if you have access to computer, a minimum 64gb USB drive and feel comfortable downloading software you can download and perform the software update yourself by going to Update.Genesis.com and downloading the Navigation Updater Program to your computer. From there you can log in under GUEST, find your model year GV80 and download the software to the USB drive. Once downloaded you simply plug the USB drive into the USB port in your vehicles console, go to your radio system settings and perform the update. These updates generally take a 1 to 3 hours to complete depending on how large the files are and and you want to have the vehicle engine running for the entire duration to prevent any battery drain as it can take some time to complete.
any other issues since? would you buy another g80?
So what was it??
I installed the GPS system upgrade. There is a new GPS map takes about three hours to load. Have not seen the issue since.
