GSD Insights #2: Why Perfection isn't Perfect with Kunal Bhagat
In this Insights episode, we continue the conversation with Kunal Bhagat, a successful entrepreneur and former investment banker, about why the pursuit of perfection can sometimes hold us back. Kunal, who has built and sold a market-leading business in India's single-serve beverage space, shares his journey of navigating uncertainty, adapting business strategies, and the real challenges of starting something new-especially in unfamiliar territories. They dive into the realities of entrepreneurial resilience, learning through iteration, and embracing flexibility over flawless planning. With candid stories of cross-cultural business dynamics and insights on balancing persistence with adaptability, this conversation is a reminder that "perfect" plans are rare in the real world-and that sometimes, just getting started is the key to getting things done.

Good job Elim!
would be amazing if this short included the guy’s answer lol
She has not even realized her special epic talent so there is no ego in her interpretstions and precisely that gives the great pleasure for the listener. It is not lovely, it's freedom, like Celibidace would say.
She is in her own class as a fantastic epic violinist - in fact, one of the best artists as storyteller. Her best performances are so engaging for the listener that you rest in the heaven for a ehile with her❤
Your podcast is really awesome❤
Great interview, enjoyed every minute. Well done mates!❤
Facts!
Could you please check the caption at 4:05 that is a two day or due date?
Thank you so much for your comment 😊 you’re absolutely right, Eric said due date but subs say two day 😅
WoW awesome. Tyler visiting.

Agree 100% - I was an HR manager and reviewed hundreds of thousands of resumes a month. Unless you’re applying for a designer/creative related role - keep your resume simple and pack it with notable accomplishments. Use specific numbers, names (when you can), and examples that highlight you.
Thanks Justin Great hearing from you btw Merry Christmas!
Very practical! This interview reminds me of what I was forgetting as an employee - what even Harvard said. I think I'll wait for the next episode.
Good insight on the power of networking indeed!
Thanks Boris!
Nice
감사합니다.
3:30 onwards gives the suggestions of how to do it better

Hi, Nice tips but I do wonder one thing. How hard would you say it is as a non native Korean to get a job? In my case I got a Uni degree and a EMBA as well as 13 tears of experience working internationally. Lived in Korea before as well so I do know the country. Also where do companies post job opportunities? I see very few on platforms like LinkedIn.
Hey Christian! Thanks for your comment. I would be lying if I were to say it's easy. Let's keep in mind that Korea is one of the most homogenous countries in the world on almost every metric. But I do see it getting progressively easier for two reasons - growth of Korean companies with global aspirations, emergence of a startup eco-system that needs foreign talent without always requiring Korean language. Do you use Linkedin? Let's connect there www.linkedin.com/in/gordondudley/
Thanks for your helpful tips for the interview prep. Do you have any services for resume editing or something like that?

I think that is a very good point
Hi Mr. Dudley, I'm Chanwoo, Chanwoo Lee (haha) and I attended your seminar today at SNU. It was very insightful and I especially liked when you explained why it is important to know why. I haven't thought about it in such depth. Thank you so much for sharing your insights with me.
FYI, I'm the one who said "Because Koreans are too shy to make a cold call and break the ice." when you asked the audience to guess why no Koreans were accepted for a global leader program even though they were highly effective.
Good introduction ;-) Hope that you find your WHY!
Thank you for tyhe helpful information.
Great info! Can I add a couple of points wearing my recruiter hat? 1. Along with the positive action verbs, I would list points as "accomplishments." I'd much rather see numbers and read what sort of impacts you've had in your role. If you aren't able to substantiate those numbers, estimates are ok. If no numbers, positive action verbs work. For example... "managed a team of 20 engineers and regularly delivered projects 10% earlier than deadlines" is more impressive than "managed a team of engineers and delivered projects before deadlines." 2. Though an address isn't required, many recruiters will consider where the employee lives in relation to the work site. This helps a recruiter determine whether or not or.. "if" a relocation will be necessary. Though contingent on the role, how accessible the employee may not be can determine whether someone is called in for an interview... fair/unfair, just a reality. Again - great points! Bonus points - it actually annoys most recruiters and HR professionals to see candidates apply to multiple roles within the same company. Especially if their CV's do not demonstrate the basic requirements. It can actually hurt the candidate. In other words - don't mass apply to jobs just because you want to work for a particular company.
All very good points Justin! Thank you for adding more advice to this.
Thank you so much for sharing your good information
Awesome Gordon

감사합니다 ㅎㅎ도움이 많이 되었어요!
Thank you for sharing your insight. I've got a question about the tip 4. If I need to capture the key words from JD, do I need to change my CV for every different jobs??
Hi Jungeun, thanks for your question. Yes you should tailor your CV for each job application. If you have decided which job is your no.1 choice e.g. junior accountant then you have applications which require the same transferable skills. This makes it easier to tailor your CV. Any application that you are not personalising and showing that you really want the job, is not worth going for. Hope that helps, feel free to send us an email directly if there is something else specific.
감사합니다
