Bless you for being submissive to your husband! 💖 We are a one income family and he doesn't make a whole lot, but God provides! Jehovah Jireh! ❤
Oh my goodness that tree with the leaves and lights is absolutely incredible! What a fun thing for the kids and you to enjoy throughout your day 😊
Thank you! Such a labor of love but so much better than a cinder block column 😜
Oh I just love that idea of thankful pumpkins! ❤❤
It's the sweetest! The first year we were married our mentors were doing it so we adopted it as well 🥰
HAPPY SUNDAY Megan and family. I agree. ENJOY your week. SHARED TO THE BURGH; STTB; Pittsburgh PA
Thank you! Have a wonderful week!
Stay at home mom here. We live off of one income. We don't buy crap. 😅 and yet we're happy!
You are a breath of fresh air for me during a hard season of life. Your voice is so peaceful and your home is so beautiful and real. I love your authenticity! God bless you! ❤
Thank you for this encouragement 💗 so glad you're here!
You have such a soft soothing voice and beautiful aesthetics in your home. Great to see all those projects. Beautiful video, thank you for sharing.
Also love you commenting on finding the balance on creative and productive homemaking; surely is difficult! Thank you for the tip on productivity.
Thank you, you are so kind! The balance is truly difficult! Grateful to be in this season though. 🙂
Love this!🧡💛Thanks for your kind sharing!!😘🍞
Thank you for watching! 🙂
Your sewing projects turned out so well! Love your creativity! Have a great week. 👍👍🧡
Thank you!!! Hope you have a great week as well ❤️
Great video. Have a lovely week.
Thank you! I hope you do the same ❤️🙂
My go to sourdough bread 1.5 cups water 1 cup of Active starter 3 cups of bread flour 1tbsp salt
Thank you! Do you let it ferment in the fridge overnight or is it a one day process?
@@meganblakelie_ depending on how warm your house is. I’d like to let mine ferment outside of the fridge on its main proof so I can have bread that evening if I start it that morning , unless I don’t feel like dealing with it. Then I’ll put it in my fridge. So when mixing for the first time, it’ll seem like it won’t come together. Just let it sit in a warm spot for like 10 minutes and then you start your fold and stretches. It’s easier if your hands are damp when doing this, so the dough won’t stick as much. You’ll know when the dough is ready for its bulk ferment when you start to do your stretch and fold in the dough stops sticking to your hand and it’s smooth to the touch and it stretches beautifully. That is when you can cover it pop it in your fridge and let it do it things for the next morning. But like I said, if you want bread that day, let it do it’s main proof somewhere warm in the house.
Super enjoyed my visit with you today! Your bedding looks fantastic and you did an amazing job!!! I myself have a love hate relationship with starting sourdough! I want that kit to try one more time.
Thank you so much!! The kit is truly so helpful. Definitely recommend ❤️
I am going to order it
The UA-cam channel This Golden Hour makes tons of sourdough recipes and they all look amazing.
Ohh thank you! Going to have to check them out 🙂
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah!!!
🧡🧡🧡 Lovely video, trying to get some ideas... Starting a new teaching adventure Sept 7, teaching ESL (now it will be my first group class) and piano. Im concerned with simplifying and minimalizing my home, schedule, & routines so that I don't get into the level of overwhelm I used to suffer routinely. Lovely video, thank you!
So many exciting things coming your way! I hope you're able to settle into a good rhythm. Wishing you all the best ❤️
Beautiful video
Happy Saturday Megan and family. Thanks for sharing your routine. Enjoy your weekend. STTB; Shared To the Burgh; Pittsburgh PA.
Thank you! 🙂
I have a similar story to you. I begged my husband to let me stay home with our babies and it was never the right time. Two years ago when my son turned a year old I was able to quit. It has been extremely difficult adjusting to one income with inflation and all of the utilities has either doubled or tripled in that time. Fortunately when my husband and I bought our house it was in 2011 when the market was down so we got it for a good price. It was only ment to be a starter home but due to the market and inflation we have been in this home way longer than expected. We have four kids living in a 3 bedroom one bath house. As difficult as things have been iam so greatful for this opportunity to stay home with my babies and help my sisters inlaw and my brothers inlaw to babysit their children not needing to worry about if someone will harm them. Thank you for your channel it gives others hope that they can too achieve their dreams.
Love your home. I see that Old World Home commented. Hilary is one of my favorites too. It's August and I'm already watching Christmas tour videos.
Love Hilary so much! Would not still be here on UA-cam if it wasn't for her support. Also- I'm so ready for Christmas as well 🥰
Praise God!🤍I am a new subscriber to your blessed channel. ✨You are truly blessed to have the most beautiful daughters. 😇👑Continual prayers for one of my daughter and husband for a baby.🙏
So glad you're here!! 🤗
Have a lot of conversation. Make sure hr sees what you do is equal to what you do. 💙💜💚
Do it. Expect difficulties. Worth it, yes 💚💜💙
At the time mark 9:05 when you put the breakfast plate on the table, i thought it was like 11 pm because you had done so much already. Well done , you ! ❤
I feel the same sometimes
Happy Friday Megan and family! STTB🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂
You have no idea how much i needed to hear that today. I feel 'stuck in the mundane' now. It's reassuring to hear someone else is feeling the same.
Are you from Romania?
❤
Thank you for sharing! I tend to feel this way towards the end of winter + summer especially ❤️ glad we can find community here!
I'm a teaching assistant and I completely get the part about being nervous because the classroom isn't fully set up yet😅
It's so overwhelming to think about it before being able to get in there and just do it!! Haha
We don’t use flat sheets either!! I am so glad to see someone else say the same. 😅
Yes!! Drives me nuts!! 😂
Thank you for your great encouragement. And you birthday party is amazing
Pretty sure Rosey will love it, may God continue blessing your family always put him first and he will continue to provide for your family.
So, let me ask you a simple question ..... If you find yourself divorced, do you have the education to make your own living and continue to raise your children?
@@alexandrasmith7682 I have a degree in business, though I would argue these days that doesn’t mean what it used to. I would be relying upon and trusting in God’s provision, just as we do now ❤️
Happy Thursday in August. Our daughter in law is an after school Program Director and in the Summer they take them to so many fun learning experiences that they would otherwise not be able to go. Any who, mentally with what she is seeing with the children and their home life, dealing with parent's and most do not care, she can get exhausted. She is able to take our two grand children with her during the Summer. They go to a private school during the school year. Understand everything what you are saying. Pray for a safe school year for everyone. STTB*SHARED TO THE BURGH*Pittsburgh PA.🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Yes! It is both physically and mentally/emotionally exhausting. But such a blessing to be a part of these works! Praying she has a great school year as well ❤️
I've been a SAHM for 18 years. I'm still at home even though I have teens. Every time I have thought about going back, it seems God says no, not right now. I think a lot of this boils down to priorities. If you are able to budget on one income, you may have to give up certain things like name brand groceries, a huge house, fancy vacations, going out to eat often, etc. We have lived this way for many years and have felt it to be worth the exchange. I have been here for every phase and stage my kids have gone through and am still here guiding them through the hard teenage years. It is a hard job, but a decision my husband and I dont regret. :)
I think having a parental figure present during the teenage years - physically and emotionally - is just as important as the little years. Though I can’t fathom what that must be like yet, I know God is using you!
Love this ❤
Sometimes I am so grateful to the internet that I get to witness people like you who are so creative and resourceful in their everyday lives. Thank you for your beautiful videos ❤
Awe thank you for this sweet encouragement, I’m so glad you’re here! ❤️
I'm so glad that she parted with some things there weren't any tears I just watched so many mothers and they complain and say they have so much but yet they keep adding to the problem
Yes! It can be so easy to do sometimes but definitely helps when they’re willing to give up some stuff ❤️
@@meganblakelie_ 😊
Simple life sincere Neighborhood .
Yay for your productive garden! 👍👍💚 P.S. the quilt! 👏👏👏
You've been so supportive since the install of this year's garden. So thankful!
Yes it is entirely possible!! We had four daughters & lived on 1 income & had 1 car!! You learn to live more simple, cook from scratch, can & preserve food & to be CONTENT!!
beautiful quilt
Thank you! 😊
So happy to come across your channel! Your video is filmed soo gorgeously! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!!! ❤
After 10 years of teacher and baby 3 on the way, im considering taking time off from the classroom to spend with my kiddos and homeschooling. Considering substituting so i dont get bord.
Sounds like you have great options either way! Congratulations on baby #3 🙂 P.S. I don't think it is possible to get bored as a homemaker and/or mama. It may not be for everyone, but there is always something to do!
I really enjoy quilting and am trying to get back in to it. I started my first quilt over 30 years ago, but it's been a while since I've quilted. Last year a local small town quilt shop went out of business and I bought some jelly rolls (is that what they are called? They are new to me) at a great discount. I've never "cheated" like that, but I thought it was a nice way to get back into it. And they are still sitting in the closet. SOON!!!!!! ❤
Love that! I bought some precut mini squares several years ago that I have yet to find a use for. It is such an enjoyable, but timely process. I can certainly relate to projects taking a while to come to completion haha
My first video of yours. Our grown daughters are in Georgia. I am looking for channels that can help with their gardens, etc. We are from Michigan, so it is very different. I would recommend the book The Opt out Family. Just finished the book and LOVED it for practical ideas on the internet and keeping it where YOU want it.
So glad you're here, thank you for the recommendation!
I am becoming a SAHM starting September. I’m scared. I’ve always worked but my job ends this month and with starting homeschooling 2 preteens my husband said just take time and be a SAHM. It’s hard to give up the independence of earning my own money. But I think it will be worth it.
Excited for you! Hopefully it will be a smooth transition. Your efforts will be worthwhile in the long run!
No cliche, prayer is absolutely necessary to make it in this world. I have no desire to be a full time home maker, but the last 2.5 years ive been working parttime which has been my dream. I missed so much of my daughters childhood working 40-60hrs a week, and I dont want to go back to that. I now work 3-5 hrs a day!
That's so wonderful! Love the part-time option we have these days!
Well. Needed this. Thank you. I believe God brought this to my feed for a reason. Your birthday party you planned was absolutely precious. A true all American, backyard party. How lovely. ❤
So glad it came at this right time for you ❤️ thank you for being here!
Oh I absolutely agree, I always feel like I need a vacation after my vacation too!
It’s so exhausting and so much fun all at once 😅
