I never really counted but it should be good in about two hours. That’s pretty normal for Bandai color devices across the board. I would say try not to leave it plugged in for longer than 6 hours if you really care about it. That goes for ALL recharging devices.

Yeah, it’s just super unresponsive. When you press the block button there’s a second delay where it does the animation. The original game responded instantly like most games do so I don’t understand what’s with this one. It’s just kind of jank.

This. This is exactly my point! Only reason I’m going to get the 5 is because my channel is low key built on Retroid. I might as well do an unboxing and the very small power hike might make recording some games easier. But if you’re just looking to play ps2, there’s no reason for the extra price gouge. RP4 and 4 Pro are perfect.

@sockobottoh hey fellow PC gamer! Honestly I would have really recommended the 4 Pro. It’s much cheaper and you wouldn’t have to wait for the unknown ship date which will likely be months from now. The 5 is only very slightly improved for a huge jump in cost.

If your PLA seems crazy tight in the Bowden tube and just will not go through or come out and you’re sure it’s the right size, then it sounds like you have a roll that has not been properly stored. PLA absorbs water out of the air and expands over time so it has to be stored in an airtight container chock fill of desiccants to stay fresh or be kept in a dehydrating dispenser. You can sometimes fix a roll with a modified dehydrator (like the vegetable kind) but it’s pretty easy to accidentally cook your rolls which makes them totally worthless. So basically if you suspect your roll has expanded due to not being stored right, then all you can do is toss it or find someone who can upcycle it. I hope that helps!

When all three are capable of running ps2 era though, why choose $90 more for a negligible upgrade when you could get a 4 or Pro? That’s where I’m coming from. The 5 doesn’t offer anything so much better or new that it should be that much money.

A smidge better than the 4pro, not the 4. But yes, the much nicer screen, a chip that’s much more efficient so better battery consumption. She compares it to the base 4 which the 5 is quite a leap in performance relatively. Video is borderline misinformation.

The RP4 already looks incredibly crisp. AmoLED might be nice but it’s still not worth the price hike.

I forgot there’s a difference between 4 and pro but even so the base IS capable of ps2 era if not as efficiently as the pro. That was the entire selling point of the 4. Making a pro version is an annoying modern gimmick I hope will die soon, anyway. Just make one product and make it good.

@@inkspecter it’s not that the pro is more efficient, it’s outright more capable and the 5 is slightly more so. The difference in price is a lot more than the screen here. I get that you want to say that the RP4 is a compelling buy still, but I think it’s just two different customers. Anyway, I apologize for sounding so harsh in my initial comment. Just trying to make sure people are getting proper information. There are reviews for the RP Mini out which is functionally identical aside from having less RAM and a different resolution/ratio screen and it’s certainly a performance improvement. Again, sorry for being so fussy about it. I’m still here for the Dark Cloud videos.

You haven’t played Minecraft? It’s so chill fam. I hope there’s time but I don’t have a lot of hopes like I did for Sonic because of how they responded in a recent live event which I talk about in a video soon.

I played and beat them a long time ago when they came out so I definitely plan on revisiting them soon with a play through here! I’ve played X a ton too though I haven’t beat it, I poked around in Daxter a bit, and I have at least put the disk in for Frontier. We don’t talk about that mess though… 😂

Why not just get a regular and save all that money? The graphic bump and no disk drive just isn’t worth it. Alternatively you could also get a Retroid 4 for only about $140 and play every emulator up to PS2 era plus all the newest games via the Steamlink app. Mainstream consoles are just not worth it these days. They don’t even really have exclusive games that you can’t just play on Steam. I mean you could even get the best possible SteamDeck package for less and be out of the toxic abuse loop that Sony and Microsoft have built to trap their customers.

@@inkspecter very reasonable. I believe that I will get a regular and then fix my Xbox s to run emulation on that so i can have some decent couch co-ops with my girlfriend. Sony does not have enough local multiplayer games that we both can enjoy.

This is Dark Cloud 2! It’s a decent little dungeon crawler but if you’ve never seen the series I highly highly recommend the first game. It’s so flawless I’ve beaten at least four or five times at this point. I played it earlier in the year on my channel if you’re interested in that series!

Everything posted on this channel this year was recorded with the Retroid 4 with the exception of a couple obviously pc only titles. The earliest ones are even editors and uploaded directly from this device! It’s really an underrated beast. I’d get my hands on one while they’re still available, especially since they’re so much cheaper than the 5.

The thing about characters like Elon firing off huge portions of their staff is, we don’t get to see how many people they’re then hiring overseas. And we know these big companies mostly hire people for dirt cheap from impoverished places. So it’s really a sleight of hand trick. Was twitter really employing that many people they didn’t need? Doubt it. Was there some extra staff? Probably. But the idea of these huge companies have razor thin margins is just another sleight of hand when their top level staff like the CEOs, who do no work at all, take such huge salaries. It’s all a big scam. It’s not less workers that would make companies lean so much as less profit being funneled into the soulless goons at the top that have no interest in the end product outside of it making them look good and feel special. Ultimately smaller companies paying normal wages to top leadership makes more sense. Capitalism ultimately calls for competition and we have almost none of that with all these buyouts.

I feel especially bad for younger generations that are being blocked at every turn by modern game companies from even knowing about older games. It’s one reason I started this channel. To show off excellent old games and indie titles that blow so called triple and quadruple a titles out of the water without even trying. We really are in a dark ages of gaming in a way and the alchemists and thinkers of our era are emulation console creators and indie devs 😂 i really believe they’re the future and the sooner these big companies crash and burn the better. You definitely don’t have to support capitalism OR communism. Were falsely propagandized that you can only choose what someone else already put on the table. But that isn’t how a real democracy works or any kind of functioning government that’s responsible and responsive to the people. We get the to carve out laws that make sense for our time and place. Any one who feels the need to label such decisions by the people as communist or socialist are simply not paying attention to our needs and is being sensationalist to protect their own wealth. I reject both. Communes is a cute idea on paper but it was NEVER designed to be a functioning government which is why it literally never works. Capitalism is basically glorified piracy. Nihilism on steroids. Nothing matters but making capital for the individual who is able to slash the most throats to get what they want. It was never stable but propaganda is strong when money flows. We need something in between all these stupid terms.

@harrietr.5073 to be clear when I say modern game I mean games made recently when corporations realized that gaming could be heavily commodified. Games made by triple A studios in other words. Early mainstream games of the 90s to mid 2000s were still made by recognizable individuals and teams and the human touch was still visible. There was still intention. Now there’s very few recognizable teams. Most game companies we loved have been absorbed by the worst in the industry. Indie games still are very good as they carry the torch of the 90s golden era. It’s not that games are perfect from that time. It’s that they were human. They were made to be fun. Triple and now quadruple a titles… they only exist for stocks and return on interest. It’s the hyper-capitalization that’s smothering creativity in gaming and in most industries today.

@justfriss6274 there is and it’s great! Check it out, it’s FromSoft’s first title on the PS2 and I beat that game just before this one. There should be a playlist (if there isn’t I’ll make one soon but they all have episode numbers in the title still).

Even though Minecraft is super popular, I still meet people who haven’t played it and even more who played a long time ago and never tried the newest versions. The guy I’m playing with is actually a little in the latter camp and I’m hoping this new world will stick because I like a lot of the newer content. So the title is kinda for those people, older players who aren’t sure if somehow new is bad or people who never gave it a shot 😁 and definitely should!

It’s just tough because most people stop watching my vids 2 minutes in. So I would love to barely edit at all for real and make old school real play through. But I think UA-cam would punish me for it ☹️ so I try to just show the highlights of new stuff happening and not the repetition. Ideally though this snapshot will make you wanna play! Because this game and FromSoft’s pre-Souls work is really amazing. Hopefully soon I can actually try to livestream and then I think I that’s the best of both worlds. I can edit down the footage from that and you can see the whole game in action ✌️

Omgosh for REAL. I feel like it honestly is exactly what every kid wanted. And the fact that modern digivices don’t even come close to this? And that it’s a rare collector thing never meant for kids? It’s a crime honestly. Bandai is just nuts. But yeah I don’t think (I don’t have them so I’m not sure) even the recent Ver Complete or Last Kizuna compares in detail. This device is closest to the CSA devices which actually have no gameplay. They only do animations and sounds purely for nostalgia, display, and cosplay. So the fact that we finally got a mixture of playability and high fidelity media? Incredible! I’m so glad this is my first d2 digivice since the original waves. Tamagotchi is sorta getting there but not quite yet. The smart and uni are probably the closest as they have pretty high quality smooth animations and nice close up cut ins similar to this. Sound is still chirpy though which is a bummer. I doubt Bandai will ever be brave enough to put a real sound card in a tama sadly! The smart is my favorite tamagotchi btw, I highly recommend it! It’s got quite a lot to offer now and it’s even moddable even though it’s pretty new. I hope to mod my little clown character onto on soon!

Hecc yes!! It’s so snazzy. I really love that they combined the different battle mechanics from all the early versions especially. It’s such a huge upgrade!!

Yeah sadly only twelve more episodes left of Kings Field! But don’t worry, Dark Cloud is next and I plan on playing KF 3 again soon. I beat it recently but didn’t record it, but it’s better than 4 in my opinion so I absolutely have to get that one on the record!

I think I’ve seen that guy in a review and he looks tough 😰 I totally recommend playing this game! The middle to end drifts off course I feel, but the first half is SO perfectly atmospheric, mysterious, and creepy! It’s worth it. I’ve started this game so many times because of that. It’s nice to finally finish it though. But 3 is excellent from stem to stern.

I mean, yes people will spend money when they get addicted to gambling. That’s how addictions work. But if you want to run a casino, why call it a game company? So it’s unsurprising they’re having to shift. The reboots too will only work to some degree. For instance I love Digimon to death but Bandai is a major culprit when it comes to rapidly churning out cheap junk. They buy it but they hate it and it’s not long until there’s another boycott. Even if you’re addicted to a series you can only throw so much money after trash. These companies have forgotten that the only reason they exist in the first place is innovation that created the franchises they’re now trying to ride into the ground. So it’s just crazy all round. It seems like half baked business ideas that focus on short term games instead of long term growth. If you Digimon it, stick around! This channel is all about beating cool games and having a good think 😁

@@inkspecterto be honest, it makes sense for Konami to prioritize their pachinko machines because they are their most profitable products by far. The issue was that they completely abandoned their games instead of using them as a form of soft power. Honestly, we probably wouldn’t even be getting these remakes if Covid never happened (and shut down all pachinko parlors for a time).

@phabiorules even if it’s profitable, it’s pretty wretched isn’t it? I’m personally very against peddling addiction. Games in general can be addictive as they all have reward elements but straight unfiltered pachinko/gambling elements is just abusive and scammy. So even if it makes money it just boggles my mind to see companies with good reputations give up on what made them successful in the first place and jump on easy money predatory practices. I guess one good thing came out of the pandemic in the end, but we’ll have to watch and see if the lessons stick!

FOR REAL. Having an economy balanced on essentially a casino system is just nuts. A company should do well if their product is actually good. Not because a bunch of tech bros decided to gamble on it. @Jurglenuts for real. 90s media was so good because it was inspired and influenced by off the wall creatives, namely Monty Python. If you try things, you’ll probably be successful. Maybe not now but in that case you’ve probably made a cult classic and in a way that’s kinda better. But businesses are so cowardly and short sighted now. I am not a c0*mmunist or socialist sympathizer SO here is my two-cents on the issue⬇ The stock market is an appraisal of debt holdings. It is a bank of sorts that often involves a hell of a lot of people to asses the worth of a investment (research / mining / production). More people assess where money goes than ALL government officials on the planet combine. Government often su*ks at managing cost/risk factors.

investor capitalism is definitely the main culprit behind much of the capitalism complaints, it is very different to traditionally owned businesses, it is that incentive for growth each year to satisfy your investors that causes so much of the hypermonetization in video games and even just regular software. If more gaming companies were like Valve things would be a lot better, wholly privately owned, no investors breathing down your neck looking to replace you with a puppet CEO to ruin it all, like with a lot of the other ones.

I would like to say from my initial experience it was more like just ‘how to die’ and I had to stumble on a random explanation of an adjacent game title to begin to sort out how to run away 😂

​@@inkspecter I'm a huge fan of DD and DD2. As always though, even for games I love, I recommend getting it on sale. Personally, considering the staff restrictions and that they had to rebuild everything from the ground up 2 console generations later, I have a lot of patience for what they brought to the table and sincerely hope it's not another decade before we see a new entry in the series. They made some changes I dislike but otherwise understand, and I'm one of the people who bought every piece of dlc for the first game because I was obsessed and had more money than sense at the time. At the end of the day all I'm saying is give it a chance, they're both worth it imho.

Oh yeah absolutely! I only stopped because it was getting a little crazy to juggle so many games that required deep level grinding. Everything I’ve started earlier this year is what I’m going to tackle and finish first, but lunacid I’m especially looking forward to since it’s clearly a love letter to Kings Field, my favorite series!

I agree wholeheartedly and I think I’ve talked about the capitalism problem in general somewhere in my first dark cloud play through. Yeah it’s pretty rough living here… I think about moving to another country a lot too with Japan pretty high on the list. I love how organized everything seems to be there. I’ve already started studying the language! Sometimes people will talk about how they think America is awesome and I explain it’s basically a work camp if you’re not a billionaire. 💀

I've been explaining the same thing to people here! It's really hard. I'm still learning Japanese. It's hard to get practice in when I'm mainly using English at work, after work I'm busy until 9 pm 😭. It's fun though, I hope your having fun studying. I think the Genki Book is really good. I've been looking for a study partner for Genki to do the verbal exercises with, but my wife doesn't want to study with me haha. I've been just practicing on random people at the convenience store.

So far I’m picking at Duolingo. I know it’s not ideal but the repetition is helpful so far. I was doing really good with learning hiragana but starting on katakana has really slowed me down 😂

@DustinEmersonD at least you feel really smart when you can recognize and write kanji but katakana is like!!! Is two of the same thing actually necessary! 😂 I get how it’s used to differentiate but it’s still just… omgosh so annoying to relearn a second version of the same character set.

I’ve gotten as far as the second dungeon so far and it’s really cute! I’m enjoying it a lot so far. You should start seeing videos for next month. 😄 Adding Rogue Galaxy to my play list!! They you for the recommend, I’ve heard of anything else they’ve done besides these two.
