One of my all time favourite games, struggles to work on modern pcs though. Game crashed constantly for me which is why i stopped it.
The plants grow faster if they are placed in the incubator first. I understand they also give less yield if not grown this way although I have not tried it myself. Potatoes (and beets) will not produce oxygen until they reach 50% growth.
dont know if i have access to the incubator yet, but probably wont be concerned about it till i have a greenhouse
@tristint.4857 Incubator is one of the first things available. You should have access. Replace one of your tables with it to speed up growth.
You need to build some battery extensions.
I havent needed them yet but do want them. Noticed i hadnt unlocked them yet when i went to build some
BTW, it is possible to let your Marstruck (and later Rover) battery module(s) be charged in the battery rack... besides one row of suit batteries, there is space for 4 vehicle battery modules. So if you like, you don't have to connect vehicles by cable, and you can even have spare battery(es)... range extended, if you take charged spare with you...

Hm, are you aware that Sabatier module (well extension) decreases the water production? Making oxygen this way is quite ineffective... just ONE Scrubber produces more (and as side effect, fill your CO2 bottles, too). Oxygen produced by sabatier is only needed to refill Rover (or Jetpact) and quite small amount at that (5hr production of 1 module enough for refilling Rover)... Normally, you don't need more than 1 extension module.
Im losing a tiny bit of water and increased my ocygen production for minor power cost, and not taking up any more of the 8 machine slots i have. The one scrubber wasnt working fast enough for me, and i dont need the water
@@tristint.4857 OK then, but you need 4 Sabatiers to replace one Scrubber (if scrubber is tuned, then that icreases to 5.5 times). Sabatier modules need power too, each 5kW (one Scrubber around 10kW depending upon setting). Thus, power-wise you are loosing, too. Truth is, Scrubber takes one position inside building, normally that is no problem but if you for some reason can't build another building, then you have reason to do it away...
One medium solar panel makes 30 power without upgrades, which is 6 sabatiers. Hardly any inconvenience at all, specially with that much water being produced at the reduced still being much more than i need for a long while.
@@tristint.4857 OK, later one day you will reach the limit given by you water "field" which is something like 60l/hour of H2O, maybe then you change opinion... but that is some dozen episodes far in future... Then you maybe reduce Sabatiers to one (totally, not "per") and one Scrubber... nothing more necessary. Proven many times, by many players, some of them youtubers.
By then i will have found a place with 2 or 3 close water fields to build near.

Spectral Detector 3 allows you to find ores underground in order to build a mine. It also increases the range.

not really a big deal in my opinion. I will still finish the electric tech tree far before the others

The weather events are a proper pain in the a*se. They generally last between 8 & 10 hours, despite the devs claiming 3 hrs (for colonist mode). Methane (and oxygen) is used to refill your Jetpack if you decide to go down that route. There is now a “challenge” within the game to build a launchpad and it needs methane and oxygen (as well as a lot of food) to complete the task.
weather lasts at least 6 hours, and is boring when they occur. At least in Icarus you can risk going outside in a storm for a bit.
If you “equip” the universal repair kit you can use it to repair damaged vehicles instantly. Not sure as yet if it repairs anything else.

When you hover your mouse pointer over a vehicle (as at 5:31) the current battery charge is displayed at the bottom left of your HUD. Saves having to get in or on the vehicle.
ive noticed that, but always forget when i wonder how much power a vehicle has. I believe the same hub tells you the power and air of a building
I can't stress enough how important is to produce enough energy for base, without it NOTHING there works... neither light, nor temperature (heating), nor Scrubber (you can tune it down so as to need less power but it needs SOME) nor Workbench. Only think that works without power is the sink...
running out of power before you have plants growing is a minor inconvenience for me. I hardly use the workbench once i have a few circuit boards saved up. i have a bunch of batteries charged. Auto scrubber is the only thing really, and if you have wells on a separate power grid, your fine.
@@tristint.4857 well, the "durability" of tools (jackhammer, grinder etc.) is new thing (the get damaged by intensive using) and you have to cope with it. You either spend repair kits, or make Workbench working, at least during day...
P.S. any thoughts about methane are bogus, you just need to repair your tools... especially blowtorch...
Methane? never seen it in the game I use repair kits on my tools. I dont like the work bench much, i dont think the mechanics are implement properly. Try and drags your tool from your hotbar to the table (why cant i just click on it and it go over there), half the time it takes numerous attempts to get the tool there. then takes time to repair. Then it doesnt put the tool back on my hotbar. Only use of the workbench for me is to repair circutboards and to upgrade tools
@@tristint.4857 Repairing tools isn't like repairing electronic boards, you don't need any soldering etc. its easy... just put it there and click "repair"...

For example create,all the mods,scp, steampunk and insane crafts,mods.
I suggeste you to play Minecraft 100 days with multiple mods like ummm,a ton of mods because not many did this and there are not many that does it and if there are, they aren't very good(they do many mistakes 😭).

Hm, let me say that Sabator reactor (well extension) is completelly unneeded until/unless you have either Rover or Wings (sorry can't remember how is the flying thing called). ONLY those need to be filled with oxygen and can't connect to CO2 Scrubber. Well extension creates oxygen at cost of some water, and while doing so needs more energy than Scrubber. Thus, they are no-no for me, until player become far more advanced than now...
You could have taken the Marstruck battery out and put it in your charging rack.

19:00 Excellent simple rework of secondary power "island", 20:00 IMO bad solution turning all power off to base... Marstruck power was a problem solely because it was "empty" after completion, with just any panel extra would never more be problem...
BATTERY 0% :) :) It will self-charge, but that might take long time... i would connect it to the outlet instead of rock crusher, at least for few dozen minutes...

Unfortunately in this latest update of the game the Marstruck solar panel has gone from ridiculously over charging (compared to its small size) to not really worth a damn. Unless you have a full battery or are not going far it’s best to take a solar panel with you on your travels and charge whilst grinding bases.
I noticed. Took me a few days and some struggles to get its battery charged. However, once charged it seems almost as good as it was as long as you are not driving all night.

Sorry, not currently. Game kept crashing on me, and i have five other series going, with another four game keys that need content in the next couple months.

The reason why the two wouldn't stack is because the material was given from the pod, and not looted from the base. the rest will likely stack normally once the free pod items are used up.
Don't forget to scan decorations before you grind them down or you can't unlock them:P

22:00 well you like large batteries, but as of now you can't use them. I would far more recommend taking "more efficient pannels", bcse as said, you get tech points according to energy produced. Thus, any production increase (here: by 20%, automatically on each panel, no need to refit) has a "snowball effect" as you get NEXT point(s) faster... Wait -were the batteries condition for Rover? If yes, and you can build it now, then i apologise, Rover is stil THE thing. And nope, you still neeed Mechanics workbench, and that needs few other things... no Rover immediatelly. New ATV would be nice however, 50% faster and greater range...
Need the workbench to unlock the rover tech. I think the truck is best for searching near places, its faster, it charges and it protects from cold. Rover is slowness isnt that great for inside of 3km radius, unless you are just going to clear a ton of bases. But i am sticking with 'day raids' atleast for a while.
@@tristint.4857 Unless they changed something (which is good possible), Mars truck doesn't protect from cold, neither one can sleep in it. But is fast and self-charging. Good indeed. Rover is 33% slower, but true mobile home... long range, for several days, just keep it charged sometimes... with bed ofc. Also that BIG rack capacity, plus possibility to carry Container which is nearly bottomless... you could pack whole base into it and move somewhere if you like to :)
@@tristint.4857 On second read, confirm that Truck is good enough, especially for trips without sleeping "outside" (outside your base)
I know the truck does protect from cold in current version, and i think the last version was the same, could be wrong. Im also trying to show off as much of the game as possible for people who are curious

Medium solar panel - Ecxellent! With that built, most of the worries about power are over... put one of these besides your vehicle while searching bases, and before you continue journey your vehicle shall be topped... (unless you do really quick-and-dirty search).
BTW, since you get electricity tech points for the amount of produced energy, then having few medium panels speeds up your next advancement (in electricity only, ofc)
Lol this is about as quick a d dirty a base search gets, go for the green tech tablet and just pick things up on the way to it.

Hello, i can see you're preparing for a exploration, and try to count what you will need for underway... i seen one player who built all the things he wanted to take with him on a field near his base, and only when everything was built, he took grinder and cut everything down... Since in this game, you get back 100% of what you used for building, he then was quite sure he had enough of materials with him... Took him only some extra time and tools usage (but that can be repaired by now)

You can make circuit boards in this version of the game. It is something you unlock as you progress. You’ll end up with more circuit boards than you need.
