This is Your Sign to Do NaNoWriMo! Preptober 2023 Vlog
It may be too late by now, but i would recommend reading mist orn decret history after hero of ages. Unless youve already started on era 2, then I'd read it after Bands if Mourning. In the bugger picture, id probably recommend reading Stormlight before era 2, or maybe even start reading in publication order. Really, any way is fine. Enjoy, it's a great universe.
Appreciate the suggestions - although I have since read all of the cosmere already! Still recovering from finishing Wind and Truth last week lol
I haven’t read any of these smh I’ve heard Will of the many a lot tho
Hero of Ages is really good. Will of the Many is terrible. 😝
Okay lemme pop in for A Frugal Wizards Guide. It's hilarious and cleverly ridiculous. It's not the high fantasy we are used to seeing from Brandon Sanderson. It's a pleasant tale with some great lines and memorable style. 'll stick with you and 100% worth it.
7 days? How? Took me like 2 months lol.
Honestly it was like 4 hours of reading per day lol.
I couldn’t put it down either. I finished the Way of Kings and Words of Radiance in like 3 weeks
I came to basically say the same thing. lol. One week!! That is a lot to digest in a week. I just finished it and think I would be mentally exhausted if that media dump happed in a week.
@@Thomas-rz5nt Jesus Christ. You’re a fast reader and definitely don’t have small children interrupting your reading time with: “Can I have juice?” 🤣
Loved it
A depressive dude carry a bridge for over 1000 pages. I loved it!
im about to start the tandem read, and felt a bit overwhelmed by it, but after hearing your thoughts i think its definitely the way to go!
I'm glad this helped!
You should really read the sailor moon manga it’s really good
It was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid!
@@CorriesStories u should watch the new reboot version it’s called sailor moon crystal and just this year another movie came out !! And it’s more of the original story
Have you read wings of fire?
I have not, is it good?
@@CorriesStories it is amazing you should definitely read it
@@CorriesStories it is a bit of an investment tho like 15 main books and like 10 other's including comics
powerless is so good
I know a lot of people love it but I suppose it just wasn't for me.
@@CorriesStories Thank god, I thought I was the only one who felt that way.
First pls pin not forcing ❤😊❤😊
A month later, are you still shipping the same couple?
Fair question! I definitely warmed up to the other pairing (and that character) a lot more by the time I got to the end of The Rhythm of War. 😊
29 books in January? Are you even human?
29 books *since* January - and this was uploaded in April. 😊
I really enjoy your pithy review! I disagree with the love triangle coming to an end. Yes we root for Shalladin but Sanderson saying "we're not doing the triangle" is kind of refeshing. I agree nothing was boring, but goddamn was the world building heavy!
Thank you so much for this very helpful video! I was very hesitant to read Throne of Glass because ACOTAR wasn't quite the series for me, but after watching your video, I think I'm willing to give TOG a try☺Lots of my friends LOVE this series, and say the tandem read is quite fun
Awesome, I'm so glad you found it helpful! For sure, TOG is a different vibe than ACOTAR, and I felt the plot is better overall. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 😊
Very happy to have found your channel! Subbed.
Awesome, thanks for subbing and welcome! 😊
I am not jealous... I am not jealous...
Thanks for the video!
Glad you liked it!
Who are you shipping I shipped Calidin and Shalon ( idk if I spelt that right)
Same!
😊
howd u not spell it right did u read it ☠️
@@EaszyInitials I listened to the audio books
I have just started the Throne of glass series and I have read Assassins Blade which I loved and I am now on Throne of glass
Awesome! You're going to love it, each book just gets better and better!
I have done all the mistbourn series and they really are great books. Have you read the Light Bringer series??
I haven't read it but I've heard wonderful things - it's on my TBR!
If you liked Mistbour you will enjoy that series.
Can you do a sci fi list?
I do like sci-fi but am kind of in my fantasy era at the moment!
Welcome to the Cosmere, friend. You're in for one epic journey. As far as what to read next, I would hold off on Mistborn Era 2 for now. There are a couple stand-alone books you might want to try (Elantris and Warbreaker) before heading into the magnum opus that is The Stormlight Archive. Not required, but you'll appreciate the connections later on. Though Warbreaker is easily one of my favorite books ever.
Thanks for the tips! I do have Warbreaker on my Kindle so perhaps I'll attempt that next. 😊
I have never read Brandon Sanderson but I am so intrigued after seeing so many BookTube reviews! I'm in line at the library for Tress of the Emerald Sea, but Mistborn is on my list too!
Tress is so good too! I think it's a great entry point into the Brando Sando universe.
I love your passion for these books!
*promosm* ✌️
I loved The Invisible Life of Addie Larue as well!! I tried A Darker Shade of Magic but didn't get into it. :/ I started it on audio though, so maybe I need to get a hard copy.
I just finished the third one, I thought that it was over and got sad but thanks to this channel now I know that there is another, I am so excited to start it. By the way it is also my first time in the channel and I like it, new sub :)
Yes, it's part of a new series so there will be more after The Fragile Thread of Power, also! And thank you so much for subbing. 😊
I'm trying to read a book a month. You're doing awesome with the reading!
Thanks, it's been a lot of fun!
Mixed feelings, some parts were good others not so much. In general it felt like she threw everything and the kitchen sink in there, as the saying goes. It was a bit much.
I feel like your summary of why people don’t like the book completely ignores all of the very valid points plenty of people have put online. Nobody is complaining that their theory didn’t pan out. They’re mad because there was basically no character development for anyone, Bryce turned into the biggest alpha hole alive, there are editing errors in basically every chapter, we get a holographic info dump instead of our characters actually exploring Prythian and interacting with each other in order to find out information, so many storylines from HOSAB just went absolutely no where. This book desperately needed its characters to grow as people in order to earn their leadership role that was handed to them at the end. Bryce does absolutely nothing to show she would be a good political ruler (just kills and insults a bunch of powerful people without dealing with any repercussions because she’s the Chosen One), yet decides to abolish the monarchy (not a bad idea imo), but then just appoint herself representative of the Fae on their group council. No democracy? What’s the meaningful difference between that and Monarchy? And why does Ithan get to be prime of the wolves? This book was literally just a long list of his bad decisions that demonstrate he would not be a great option to be a leader. Did I mention the Bryce / Hunt romance was terrible? They used to be my fave main SJM couple, but this book just made me want Hunt to leave Bryce so he doesn’t have to be so mistreated. Like she tells him to shove his feelings when he’s experiencing PTSD from his last gf who tried to kill the Asteri. Speaking of which, why was it even important for there to be 6 Asteri rulers? Only one mattered in the end. I don’t expect greatness in SJM books but I at least expect there to be stakes, consistent characterization, and a good love story, and I got none of those three.

Georgeous haul. I'm a bit pickey about space as well but the last few books are very tempting.
I never noticed end pages like that or the sprayed edges in general. I guess they don't do that with non-fiction, which is mostly what I read. I'm impressed you waited a couple of weeks before opening a box! I'd have a hard time doing that. :)
Sprayed edges are very much a special edition type thing and most book stores don't have many books like that. And yeah, its more popular among fiction books, particularly fantasy. Yeah it was hard waiting to open some of those boxes! The one I was most excited about only came a day before I made the video though lol.
I’m currently in her A Court of Thorn and Roses series and I’m realizing the can of worms that I have opened by getting into the Maasverse🫣🤣 can’t wait to read these!
It was the same for me! I started with ACOTAR last year and now here I am, 16 books later! 😂
Really liked your review! I stayed away from these books for SO long... I caved and here I am having finished Kingdom of Ash at the start of this month. These books really do take you on a journey! The amount of times It makes you shed tears or your breath is caught lpl
I know right! It's so epic. So glad you enjoyed the review. 😊
Soooo good!!!
I just started reading this series and I started with Assassin's Blade. It was a slow start for me but I agree, I appreciate understanding Celeana's past first. Hoping the rest of the series picks up a bit.
It definitely picks up! But I agree it was a slow start for me too, especially the prequel.
I’m having a hard time reading assasin’s blade. I lost interest in it because I read throne of glass and crown of midnight. I rather skip the prequel book and go straight to heir of fire.
I love your videos!
Isn't it great to unbox Amazon packages? I like how you displayed your books on the shelf. :)
Totally! and thanks 😊
40 books in a year is quite a lot! Good job!
Thanks! 😄
I’m setting my goal at 12 print and 12 audio because I don’t want to infringe on my writing time. Not sure of my audibles, but planning to read Sarra Cannon’s Demons series 11 books.
I haven't heard of that author I will have to check them out! An audiobook goal is a great idea too, I think I will set one as well. 😊
Good job! Can't wait to see the finished product one day. :)
Thanks! Not sure it will ever see the light of day but who knows lol.
I may have accidentally converted myself to a plotter because for the first time, I plotted every chapter, and I am already over 50,000. Now, do I like it all? No, definitely not. But I'm enjoying writing it, so that's a win in and of itself. I look forward to going back to it every day, because even with my word count, I'm only about 1/3 through the actual story.
Congrats, that's amazing! The enjoyment is what it's all about for me, so whether you get that by plotting or pantsing, that's a win for sure! Your novel sounds pretty epic! What genre is it? Mine is going to be more than 50k also (I expect to pass 50K tomorrow) but probably not much more than 60k.
@@CorriesStories that's awesome that you're also so close to 50k! my genre is romance, FMC has some baggage that needs to be explored!
I resonate with this so much! How terrible is too terrible? lol it's so hard to self assess sometimes. Great job on reaching these milestones!
Thank you! It's definitely hard to be objective about your own work. Prose I can fix, but for me the biggest problem is all the plot holes that will I will somehow need to spackle in the second draft.
Cool!
I'm excited about your novel!
Thank you 🤗
Subbed at 3:34 😄
😄 Thanks for the sub!!
