Revalators can't play Led Zeppelin.
@@alexeymyagkov7865 these can
nope even the 18w series has its limits ;-) I have two of them as midwoofers an additional 11" woofer
good evening, if I understood correctly, by changing the tweeters and the crossover can they be transformed into studio 100? Please, which tweeter did you use and did you find the crossover scheme of the 100? thanks Simone from Italy
Yes you can! There is an extra layer of bitumen on all inside panels to give a 9mm total all around Seas 27tffc tweeter Join the ProAc speakers group on Facebook I’m the mod in there
There is a few changes on crossover , same schematic just change a cap & a resistor
Sweet...what make are the stands my friend?...loving this tune through my Audio Note AX2's.. via Qobuz !
Target R2 stands , filled with attabytes 35kg each
Would you mind sharing your crossover design?
I own a Proac Studio 1 MK2 but I would love to have a Studio 100 clone for my studio B. How do I contact you?
You got me on Instagram now shoot me a message
Hi, I'm very interested in the boxes. I saw a exchange with another subscriber in your comments where you were willing to accept $200 for them. My interest is based on the price being in that ball park. I do need to know dimensions and weight to get an estimate on shipping to the US. I believe your speakers sounded fantastic and would like to replicate them.
Not really on the market, but how much? Did you build them off plans?
Can you provide weight and dimension to calculate shipping... Thanks!
Google search Scanspeak Reference SE
website.audiocomponents.nl/scan-speak-referenceline.html
Its a dead link. I would like to buy them. Will need the dimensions of them boxed & weight for shipping/customs costs to make a decision. Also any pics you may still have from the project. Cabinet design/ construction as I would like to make another pair it even If i'm buying yours. Additionally, any crossover schematics & or pics. Hoping you can kick in the info with the purchase. Thanks, -CK
Sound as good as they look! Just subscribed!! Any future build plans?
Tweaking the ProAc K1 clone - The drivers from this are now in my Troels Revelator-66 This cabinet is for sale if interested
Can I please ask what stands you are using? Thanks.
Target R2 stands only on the used market now , no longer made
Do you build them for people? I will pay
The cost alone to build would be £700 Join the ProAc speakers group on Facebook we can talk more there
Which tweeters are those?
Aurum Cantus
Aurum cantus g2si
What size cabinets are those? are those 22 l cabinets?
Google search Scanspeak reference SE You should come across a review and specs in Dutch , it’s easy to pic up all the info from that The original had a 5 degree slopped front baffle , this is my own front baffle design
Great speakers What Tweeter are you using?
Scanspeak D3004/660000
Great sounding and looking loudspeaker did you build the cabinets? What scan speak drivers are using? Is that 7 in or 8 in?
Great looking and sounding speakers did you make your own cabinets? What Scan speak driver are using? Set a 7-in or 8-in?
Where are you based ? These cabinets are for sale
I live in Seattle Washington
How much do you charge for the cabinets
@@richardpowell6096 £200 but shipping from UK would be expensive
@@cloudyday3700 can you tell me what the internal volume is?
Did you make your own speaker cabinets? And can I ask you what scan speak drivers you're using are those 7-inch or 8-in?
Magnificent sound reproduction from these speakers. What brand of power amplifier is this in the middle ? :)
How does it compare to Scanspeak reference? Does it have more details? same? Is the soundstage bigger, ot same size? I made discovery 861 with stepped baffle and think that is works really good, but im building my own desing with steep tilted baffle so just wondering will i go wrong direction..
5 degree slant in theory ,should work the same as the stepped baffle but I’ve never tried Bigger sound stage and bigger and more controlled bass than the Scanspeak SE but the Scanspeak wins on looks
@@cloudyday3700 I see now that Scanspeak ref does not have slanted baffle but normal straight, the soundstage difference might be part of not having locked phase (withing 0-15 degree) as it is harder to make phase right with not physically aligning woofer/tweeter (as in stepped/slanted design) As i was prototyping my speaker, i disconnected the 913000 tweeter and tried several different tweeters on the top of 861. i suddenly had really diffused, smaller imaging, instruments were not locked in place. I noticed that i had accidentally moved left tweeter 1.5cm backwards from correct position, and after i corrected this it suddenly cleared up and everything was open again and correctly locked in their place..
@@matsurus Original Scanspeak Reference SE does have a slanted front , I just wanted a different look with the chamfers
Classic elements & classic cabinet shape, no wonder it sound good..
How much cost all without your work?
Crossover kit is around £400 but you buy the drivers yourself and then build the cabinet
Very cool. I have recieved the price for the components for this kit and plan to start the build in the new year when they arrive. I really like your version with this beautiful timber for the sides and baffels rather than the birch ply. What timber did you use ? Is it veneer over the ply or solid timber? Looks like very nice work
It’s all Birch plywood , Tamo Ash veneered Solid Oak strips down the edges of the front baffle
Tamo ash ! .. Ive never heard of that before ... ive just done a bit of research and it looks to be a very unique material - truely stunning ! = i was thinking to do my own custom finish to the cabinets but im going to find it hard not to just copy you !

It looks like you've built three speaker projects now. Do you have any comparative thoughts or insights? Just listening, on the admittedly limited you-tube, Troels' Revelator-66 impressed me the most, but it was hard to judge in this setting. Do you have a favorite or recommendation as to which you prefer or how you rank your projects?
The Rev-66 has really great bass and the tweeter is great The K1 clone is probably the best , great detail from that ribbon tweeter but you can’t get the woofers that easy from ProAc and if you could they’d be over £400 each Look at Troels Illuminator 71 , there’s a floorstander version I would make that but with the Rev-66 drivers and crossover
Great sound! Do you sell these clones?
I should do , I’m running out of space now
I would like to buy. Will you?
Please let me know whenever you have some available for sale. Thanks.
@@vaqarahmed2183 U.K. only ,as shipping is expensive
I will pay for shipping to the US
I think the Scanspeak reference you made sound better? What do you think?
Too much bass at times for the Reference SE , this cabinet is bigger and better
where can i found diy tutorial for this speakrs?

need felt on top of that edge
Naah
Doesn't seem to be much going on below 50Hz. For a speaker that size, I'd expect a lot more!
Can’t get it all with an iPhone and depends on the track , give me a title to play
@@cloudyday3700 I guess so, but the FR graph doesn't look that impressive.

I see you made few DIY projects. Are this the best in your opinion?
The 1st one with a stepped baffle and it really works ,huge sound stage and scale , deep deep bass but controlled , never boomy . You can make a floor standing version , front ported if you wish It’s big for a stand mount ,so good heavy stands are needed . You will not be dissapointed
wow sounds real
They look shite
Beautiful speakers
Very cool Love to see a walk around or some talking about them
More to come!
Yes please ...more details would be great
Nice work! Wich chassis did you use?

It does not make sense. So the shot of 90% of the speakers, for1/3 prices
Cost me around £800 to build , cost you £5000 to buy something from a hifi dealer to better it
I am going to receive a REL R528 to integrate with my ProAc Response D1. I hope it sounds the same!!! The supports that carry the Tablette are TARGET AUDIO?.
Is it the speakers or is it the subwoofer that make these boxes sound so big?.
Both
AMAZING!!!

Nice looking front baffle.
where do you got the right mass for the boxes??
Just made it all to the drawing that’s with it
Cracking sound - makes me wonder if Ellipticor is worth the extra 😮
Only one way to find out Gavin
Hi very impressive I have a curiosity What is the max thickness of the front baffle ? is it vertical or slanted ? congratulations Kind regards, gino
The centre of baffle is 25mm ,,,the outer edges of baffle is 50mm The original has a 5 degree slope
@@cloudyday3700 Thanks a lot I thought that the front baffle had a constant thickness with the angles chamfered It must be much more complicated than what i thought then
@@gino3286 the top & bottom & sides are 50mm, where the drivers are is just 25mm If you join the scanspeak diy speakers group on facebook you will see the pictures of how I did it
@@cloudyday3700 Hi thank you very much again now i understand But usually the panel where drivers are mounted on it is thicker because it is the weaker having the holes for drivers Anyway the sound is splendid and it is what counts ever Kind regards gino
