer yet you have missed what is actually going on COMPLETELY. The elites ARE trying to increase the wealth in developing countries and the poorest people on the planet!!! They are doing this by artificially suppressing the 1st world/west through "green" agendas. Holding the earth as the one world religion (one world government is the goal, I hope you know this and know the grass won't always be greener on the other side if everywhere is under the same union rules). The rich people of the west are already leaving their countries due to these regulations and restrictions and authoritarian foreshadowing. They are taking their money and investments and putting it into poor countries around the world. These poor countries are NOT agreeing to "green" agendas, they are carrying on to enrich their economies with factories in replacement of China and carbon dirty jobs and leap frogging in technology. The IMF loans are going to be more available for the poor countries as more people invest in the poor countries increasing the SDR value of their local currency. Furthermore the 1st world is opening up immigration so they can send remittances back to their poor countries and drain the west. The agenda is to make the whole world "equal", when their currencies are worth similar amounts they can introduce a one world currency. When the economic jobs and wages are the same they can remove all the borders. Also, they want slow controlled depopulation and to do that, they have to make the poorest richer and the west will already have less kids because they understand culturally they can't have kids they can't afford. You know this Peterson, you taught me 2 of the key points, you just haven't put it together. Thanks for fighting for us. Communism only works when it is global, which is their goal, but there can NEVER be true communism, there will ALWAYS be elites who lay outside the matrix system. Furthermore I hope you understand the technocracy movement's goal is a world wide energy credit to replace the monetary system (but it will start along side it) in which the elites and rich can buy unused energy credits (carbon allowance) from the poor, as it will be rationed that everyone has the same amount to use in a lifetime. Their other goal is to remove elected officials and put in power "experts" like Dr. Faucci to control their fields. People will not have control over these people's opinions and beliefs of how to rule us. The answer for the world to avoid global slavery is more countries not less. We need less unions. I do not agree. I have stood in Dr. Petersons' corner on several issues prior, but this one. He is horribly mischaracterizing the situation we as a global society now face. He has found a way to warp it into a hidden totalitarian-like scheme. He is essentially saying "reject the experts because they are not our omnipotent masters" because he fails to understand the problem at hand. He then tries to dress up his point of view as if it is a more humanitarian one by referencing saving todays generation of children now instead.

Riddle me this: it’s far more knowable as to how much money is in circulation in the world and what people do with it, and yet, we still have economic problems despite the comparatively simpler set of factors involved. So why on earth do you or anyone else on earth pretend to know that some model, regardless of how simple or complex, is correct, and with that model, a given set of actions is “best” or even acceptable? That’s narcissistic hubris in the extreme. He made a very solid point about the free market being the best system to achieve the best outcome, precisely because it’s so distributed and isn’t foolish narcissistic centralized planning. No centralized planning of an economy has ever served its people well: a centralized planning and control of something more complex is not remotely a reasonable expected outcome. I work in tech, I do deep analysis of what goes wrong in computer systems. They aren’t always feasible to analyze what went wrong for many reasons, often because the particular problem never repeats as one of the reasons. The most complex computer system with all the stuff that can be happening in it is extremely simple by comparison to know all the possible inputs and outputs and how to get from given inputs to given outputs, and despite all that, computer science has as one of the great problems addressed called the Halting Problem, which translates into it being impossible to deterministically verify that anything beyond a very simple, small bit of code will ever terminate. More often than not, it does so as desired.
All these delusional globalists, even if we assume they have the world’s best interest at heart for all the people (and that’s giving them an absurd amount of benefit of the doubt) can’t hope to not make a giant civilization/climate-destroying mess of things, on a good day. I’m from a developing country. Which is severely lacking compared to most European countries and Asian countries such as China, America, Australia, Canada, and so on. The educational system here is extremely fragile with many loop holes and bias within their information that is then provided to students. Being somebody has was put in an English language school at 3, I was able to find Mr.Jordan and is able to expand my pool of knowledge and is able to think clearer with less prejudice and bias. Being able to listen to him is truly a blessing, somebody who is articulate and speaks nothing but the facts without using assumptions and self-opinionated information. These conversations he put out on social media, gives me inspiration and hope in this jerky, imperfect and horrible world. I hope that everything becomes maybe just a little better in the following years!

You can relax, at least, on this score: Peterson's conspiracy theory that "the globalists" are trying to impoverish people in developing countries (or prevent them from getting rich) by restricting their access to energy is ... complete and utter bullshit.
First, no-one has the authority to stop developing countries from accessing fossil fuels. What some development agencies are trying to do is increase their access to clean energy systems - not prevent access to fossil fuels. The goal is to increase prosperity along a clean development path rather than a planet-cooking fossil development path; to "leapfrog" countries into the new clean technologies. Poor countries don't need to go through a full progression of fossil fuel energy technologies anymore, because solar panels and wind turbines are now cheaper than new coal-fired or gas-fired power stations in cost per MWh terms.
Second, clean energy systems - in particular, solar PV panels plus batteries - are cheaper and better solutions for most people in most developing countries - much better than having to buy fuel all the time for propane stoves. Shifting to clean energy systems will INCREASE, not decrease, the level of prosperity in developing countries.
But Peterson understands none of this. Peterson simply read a book by the sly fossil-fuels-industry-paid disinformation specialist Bjorn Lomborg, decided Lomborg is a genius who speaks only truths, and now he, Peterson, is out there parrotting Lomborg's bullshit. Peterson didn't even have the elementary professionalism to go and fact-check Lomborg's arguments by asking some mainstream climate science, policy, or finance people about these issues. He performed no due diligence at all. He's just out there arrogantly preaching about issues he knows nothing about (less than nothing, actually, since what he thinks he knows is grossly incorrect, the opposite of correct).

This might not be the best way to reach you but in the off chance that this message gets to you I want to say a few things.
I found your lectures back in 2016 and was enraptured by the idea that responsibility was what I needed to strive for above all else.
I had been struggling all my life with an eating disorder and smoking marihuana to reduce stress and was incapable of learning during my school years. After watching your lectures for hours on end I bought your book. It took me a full two years to read the first one and almost another four years to reach out to a psychiatrist and see if there was some underlying reason to my troubles.
Turns out I have add/adhd that mainly focuses on an overactive brain. I got medication and now a few months have passed and I am a better father, a better husband, I’ve picked up several books to study subjects I’ve always wanted to learn. I’ve put my best effort into my work and have seen an increase of more than a hundred percent in my paycheck. I’ve not only cleaned my room but lost 25kg and am now sporting five days a week. And I’ve learned to respect people that follow god. I don’t think I can ever believe myself but I now try to live my life as if a god exists and it changed my life for the positive.
Explaining every positive change here would be a book In and of itself. But from the bottom of my heart, my wife and my daughters we thank you. I am finally a man capable of being a monster who is on a daily journey to rescue my father from the belly of the beast.

But people around me are already noticing and asking how I did it and the answer I give is usually, go clean your room and stop using social media. Read some books and lift some weights. A few months later your mind will be full of new ideas and goals you never thought possible. Pick one or two that are achievable but hard and give it your all.
Once you start living, life is good. But I would like to add another chapter in Peterson’s next book. One that helped me greatly.
Help a friend in need. Even though I had enough on my plate I went to my friend to prepare his home for his unborn daughter. Our friendship is deeper for it and that feeling of helping someone is a lot better than yelling at people on the other end of a political debate.
It might be somewhat the same as do what is meaningful but truly lending a hand is one of the most satisfying feeling I ever experienced.

For one, I decided to go my own way and quit school at the beginning of my 9th grade year. Yet, I have always been drawn toward intelligent people and fascinated by them. Jordan Peterson is one of my favorite. For two, I may not be able to speak so coherently or use such a vast wealth of words but I do my very best to understand it and learn from it.

Funny thing about climate change. Several of the planets in our Universe are also undergoing climate change. Was it man who caused that? Let’s consider that the politicians in all their forms - have hijacked a phenomenon occurring Universally to bring change to our lives by taking power away from all of us.
The strength in your anger when reading with passion relays so much more than the written word ever could. It brings everything into context. I for one appreciate the passion behind the word when you read your articles that those of us in other countries might not have access to.
