I thought this song was self deprecating at first. About you not making enough time for others by being too busy (which I heavily relate to) then I thought you might have friends that hadn't been making the time for you maybe? But then I noticed it was all sounding very religious so I must know. Is this song about god and her absence?

Like you quite literally refer to god several times. like your having a one sided "conversation" with them and it's not just metaphorical and it all just clicked

you nailed it. it was written about my relationship with god and/or a divine being. however, I also wanted to try and leave it just vauge enough so that these set of circumstances could really be appleid to any relationship dynamic.
