Joe Besser must have been a comedian of some note in the '40s/'50s. Several cartoons of that time have featured characters imitating his voice, persona, and phrases ("You crazy"! Not so faaaast"!). My favorite was an elephant who said to Elmer Fudd after hearing Bugs and Daffy suggest Fudd hunt elephants "You do and I'll give you such a PINCH!" in an unmistakable imitation of Joe Besser.

This AI voice has butchered her name.

When I was much younger, I always felt Joe Besser was a weak third stooge especially when compared to Curly and Shemp. Watching the shorts with him today, now I have a higher opinion of his work, especially when compared to his weak replacement, Joe Derita, who tried to mimic Curly and failed miserably.

It's not hard to see why. Pernell Roberts was a self over-rated cry baby who took himself way too seriously. You can see it in his acting style; always over emphasizing his "seriousness" in blatant contrast to his co stars right there in the opening credits. It's laughable and the mark of a bad actor. He thought he could get acting parts after he literally walked off the set. Incredible arrogance and the biggest over inflated ego of any Hollywood idiot now or since. Aside from Trapper John MD; he spent his remaining career pretending to not regret anything. He did a bad job acting that too.
