Переглядів 34Місяць тому
The CASA Core Model guides all CASA volunteers as they advocate for abused and neglected children. The Core Model prioritizes reunification with a child's birth family whenever safely possible. When that can't be achieved, the Core Model prioritizes placement with a relative. If that is also not a safe option, the Core Model prioritizes adoption and working to get the child back to a safe, perm...

wouldnt this be the responsibility of the foster parents?
All I've seen for the last 8 months is these people advocating for the abusive PARENTS I just took 2 babies (3 & 4 years old) to the hospital for scratches, BITES and bruises the day after their FIRST 4 day home visit
I am a former foster child and trust that THESE PEOPLE advocate for the ABUSIVE PARENTS
After what I've watched for the past 8 months... THESE PEOPLE ABSOLUTELY DO NOT ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN... THEY ADVOCATE FOR THE PARENTS Just ask the kids I had to take to the hospital (50 miles away) YESTERDAY after the CASA ADVOCATE demanded a 4 day visit. The oldest child reported it to HER foster mom and thank God she reported it. The foster parents of the 2 received a call from the police department demanding they bring them to St Joseph hospital These people are evil
NOT TRUE... I'm dealing with a foster home that CASA is involved with and PLEASE believe me when I say CASA ADVOCATES FOR THE PARENTS. Just ask the doctor who had to check 2 (out of 5) children yesterday after CASA demanded a 4 day visit and they were ABUSED AGAIN
Oh no, my gosh 😢
That is absolutely false. CASA can not “demand” anything.. they make recommendations but only a judge can order anything. It’s incredibly rude to dismiss and speak negatively about an entire organization of thousands of volunteers that are there to help children because one of them made a bad recommendation.
I would like to be a member of volunteer casa… my first languajge is Spanish but I would do my best to improve my English in order to be able to work volunteer with the children who need my help !!🙏🏻❤️🫂💁♀️
That is so brave of you, god bless you 🙏
What ages do you serve?
I’m so excited to get started.
May God bless volunteers and give them the wisdom , compassion, and patience needed to care for these children ❤
I am a Guardian ad Litem in the Charleston SC area and this is a really good video! I got a lot out of watching it. Thank you!
Thanks for you all humanities. God bless you all🙏🏾
Nice lesson, how can I be a volunteer?
Hamilton and Franklin County needs investigated for her unethical and unjust work ethic.
I am waiting to start the classes, and I'm super excited!
Thanks for helping others! Wishing you and your family good health.
JENN YOU ARE SUCH A BLESSING!!!
Jenn you absolutely ROCK!!!!
can foster parents know what going on in the court w the child from casa and Gal
NOPE, the foster parents HAVE to be there but they sit out in the hallway I drive an Amish foster mom and the children to ALL court appearances AND home visits so I SEE IT ALL After their FIRST 4 day visit (last weekend) I had to drive them 50 miles to be seen at the hospital after the Mishawaka police department called and demanded it. I'm absolutely disgusted with the way CASA ADVOCATES FOR THE ABUSERS
how can u find out if casa on case as foster parent...
Please don't involve them if you don't have to They advocate for the abusive PARENTS
what do the GAL suppose do..
I feel the 2nd Judges emotions❤️ and that is why I don’t know if I can do this Casa Volunteer. I would be crying every time 😢🙏🙏🙏
😂 Is this some type of joke. Maybe Casa advocates have changed, but I seriously doubt it!!
Why do you say this
Can you explain please?
NOPE... I drive an Amish foster mom to court and the children to visits and I'm here to tell you these people advocate for the PARENTS. I've been watching this for 8 months now. The children had their FIRST 4 day home visit last weekend. We picked them up Sunday evening and Monday morning I had to drive them 50 miles to the hospital because the police department demanded it Do NOT, under any circumstances, think these people are for the CHILDREN I'm absolutely disgusted. I was a foster kid for YEARS and never saw ANYTHING like this
CASA in Texas lied under oath in court...
Awwww that is awesome
I’m so sqd thqt Rochester MN doesn’t have CASA opportunities. The closest that O could fine are the Twin Cities.
I am in week 5 of my Casa training. I have passed mapp classes and would be a registered foster mother already if my home wasn't so old. But I found my calling in casa. I'm a part time aunt instead of a full time mother. The judge has an agenda to get their cases seen. The "Prosecution" has an agenda to clean out case loads as fast as possible. The bio parents have an agenda to prove. The ONLY person who has no intrinsic bias is the casa. We are not part of the foster system. alWe are not the bio family's attornwy. We are not clerical support. We are a friend who's whole job is to make sure the child's agenda is heard. A case I recently observed was a teenager. She had been in foster care for 2 years now. She is going to finish middle school this year with 3 months left to go. The judge said mom had completed all her needs and could take custody back. But our CASA volunteer (it was court observations day) made sure the foster system, the bio family, and the judge understood that if we wait 4 months for reunification it would go a lot smoother and healthier for all involved. Judge set the next hearing for may 30th. She will be able to attend the spring dance with her friends, she will be able to focus on "finals". The child will be able to emotionally prepare for reunification now that she knows it's likely and not just a fantasy. Become a casa. After the training your commitment is less than 10 hours a month unless you want more. Write a monthly overview letter, visit your kids at least once, and touch base with your casa coordinators. How long do you realistically think it will take to do all that in a month? Maybe 5 hours? And court is only every 60, 90, or 6 months. It's not a weekly commitment. Be a part time foster parent for a kid in desperate need of a stable adult. I promise it is worth it.
Awesome! 🙌
That was a very well expressed video that conveys the fundamentals of what CASA volunteers do, and I am highly thankful for your service.
God Bless These Angels!!!
So happy to havd found CASA and this video. I am hoping go be a volunteer. I've been looking for something to volunteer for and I finally found something I know I'll be wonderful at and that will help children in need.
I am a teacher who now has the time to volunteer. I am so excited to be able to help in this capacity!!!
This is very helpful to me as someone wondering whether I might be right for this critical responsibility and the role and expectations right for me. Thank you.
I work with the Washoe CASA Foundation in Nevada, and we are always looking for effective ways to communicate with prospective volunteers. This is an amazing, straightforward "101" class. Thank you!
I'm going to begin my casa journey in Clark county soon
I have been waiting for my 21st birthday to volunteer since i was 17. Next month i turn 21 and i am so exited to soon work with y'all.
