Jack, how many acres is that lime supposed to cover - about 1 ton / acre? (pH below 6.0 is really bad for crop performance). I suggest that you check this out this application rate with your fertilizer supplier and ask also about other essential minerals such as magnesium, manganese and sulphur. I ask because it does not sound like enough to me especially with barley which is particularly sensitive to soil acidity. I would think that on light sandy soils you will need to go again with a further dose in the early spring time next year. Remember also that lime is needed by all plants to make use of Nitrogen whether from natural or artificial sources such as urea or ammonium nitrate or sulphate. Dan

Do you load and spread your own lime or is it a supply and apply deal with a merchant for you? We used to apply it whenever the tackle could travel without causing ruts Autumn was favorite or early spring but we have evn applied it when the ground was frozen hard but this did cause some wheel damage to the small crop.

It's the commonsense rule and the guy should be refunded and apologised to. Totally agree with you and Olly. Who grassed him up? That's what I'd like to know? Where does the fine money go also? Is it to the free parking and they divide it up between themselves? The guy really should contest their decision as the next thing you'll know is kids wont be allowed in cars. Kids are allowed to go cart, race mini bikes etc... am i missing the point? Not a rant at you obviously. Perhaps, if you know him, you could forward this to him. My only hopes are he contests and they don't ban go carts etc.

Children in today’s tractors are safer as you say than running round If not safe in tractor are they safe in a car / van ? Today legislation needs to be updated as do a lot more old laws

I would rather you had a child where you can see them sat next to you ,most kids years ago learnt to drive by going in the tractor with someone ,there is not much joy in this world at the moment, why take away the joy that the grandad and grandson have ,it's so sad ❤

Yes I agree with you the Law needs to change if it's a modern tractor with a buddy seat they should be aloud to ride in the cab but if not like on an old tractor then it should stay the same because where will it end they'll say kids under the age of 13 can't ride in a farm buggy on the farm or even a pick up
