I wanted to do a series on the thirteen postures of Taijiquan. This will be a very brief introduction to each. To be followed with a much more in depth analysis.
Taiji Beng (stick) 4 & 5
Переглядів 502 роки тому
These are the Taiji Beng (Stick) drills as taught by Master Zhang Xue Xin in multiple seminars conducted in the St. Louis area. Taiji Beng is meant to be used for solo practice of Chin-na and Anti-Chin-na. Used in this way these exercises help to develop a strong stance, strong grip and proper body mechanics for applying and countering chin-na techniques. I will cover one drill in each video an...

Again, bad audio, but you'll get the gist. Also, I lost a little bit of the first part of the video, so it starts off in the middle of my demo, but the important part is all there. This is the second section of the Hunyuan 46 form as I learned it. The 46 form is the last form developed by Grandmaster Feng ZhiQiang, the founder of the Hunyuan style.

My favorite takedown
These moves are not at all practical.
These are not meant to be practical applications. They are easily identifiable illustrations of concepts used in Taijiquan.
If you're really lucky, while you're dancing with his left arm, he will only use his totally free right hand to pick his nose instead of bashing your face in with it.
Thanks. That was great. Had been curious about Wu Hao style, but on its own without explanation it is hard to make out. Your step by step intro was very good.
Hmmm… maybe I missed something- but Ar-15 was in the mud just one side…. Hmmm
Yes it was. That has always been a criticism of our test. However, there are no openings on the other side of the AR. So, we didn't really think it made any difference.
Strange to see a gray thick Troy! Good to see you!
Yea. I don't know what happened. i turned around one day and there was a whole lot more of me. good to hear from you!
Where is section 4,5 etc ? Don't keep me hanging Troy! 😅
Thank you for your time and energy in documenting this form from this Style of tai chi👍
I want to learn 83, can didn't get anyone on youtube, so my question can this form help to learn 83 , or 48 is completely different from 83. Means is following this 48 worth for learning 83,
The 48 is just the 83 without all the repeated movements. So, yes, it is worth learning the 48. The forms are identical up to the 9th posture, wade forward and twist step. Then there is a repeated section, 7-9th postures, followed by the 10th through 20th postures. So, learning that part of the 48 will give you a real head start on the 83.
Sir you mean i have to learn upto 20 postures , or whole form. For 83
I'm saying that, if you learn the first 20 postures of the 48, it would be very easy to transition to the 83, because 48 and 83 are nearly identical up to that point. @@Radheychib
@@menith ok sir thanks
Can we get hunyuan 83 forms beacuse your 24 form videos build my basic choreography. Is there free videos of 83 form avilable
I would love to do a series on the 83. This spring, when I can film outside, I will do my best to accomplish that. I will also try to finish the 48 Jian and the 46 cannon forms. I have plans to catalog the entirety of the Hunyuan system I have learned.
Thanks for your kindness. Sir
Why 24 , 48,71,83 forms
I'm sorry, were you asking a question?
Yes sir, why so many forms, and i am confused which one is most efficient one, because as movement goes further mind take over and original got lost, I have mental understanding not embody ment experience. So confused Hope you got my question.
I think I understand your question. The Hunyuan system has 9 empty hand forms, that have been developed over time, by Grandmaster Feng. Some, like the 48 form, were developed to be a more efficient way to practice. Others, like the 24 cannon form, were developed to round out the skill set. The 24 form, that is now the standard, was developed both for beginners and for people with little time to practice. I recommend learning the 48 form, if you want to maximize your practice. The 48 is just the 83 form without the redundancy. for example, the 83 has 3 sets of Wave hands like clouds. The 48 has only one. While the 3 sets in the 83 are all different, they embody the same set of principles and most of the same body mechanics. so, it is more efficient, from a time perspective, to practice the 48. I hope that help? Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
@@menith so from TIME perspective 48 form is efficient, what about the physical, emotional, mental ,spiritual , martial and healing effectiveness for which actually we are practicing tai chi. So in terms of effect which is most efficient 83 or 48
I would say that the 48 is the most efficient for physical and martial practice. The 48 can be practiced twice for every one time that the 83 can be practiced. It also has great benefits for health. However, the 83 is more conducive to meditation. So, it is better for the spiritual, emotional and mental aspects. It really depends on your focus. However, that is not to say that the 48 is not good in those aspects or that the 83 is not good for physical and martial aspects. I believe that any form can be very meditative, once the choreography becomes second nature. @@Radheychib
Eventually, if the AR is repeatedly sustained in muddy environments for long periods of time, mud *will get in the action* and it will be game over.
Well explained I'm going to give it a try best wishes from Scotland
Thank you!
DI is where it's at it blows all that crud out of there . And tight tolerances help
That seems to be the case.
I think an AK gassed a little heavier would do a lot better. It makes me wonder if Zastava was gassing these for combat or the range.
That's a very good question.
My SKS is great. And Not. I think it’s more me then the gun
No gun is completely impervious to mud, despite what the fanboys say. I love my SKS, but understand that the Ar or AK are probably better choices if I have to actually do any fighting.
Thank you for uploading!!!
Throw some actual dirt inside of that plastic pos and it'll lock up completely
Mr. Second Amendment 's AR Field Reliability Test video on UA-cam does that...and the AR still works.
waiting with eager anticipation to see part 4
Troy love your video. You should have more views and subscribers. I think dressing in sefu attire may add a little "FLARE". I don't need the flare, but the videos you are offering. Thank you so much....kawkenchi...see you in Orlando 2023 ( 25th year)
The AR worked well in this test, but if you were to reload and cycle the bolt with the charging handle, stuff will inevitably get in there and shut it down. The sealed action and dust cover setup is a double-edged sword. Stuff will always get in there. The closed nature of the design makes it harder to get it back out.
Thank you Taiji Brother.
The winner should be found by the less required cleaning time to make the gun run again. Soviet ones will be easier and faster to clean up. No country had to fight the wars so hard as Russia so they put reliability on 1st place. Make a melting test - how many mags in full auto gun can put through. AK7.62x39 will be the winner(less bullet speed equals less barrel overheating) or try freezing rain test. Many Canadian people choose SKS for reliability as AK is not available. Comparing AK and AR is like comparing subaru WRX and jeep rubicon. Each one will be good in conditions it made for.AR is great weapon for mid distance engagement in normal condition- no extreme cold, no desert, no mud. I would be interested to see how AR would cycle at -50C’ at Yukon…
To clean an ar literally push two pins and it comes apart.
Thank you Troy!
Thank you for the review! Looking forward to the other videos! Time to feel the burn...
Britt, bring yo ass back to class. I miss you.
Ohh this was herd to wach lol. Great test
🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔😁😁😁
AR power 💪
okay it can stand a little mud but maybe break easily and the sks works good when you water it up and take the mud off
Where the AK wins hands down is remedial action. Literally remove dust cover, take out bolt/carrier and flush with a canteen, piss or whatever is at hand. The AR is better at keeping mud out yes, however if some gets in good luck getting it going again without a detail strip and clean.
Do you have the whole set of kata up to 2nd dan? It has been years since I practiced and would like to go through them all.
Actually, yes, I do. I haven't filmed them, but I do have the video of Shihan-Dai Quigg.
Так себе тест. Диз пожалуй. И вообще - это стрельбище? Не похоже. Ты уверен дядька, что за ёлками никого нет? Если нет, то ты дятел, а не стрелок. Переведите ему на егоный англицкий.
I had to use google translate to understand. No, we were not at a shooting range. But we were in a shooting area. No one goes to that area for anything but shooting. And we were shooting into the side of a mountain. The trees you are referring to are not in our line of fire.
It's "just" 56,741 dead Americans. It's "just" untold misery, suffering and economic devastation for hundreds of thousands who "just" thought they knew better than their own primary care doctor. This posting "just" cause me to report this BS to YT and block your channel. So yay for you.
Thank for this...an excellent review and instruction
Thank you very much.
What, what?!
good job only covering ONE side of the ar15 in mud.
Tell me how many holes there are on the other side of the AR15? Exactly zero, so what would be the point? Still, yes we were inconsistent.
AK china or other not Russia
Sk yes. Any day. All day. Every day. The best one gun for any and all purposes
Congratulations for finishing this tutorial. Thank you for sharing.

I have been asked to "RE-Champion" myself. You will get me there. You are a lifesaver.
I'm very glad to hear that you're getting back into Hunyuan. I intend to catalog everything I've learned in the style. Then I want to really get into the minutia and totally get geeky with the mechanics of the art. You taught me a lot back when we were training together, under Sifu Herb. I'm very happy that I can finally return the favor.
You have saved me from embarrassment.
