Quick Wonder Boy 1cc that I played on Twitch a while ago. Lost too many lives so the final score isn't near my best (2,009,050). Deliberately didn't go for the complete set of dolls, which are required to access Area 8, as I still need to learn the levels properly. TWITCH ►► www.twitch.tv/charliefar TWITTER ►► _CharlieFar

Carnival - Twin Galaxies MAME World Record - 131,120

Carnival MAME Twin Galaxies World record - 131,120 This one came as a bit of a surprise. I've not been playing Carnival as much in the last few months, maybe a couple of games a week at most. Had a few average games before this and then dropped this game. It's a brutal game that requires both accuracy and speed. There's also a fair amount of RNG that can affect the games difficulty. I think it ...

You need to do a 10 hour video like they do on UA-cam like 10 hours of a certain subject or sound! lol Did the Galaxip stop shooting when you pressed the missile button at the end ? The Entex Games were Galaxian 2 (I always wondered what happened to Galaxian 1 before someone told me it meant 2 player Lol in which case Galaxian Duel would have been a better name imho. wiki says it was Astro Invader in Europe, Astro Galaxy in Japan and Futuretronics in Australia. I have an old video of the Entex brand on my channel. I have to try the test mode holding down the missile button while turning it on.
great score best for me was around 675000 back in 1981-1982.love this game have brought a full stand up old arcade machine so aim is to beat my high score but being 59 it might be a challenge.
Love this game, pure skill and mental focus. You are a grandmaster at this.😊
Glad to see someone else who uses a big ass arcade controller to emulate a C64 joystick! (I do the same for Speccy and Atari games too!)
Mighty fancy shootin' there partner, no doubt. "Galaxian" is one of the games that I can remember the first time I saw it and played it at Ocean City Md. Boardwalk arcade. Galaxian was in a class by itself and the RGB color graphics looked...amazing.
The music is absolutely superb
To guy in video. Msme seems to be same thing as arcade version Galaxian. So I can get around same score as on msmr as on arcade version. So. Just kee practing ms.e gslaxian version right ? Also. Being g thst it takes 7 hours and something. How often do you practice when not playing for 7 hours ? How many hours you stop at ? And what other games are you efficient at ?😅
The CRT filter settings you have on here makes the colour palette look correct to how should be on an arcade cabinet. Be interesting to see what R-Type II looks like with this filter, see if it improves its earthy colour palette.
I don't understand these forever movable "rules" from Twin Galaxies... If it's not in the original cabinet, with ALL the original hardware, how can it count as "ORIGINAL arcade hardware"?
sorry, this is quite, quite, quite, quite a boring game.......
Dude, you are a MASTER at this vintage arcade, simply put. Well done.
You have the gold medal for your country in galaxian discipline. congratulations!!
It's a shame this is only 480p.
I love this game i have me a arcade buy but its harder then a controller for me😂
Basically you can play this forever on one coin. It's just how long you can resist sitting in the same spot.
If i remember well it could get even much harder after 15 or more hours. Completely full screen with all aliens attacking at same time from thé very start of the level 😂 not even one static fuckin alien from first second till comple élimination 👾 shorter and shorter set Great job tough
looks like you gave up at the end
The way you don't miss the aliens in formation as the move across the screen, when I play every 3rd shot goes in the gaps.
ARCADE IS'T RUNNING LIKE IT SHOULD, IT IS VERY SLOW, I CAN REACH ALL WW RECORDS THIS WAY.
I wouldn’t play this game for seven hours no way
Playing Galaxian for over 7 hours with only one quarter.....thats value for money!!!!😊
246 waves
If only Billy Mitchell recorded like how u did 😂🤣😙😗😘😍😚🤗 Great skill man respect
In the arcades back in the '80's, I played this religiously. This is one of the greatest space shoot 'em ups of all time. Galaxian will always hold a special place in my arcade playing life.
Watch out Pinge! :P ggs
Like most games of the era,,,the end is anticlimatic beyond description lol. WELL DONE tho...felt like yesterday watching that.
I managed to complete it once. A lot of the game involved learning tactics and where to position yourself. The kids in those days learnt off each other.
You are definitely awesome...I used to know a guy named Glenn Dean (GDD), whose high score in the day was ~650,000... this was in the SF Bay Area .. Have you played Super Galaxians? There used to be a version of this where a solid seven wave with a yellow ship would swing across (some off the screen and then back on) the entire screen every so often like a hairpin turn....it is craziness... there's a video of this, but the machine I remember playing was even more extreme with the swings ..
Nice game!🎉 My high score on this was ~93,000, but I only got to level 7...I got a lot of Bonus and did better on the bears, so I am really surprised...hmm...maybe because I would wait on the first two or three levels for a long time to get more points and bullets from the left side box, the ducks sped up later for me? I saw a guy who was a lot better than me, he got 133,000+ on one game, all the games he played were over 100,000....he was a master at the bears, he was able to hit the bottom two for another cycle even after they sped up to moving faster than the shooter...his bonuses were also huge...this was back in the early 1980s, at UC Berkeley in California.
what equipment are you using?
This was played for a competition. We had to use the supplied emulator, WinUAE. I do have an A500 but always use a MiSTer when streaming
Loved this game on my A500
Lord have mercy, I only ever once saw the big 10 flag, and that wasn't me anyway. Amazed.
2nd!
My alll time favourite game. Lived in Margate from 82'till 83'. I held the record at Space city arcade. Somewhere around 150'000. Great game play BTW.👍
GG!
David Lyne, where have you been in 2 years ago⁉
It's been a while. I've been busy Twitch streaming which is great fun.
Not a patch on the C16 version
Everything's better on the C16. Said nobody.
Looks like the foot tickle is OP 😂
I'll never see this game in the same way again.
Nice work 📼
Cheers Edd!
el verdadero galaxian...
What kind of set up is this? Pretty clean.
A SEGA New Astro City cab with an original Galaxian PCB inside
How does this not have 1 mil views 😊
Greetings, Starfighter! You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the Frontier against Xur and the Ko-dan Armada.
Is the music available as a chiptune download?
You're very good at galaxian
Can you play Dragon Buster?
Always fun watching gameplay. I like the Japanese ROM version on MacMAME from what I recall that places the screens in order so it ends with DK landing on his head to end the rescue 'story'. The birthday cake/long fall level I always found boring except for the taunt trick. or is it a wedding cake since Jumpman gets the girl lol I think he got an agent to be call himself Mario lol I have a collection of 80's Electric Games magazines (they also have pdf's) on the Internet Archive. Brings back memories.
I loved playing this one ColecoVision on my Grandma's console TV whenI got it for Xmas. I still have it.
Approx 2:23:50 The Galaxian performs the old fly sideways baiting the Galaxip into running into it at the bottom of the screen by the huge flag while distracted by death from above ploy. From the camera angle it looked like the ship exploded prior to the Galaxian hitting it. It was like I was playing along with you. One of my favorite arcade games. My aunt had one in her bar we'd play at Xmas along with Frogger. My uncle liked to wait for the Galaxians to get as low as possible to pick them off. I can't recall what his scores were. When I used to play MacMAME along time ago at one point when they updated the ROM, the emulated audio made the wrong SFX when your ship was destroyed which sort of takes the fun out of it in a way. The last authentic arcade game I've played was Donkey Kong in remarkable shape at an amusement park's main arcade which was hot and humid. HI Score was over 100k points but a typical game was 75k which is a satisfying score in a venue like that. They auctioned off all of their classic arcade games and pinball machines some of those were rare when they put in redemption tickets for prizes style games. Although that includes a giant Pac-Man and Space Invaders. What's your HI Score on an authentic Galaxian machine in an arcade for the purists' out there? And what score do you think you could have achieved if you kept playing here?
Hey thanks for the comments. I really like background stories around arcades. I’ve never tried to beat this score at an arcade but have several times scored more than a million on an original cab.
Not sure what I could’ve scored. It was getting very tiring after 7 hours. You don’t get any break at al in Galaxian, and you get only 4 lives too.
@@CharlieFar How much different does the joystick feel between this and an authentic cabinet? It's interesting how I can play some games on Mac MAME better with an extended keyboard that has the arrow keys next to each other like a laptop but they're really large. I have a hard time playing multicades for that very reason especially with so many buttons in the way or if it has fighter game style joysticks. That amuseement park arcade had to put a Nintendo Donkey Kong stick on Zaxxon lol which made it easier to play imho I was good at Zaxxon anyhow. Amazing what a combo of ColecoVision and MacMAME can do for practice for the real arcade game even though as I mention the 'controls' are completely different you still get a confident feel for the game.
@@CharlieFar yeah that's what I was thinking you can't walk away from it since it doesn't have extra lives. I still have a hand held Entex Electronics Galaxian2 (2 meaning one player can control the Galaxians head=to-head football style). It has a mute button so you could play it at night however you cans till hear the button smashing lol It uses 4 'C' batteries but has a wonderful feel to it.
@@amusement420 I was using a 4 way restrictor on my stick so it doesn’t really feel that different to the arcade cab. Having said that, there are 3 types of controls available on Galaxian cabs. A 2way stick (closest to what I used), left/right buttons, and a paddle like control that you turned which was on some cocktail cabs.
Made it look easy.
