I went to garage sales today and one sale must have closed down and they had a huge “free” table at the end of their driveway. I picked up a 4T Columbia jacket and several other things in excellent condition off this table. I’m donating them to our homeless resource center.

The optics in the Sony are from Zeiss, pronounced Zice, rice with a Z. A very old German optical company known for the best optics available. I worked in optics for quite a few years and the difference between a $50 camera lens and a $3,000 camera lens, is the name behind the lens manufacturer. I almost posted a comment in a video I watched of yours recently because I noticed you walked right past some binoculars in a case and didn’t open them. Don’t bother with most binoculars but please check them and if you see they’re made by Zeiss, buy them. Same with camera lenses or telescope eye pieces. Happy hunting! I enjoy your videos.

That is an RX100, they still make the first generation. It is a steal!!! I paid $100 for a RX100 (1st generation) and stole it. I recently was glad to pickup a RX100 V for $250 and stole that. It has 20 mp but it also has a much larger sensor than most pocket cameras. It's not got a huge zoom range but it's a super quality lens and camera and you can make quality enlargements up to 11x14 easy and likely larger.

Warming up here so there'll be community yard sales, soon. I miss having a Cares Team at my complex bc we'd have a yard sale. Both them and us would use canopy tents due to the harsh sun here. They'd put buckets over the sprinklers and bricks on rope on the legs due to high winds. Good times. 😺
Zeiss also has subsidiaries like Jenoptik, some of their optics will also be sourced out to other manufacturers who can keep within tight tolerances. I was fortunate enough to be part a team that they work with. When we think of lenses it’s eye glasses that get the attention yet they’re part of so many things we count on daily. From doctor visits to rocketing to the moon, lenses play a big part.

The watch is actually from around the 50s. It is louis Vuitton.
