Rain (VCV Ambient Patch)

I live in Scotland. It rains A LOT. This patch started with a gentle percussive sound made by pinging the Surge XT filter in band-pass mode and feeding it into the Surge phaser. The rhythm reminded me of raindrops, so I added some synthesised rain using the particle noise mode in the Surge Twist VCO (basically Mutable Instruments Plaits, but it's polyphonic). At the end, there's also a binaural field recording of construction traffic splashing down our street, which I made a few years ago.
