Amongst my awe for the angles and groove that Chanzie achieves is an equal awe for her bra. Clearly she is not amongst the 70% of us wearing the wrong size. If I tried that I would likely give myself a black eye.
I did all those dances back thru the 50's & 60's, and you're right, it never gets old. Like us, we're like a good wine, we actually get better with age!!! I still love to dance but because my dance partner (& husband) passed away 7 years ago, I lost interest, got rusty, and like an old pickup truck, parts needed replacing and thats where I am right now. Hopefully in about 8 months, I'll be able to polish the wood planks in my socks doing a jitterbug!

Clean shaven & Sharp dressed not like now Regards to the music it will never die as it gets discovered every day by some kid, who may just hear it on the radio or watch a trailer on a UA-cam channel or even look it up out of interest! Teens today cannot dance like this. They won't even try. When I was young, there was a sock hop every weekend in the gym. Maybe today's youth could work off a few pounds if they would just enjoy life a little bit by dancing the calories off.

I'm not talking about a large city where old dances like these are more popular and widespread. not to mention that just because the majority of kids don't like swing or boogie woogie or any other 40+ year old dance it doesn't mean they are not fit or lazy. i tried hip hop once and it was the most exhausting thing I've ever done. let's give the younger generation a break.
So fun to watch how that nitty gritty was really done. I used to dance to that song learning from watching the Lloyd Thaxton show after school. The fashion was so right too. Bravo. And loved seeing a double take.
Neither one has the pure,unselfconscious joy exhibited by Mr. Banas. Just not good enough. Mr.Banas you remain one of the best dancers EVER and the best dancer of The Nitty Gritty.

This guy Stephen has to be the best swing dancer I have ever seen. Watching the finals for the past 4 or 5 years is an amazing thing to see. The power and strength of Chanzie is unbelievable.
These have got to be the most funnest people to be around! It reminds me of the early 90's in Baltimore at The Club Allegro where I was fortunate to be a part of a great group of people that got together two nights a week for Country & Western dancing. While not the same style it was the same passion for dancing and a great mix of people. It didn't hurt that I was still in my twenties.
I have the original 45 Record which belonged to my mum. I absolutely LOVE it. Fantastic dance routine. It’s makes me want to get up and learn it myself. It’s so energetic. 💃❤️🙏
