Stax Records, now owned by Concord/Craft Recordings, was founded by Jim Stewart in 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee. So isaac isn't either. the old black artists raised the pillars of black music, hip hop often doesn't have as many talents as soul, jazz, blues, they were important and I much prefer the old artists but I know that today many of them are unknown and even forgotten, not everyone these days knows who Isaac Hayes is but they may know who Mc Eith is because he is a more recent artist. It's like saying that 2pac is not as important as Marvin, both were important in their musical styles and greatly influenced those who came after them.

Dead President's sound track and MC8. Good and bad times in the 90's! "Walk on by" turned into our catch phrase, got me two black eyes on 6th st. Well worth all of it though. When someone told me "MC8" died I was very upset, then I realized they weren't saying "MCA". Still felt bad but not as much, thought the hood finally took him under. Any way good stuff RIP Izaac and MCA!
