    Amazing! I've seen models for OT-era Y-wings, but never a Republic era version. I wonder if you could make Quay Tolsite. I imagine he'd present an interesting challenge with the hexagonal head and the tubes sticking out of his mask.

      I'll have to give this one some thought.. I may do a cloaked figure with a hex face, or I might try just the mask and hood. :)

    I tried designing my own y wing and surprisingly it turned out to look exactly like yours. What will shock you were that the steps were identical too.

      I've had similar experiences in the past. Very recently, I created a sleeping cat origami model based on a glass sculpture I saw. It turns out my model is almost identical to another person's cat model, with the first 15 steps being exactly the same.

      The U Wing is a model I did for Star Wars Origami 2. I designed it so the wings slide from Flight to Attack mode and back.

    Can u make a u wing?

    • @StarWarsOrigami
      @StarWarsOrigami  3 роки тому

      You can find directions for the U Wing in my new book, Star Wars Origami 2. Since its now available in bookstores and online, I can't make any tutorials for models in it due to contract limitations. At least, not for a few years.
      I do plan on eventually making a video tutorial for all of the models in my gallery (starwarsorigami.com/gallery/) The plan is to publish two tutorials a month, starting with the models that aren't in either book 1 or 2. Once those are done, I'll cover the models that are in Star Wars Origami 1. Along the way I'll make a few new models and add them to the list. By then book 2 will have been out for a few years, and I'll start making tutorials for those models.

    I would consider not doing step 48 and making a sharp tail

    • @StarWarsOrigami
      @StarWarsOrigami  10 місяців тому

      You can if you'd like to customize the model. That's one of the great things about origami. You can make each model your own. The Republic Y-Wing engines are squared off, which is why I included step 48.

      You can find the diagrams and custom paper in my book "Star Wars Origami 2". I'll be making a tutorial for it sometime in 2023.
      Stay tuned 🙂

      I'm trying to make one of him without cheating... meaning just making a generic human figure, and using custom paper to make it look like Ezra. To me, thats not the origami way.
