The dance was written by Alan Winston and the tune was written by Patti Cobb. Please correct this information. It was commissioned by me in honor of Larry's birthday at the Hey Days auction.

It's a Scottish dance so why are they walking?
It's a dance I know well and use fairly often with my Monday morning Seniors group but even they make an effort to dance rather than walk. Having said that, some of them are "retired" Scottish Dancers and old habits are hard to kick! My philosophy is they've paid to come in so are entitled to dance as they please but sometimes the music is such that dancing is almost compulsory. The music in your clip falls into this category hence my (hypercritical!) comment. Alan White who wrote the dance runs the Wimbledon Club and was continually frustrated by a lack of men so wrote Heptathlon Jig as a genderless dance.
