Among the many wonderful aspects of her performance is the fact that she really understands the progression from irony to vulnerability in Dear Friend.
I was lucky enough to see her in "She Loves Me" in July before it ended. What an amazing cast and set. Not to mention the stage door dance party with Zachary Levi. Too bad it had to go.
I love this musical so much. I was so blessed to the see show live! Even though Laura Benanti couldn't say hi to her fans because she was sick out of her mind, her performance was so phenomenal that no one had a clue. She's beauty and she's grace and was incredibly upset to not be able to talk to her fans. She's also hilarious in the show! The dynamics between her and Zachary Levi were wonderful! Zachary Levi was a gem in and off stage. Never ending energy on and off stage as he cartwheeled onstage then jammming to PLT by Michael Jackson while signing autographs. I got to record a video for my friend of him telling her that he loves her. I'm sad that I was unable to stay long enough to meet Gavin Creel. His vocals made me become a little puddle. Oh, he was wonderful.
the show? It was always a limited engagement and it even extended its run at least once. And Ms. Benanti is pregnant so even an unlimited run would have had to recast soon
Look who should have played Marian Paroo with Hugh Jackman in The Music Man production instead of Sutton Foster. She is also faisty but its a soprano as it was composed not a belter. Marveleus performance singing She loves me sons and female lyrics of Tonight at 8
Is there anyone to make me clear? I am a person who is learning english but something she said confuses me here. Sheldon put your hands down. That was not "accurate" I dont get the meaning of "accurate" here I guess sheldon is the writer of this musical so it doesnt make sense if he claims he doesnt know the story. So laura thought if sheldon raised his hand up, it would be a nonsense. So I think maybe she should have said "appropriate" or something here not the word "accurate" Or is there any other reason she said that was not accurate? I know this could be a stupid question, but it kills me, i just cant get this out of my head. Why I dont get this? Plz somebody make me understand...
Sheldon here is Sheldon Harnick, who wrote the lyrics to the songs, who also appears as the maitre'd in the second song. It was just a joke. I could not see Mr. Harnick from my seat, but either he made a joke by raising his hand, or she did by pretending he did. I assumed it was her since it fit with what I have seen of her sense of humor. Thank you for the great question
her singing tonight at 8 has made me listen every single word that she SINGS unlike other renditions that just shouts in a rush.
Same! I think it also helps that she's singing a slightly slower version, though, because the original is definitely more hectic and fast-paced!
Who shouts in a rush..her or other ppls renditions you mean?
That’s how the song is supposed to be performed tho, it’s a character singing role
Does anyone else get super emotional listening to Dear Friend? Am I the only one?

Chris Manabat It was a limited engagement that was actually extended for longer than originally planned because, well, you know why.
You got to go to the dance party? How? Why did it have to go? Covid?
she can carry a whole show no PROBS . with that voice , attitude and energy
Laura is such a pro. And this musical is such a gem. I'm so happy for all her success both professionaly and personaly
Yes, dangerous levels of talent and beauty
It’s so cool to hear Tonight at Eight being sung from Amalia’s POV! Love Laura and She Loves Me!
A film adaptation with Laura please!
They're going to release the BROADWAYHD livecast in theaters so I guess that'll count.

I did not expect Sheldon Harnick! He's a legend! :)
Turns a CD Release event at a bookstore into a comedy appearance. No wonder Colbert grabbed her to play Melania. Laura is brilliant on so many levels.
One of my favorite shows. I will go anywhere, even a high school production just to enjoy these songs. And the Roundabout production iwas scrumptious.

This is really wonderful. The Broadway revival was flawless. And this clip is even more so.
I didn’t know Quinn from Younger could sing wow. I was blown away when I saw her Wikipedia page. What a rock star ⭐️. Bravo
She's really pretty.
She is absolutely a gem! and very funny I love her presence in front of a crowd because it’s very relaxed
I am in love.
I cannot wait to read RUDE by Laura Benanti 😂

I clicked to say that the thumbnail looks like Lana Parrilla

Hey. I saw Sutton foster with Hugh Hackman & she was terrific. But yes. Laura could do it too as how many others???
does anyone know if she's singing tonight at 8 in a different key?
She is! I believe she's singing it a step lower than Zachary Levi sang it, but an octave higher (if that makes sense)!
Is there anyone to make me clear?

Thank you for the great question
accurate means “true” so she’s saying “sheldon, that’s not true, you know the story”
@@griffin1837 oh i found your comment now. thank you i didnt know accurate has a meaning for True. I get it now
