It is not a rain jacket you idiot, get a beta lightweight for less than half the price. This is for real extreme sport wich you probably never did. No one uses a shell like that as a rain jacket

So the SV is designed as a Hardshell. It is designed to keep the elements out and warmth in on mountains, hikes, and climbs. The reason the pockets are up so high is most of the people that buy this jacket are using it with a climbing harness and backpack which would cover up any lower pockets. It’s an absolutely bombproof jacket that I’ve personally used in some absolutely shitty conditions. Wear it out in the cooler months when it’s rainy and you’ll never look back. Also the hood is designed to fit a climbing helmet. I would definitely pick up something from the Beta line of Arc’teryx as it will be better for day-to-day life and the hood won’t swamp your head.

The alpha sv is made for going to like the arctic or something. The betas are more versatile
