Retired person here on a limited budget… I can’t afford Patreon, so I prefer donating via Ko-Fi. Others have mentioned that most podcasters have both a regular UA-cam channel in addition to “special” content that they post on Patreon, and that’s true in my experience, also. I just don’t watch the special content and make do with the regular podcast content that they post on UA-cam. I enjoy your channel very much, Rachel and I hope you continue to post! I would miss you if you start posting only to Patreon, but you do what’s right for you…! Take care!

I support several creators on Patreon. I like the additional content most creators provide, but everyone I support keeps up with their regular UA-cam channel. I do it mostly to support creators whose work I enjoy, but I also am happy to support through Kofi or similar.

Hi Racheal. I only watch regular UA-cam. I don't subscribe to Patreon. Mainly due to the cost, I know its not much but still it all adds up and also I'm never sure if I will find the time to watch the extra stuff. It's personal choice really. Love your bookmarks and watching your podcasts xx

Absolutely no, I don't do patron, I can't afford extra fees, I really try to do the like and subscribe and let the adverts run. But 2 of my favourite UA-cam channels have gone the patron touted, and I now feel like a poor relation, as I feel that they just throw out scraps on their free channel. May be I'm wrong but I only have so much money on a pension! I am just so grateful for what you do. Xxxxxxx

Hey Rachel, I currently subscribe to a couple of Patreon channels of people I am genuinely interested in. To be fair there are quite a few I’d subscribe to but the cost soon mounts up. The content people share on Patreon is definitely different to UA-cam and more exclusive for the people who subscribe! Personally I love it but I can’t afford to subscribe to everyone that I want at the moment unfortunately xx

Love the pouch you made. I ordered one of your bookmarks. Missed out on the tartan one, though, as someone bought it. Makes me a bit sad when a UA-cam creator goes to Patreon. It seems like those of us who supported the regular UA-cam channel get passed over on content for viewers who can pay. Not all of us have the budget to be paying creators to watch a video. Don't forget the little people who helped establish your channel but just don't have the money to pay.

Hi Racheal. I used to subscribe to some channels on Patreon but have had to hold back on all that for now. It is a very friendly place and I know quite a few Y Tubers have gone over to it now. Stitch with Rachel has as well as Jooles, Gaynor, Emma of Vintage Sewing Box and many others. People can subscribe for as long as they wish and then dip in and out. Your summer box looked really lovely and I hope your autumn one does well too. You have sparked me to get going again on some scrappy projects as been down in the dumps for so long….. It’s sad that a lot of the people that I follow are going over to subscription services..or offer more content if you subscribe..😔A lot of people are struggling with money right now,and subscriptions are an unnecessary expense.so we lose out on the people we enjoy watching..also if they run a subscription beside their channel it always makes you feel like your on the outside of a clique.. not nice.. 🤷‍♀️♥️

A totally lovely podcast Rachael ❤ and it’s great to see all the great new items you’ve made- isn’t it wonderful to get so much pleasure from things you’ve made yourself? I was very excited with my Summer box- So looking forward to using it! Last week we had some unusually warm August temperatures- almost 20 degrees but this week we’re back to chilly mornings with a dusting of snow on the mountains! Hi Racheal I love your videos but I also don’t follow any patreon videos. I understand that vloggers use it as an income but unfortunately I’m not in a financial position to pay for it. I have also unfortunately had to unfollow certain UA-cam videos as they have changed their content volume for their normal audience. I do appreciate that lots of work has gone into creating content but also a lot of people are struggling financially at the moment. I live in Victoria Australia and we are really struggling at the moment. We are almost in our 60s and luckily we don’t have much of a mortgage but I only work casual at our local school cleaning and my husband travels 65km to work and the fuel costs are killing us. I don’t mean to carry on but lots of people are struggling with it all. I hope one day things will be different but at the moment it’s not viable for me to pay extra for watching videos. It’s sad because I use UA-cam as a way to escape the horrible things that are happening around us. I love your channel and if that’s what you decide to do then that’s up to you. You need to do what is best for your channel. ❤ ❤

Hi Rachel! If you have friends working for " patreons" or patrons they can share more valuable information with you as for the extra time they have to put into it and stress and all that other personal principles that one has on the subject. I would probably miss your regular uploads as a simple viewer on a small budget . 😊 I think one should also be careful who are those becoming your patrons. Who needs drooling weirdos watching them?

In answer to your question at the start of your vlog, I only watch vlogs I don't have to pay for. I don't know much about Patreon but I know more and more vloggers are using it as well as their normal UA-cam channel. Do what feels right for you x

Pearl sister was my favourite out of the series though the whole 8 are brilliant The holiday footage was very nice a look at Lochs & scenery through others eyes is always good Thank you Rachel I know the feeling of growing up & away sons & yes they do come back in a sort of way not as you may expect but as should be grown up different 💜💙

interesting to see the footage from your holiday, we have just come back from 2 weeks on the west coast of Scotland, finding it strange being back and missing beach walks😢 you will love Barter books in Ainwick! it is a second hand book store in a converted train station.

Lovely vlog. Thank you. I know a lot of people disagree but we took down a lot of trees in our very narrow cottage garden as they were just clogging it up and stopping other plants from getting any sunlight. Since they went the other plants have flourished. We decided to take them down on the recommendation of our tree surgeon as he said he would have to come back over and over again to trim them (I think usually around every 2-3 years). As it happens one of our neighbours has just had to have her tree cut again. As you say, it is not cheap but can understand if you still want to keep it in the future. We’re not going away at all again this year. Molliecat is getting too old to be left for any length of time (I would just worry about her too) along with business commitments. So glad you had such a lovely time though. X.

Glad you had a good holiday Rachael! Tree cutting is dangerous and expensive business. I’ve been working on several Christmas in July cross stitch pieces. 3 are finished and 3 more to go, alternating one each day.

Winter here in Melbourne. It has been a really cold one too. I have been making lots of the basket bags with some upholstery fabric I "acquired". Currently knitting hot water bottle cover. Thanks for the interesting blog today❤❤

Lovely holiday video glad you had a wonderful time. They did take a lot of the tree down but look at all the sunshine you have. Also it’s going to be more manageable for you to keep trimming. I love trees but big ones in small gardens can cause damage. We have lots in our garden and the roots are doing damage in our septic tank. And yes our children grow up and want to do their own thing. I have 3 adult children with families and you just have to let it go.😢 My baby is 30 this week and he’s going to be a dad in February next year but he still gives me a hug when he visits. I can enjoy it through our grandkids now until the cycle starts again. 🥰

You’ll love Alnwick gardens Rachel, they’re amazing but if you go during cherry blossom time, even better also Bamburgh Castle is surrounded by beautiful beaches too although not sure how far you want to travel. It’s so nice to see you back Jean H x

Teenage grandchildren are almost the same, we spent lots of enjoyable days and holidays doing things with ours and then it all changes so I’m hoping they will change too 🤞
