Yay Columbia! I'm going next year. It's stunning and no time zone change!
nice video
I enjoyed this. Thanks
#11 about electrical plugs is my #1 pet peeve. I hate crawling under furniture to plug something in. I always carry a 15 foot extension cord with me. It's white so it shows up against the carpet, and I won't trip on it. I like the lamps that have outlets on their base.
Who needs their hotel room cleaned daily? I certainly don't! You're putting the dirty dishes on the hotel? That's the responsbility of the person who ate off those dishes. Leave them in your room and let housekeeping take care of it the next day (especially if they are cleaning your room daily)! However, I guess if one is too lazy to go out for dinner, I should lower my expectations. I personally want to see the alarm clock when I wake up and go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I agree with the comments about the thermostat, shower print, and drapes!!!
Poor [energy efficient] lighting at the mirror where you are trying to work on your face…
As for the electicity requiring a card to activate. It doesn't have to be an active room card to work, any card will do, it would probably even work with a business card.

"I hope its that not well thought out Airline, 9/11 airlines"... Norm Macdonald
Has there ever been an airline that did not go bankrupt? When will new airlines realize that this is not a profitable industry? Governments and bankruptcy constantly overcharging for airport infrastructure and then bailing them out.
This is one of the reasons I see AA having a partnership with Citi to earn more bank money
Great video -- I am going to Italy with my husband to Naples and then Ischia for the 1st time-- we are excited and always looking for tip before we fly at the end of the month. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment! We are so glad we can shed some light on how to best prepare for an international trip. Have a wonderful time in Italy!
But Always buy hotel miles when they are at .5cents
UA flight attendants are not in a 30 day cooling off period. Get your facts straight.
Very interesting property. What is the asking price?
Steve & Paul … your weekly tips are great! Your 1st tip really resonated with me based on a trip we took in 2022 to Athens, Greece. Patty & I had been down town & took a taxi back to our Marriott hotel. As I was sliding across the backseat of the taxi to exit I was unaware that my Passport Wallet among with 300 Euros I’d just pulled from an ATM slipped out. It wasn’t till 4-hours later that I realized what had happened. We contacted the front desk of the hotel to see if their camera could pickup the taxi’s plate #, but it had dropped us in a spot that the camera was not able to pick up. We did freeze our credit cards from our Chase app and that did block an attempt that someone tried to use that card. But the next day, while our group departed for northern Greece I stayed behind, went to the U.S. Embassy and got a replacement, temporary passport & then took a 3-hour & $700 taxi ride to catch up with our group. Having a picture of our taxi’s license plate would have been a game changer!

Southwest use to be good… now they suck like all the rest
Too weird! Juneau to Vancouver on a luxurious cruise couldn't possibly satisfy a bucket list line item! The "not dark" is blue, not gray. It's mesmerizing, & so beautiful! A lot of what they talk about applies only to SE, which is a tiny fraction of AK.

Considering Southwest does not have IFE, Buy On Board or even the lowest fares, Open Seating was the ONLY reason to fly them. Elliot destroyed Southwest's 50 plus years culture in a matter of months. Congrats on alienating your loyal customers. Won't be flying Southwest anymore.
The amazing thing about this list is how many of people's pet peeves are things that don't affect them at all. Reclining the seat would be the one that bothers me the most. Pulling the window shade down during takeoff/landing is somewhat annoying as well.
Rename this video: "Top 16 reasons to get into a fight, thrown off and arrested as a passenger on an airline." Instead of drawing lines for battle, how about just chill for a few hours and deal with the fact that other people exist.
Things I have seen in first class that are classless. Try to spray perfume. Try to apply nail polish. Try to move bag from overhead with sensitive electronics in it. Clip toenails. I say try because I stopped it from occuring. All death penalty offenses. Multi million mile flyer.
How about top pet peeves of airline customers?
There better be big changes, ir else they aren't going to survive.
Well, Southwest will be losing me as a customer. I'm there for their seating procedure as it is now because I can always get the aisle seat in the back that I want as long as I check in on time. I like their No Change Fees, and free cancellation, and their Boarding Procedures. How long will the 1st Free checked bag stay until they start charging? Greedy Wall Street Suits will hopefully learn that there is a reason people are so happy with Southwest and changing them into a Tweedle Dum Airline is going to chase people like me away.
Still great Pilots and crew out of Phoenix!
Do the math on economy plus with 6 per row. With eight rows of economy or 48 people you go to seven rows of premium plus with 42 people. Economy plus is about 40% more in cost. Let's use $600.00 as a base price for economy or 48 passengers bringing in $28,800. . Premium plus with 42 people earns $35,280.00 or $6,400.00 for not much more in service. The amount of crew stays the same and you give the economy plus folks a little bit more of cheap fluff . Also your are not handling the luggage and carrying the weight of 6 people and their luggage That extra space the cargo hold can be used for freight revenue. It read " some place " that the freight cargo in the hold generates about 30% of the flights income ! So add a little more money in the cargo column .
I'm running every flight full from hub to hub... Only some out stations that were traditionally regional market have a few seats open...
south west does have some hubs
They call them Focus Cities....Dallas, Baltimore, Atlanta, etc...
@@77Badger Oakland, Phoenix, Chicago MDW......
I already fly other airlines because Southwest has changed. Do whatever you want but my loyalty is already strained and this will finish it off for many others
Ditto. Losing open seating was the nail in the coffin. Done with Southwest.
Southwest took advantage of lower fuel costs back in their formative years, combined with a fun-loving ceo, and a funny subculture among employees and passengers to promote repeat business. The economic turmoil in these post-pandemic years seems to be spelling out painful changes every airline must bring about to earn more revenue, as the man stated. Kudos to Wall Street investors keeping the airline alive, but investors expect a return! A sad but accurate synopsis seen here.
You summed it up with one reason why SWA will change..."SWA will become like every other airline." I fly on the big three and SWA often. SWA just sent out a detailed survey on possible coming changes and the vision is to be like the DAL/UAL/AAL and the changes I don't like. You kept referring to Wall Street and you should've called out who or what is steering this change...Elliott Investment Management. Research this activist investor and see what other companies (AT&T, Athenahealth, Alcoa, Cabela's, Comcast and many more), they have forced major changes and resignations as well.
Worked close to 17 years for Southwest Airlines and what was once a great company started by Herb Kelleher , fast forward in time and it is a terrible run company. Elliott and Paul Singer want Bob Jordan , Gary Kelly, The BOD, and the remaining corporate stooges out. Taking out the Trash. No respect for its frontline employees and customer base. The Southwest Culture Flatlined years ago. Southwest Leadership & Management never follows up with Employees and Customers with Concerns. Both are considered a Nuiasance to SWA Leaders. A total crime what Gary Kelly, Bob Jordan, and all the corporate stooges have done to Herb Kelleher's creation.
FAs and Pilot got record-breaking contracts and raises. Compared to shareholders who have lost value, employees have done well with this management team.
@@briangasser973 My wife still works for Southwest and trust me when i say that The SWA BOD, Bob Jordan, Gary Kelly, and their Corpoate Stooges do not need Go Fund Me Pages. They will all receive Golden Parachutes plus whatever they all can fleece before the possible takeover.
I agree with you on 4 out of the 5 points. I believe #5 will be that they buy some Airbus aircraft. The Max7 isn't coming soon...if at all. Their fleet is aging fast although they have one of the youngest fleets out there. An additional point to charging for seat selection, make it just a bit cheaper than the other guys. $15 vs. $35 for a preferred seat. So many ways to promote that as a "plus".
Clearly marked water bottle refill stations
I hate most of these suggestions! I like flying southwest because I’m able to get into A or at least B group just by paying attention and checking in on time close to exactly 24 hours prior! This way, I’m pretty much guaranteed a window seat! Without at least one free checked bag, there’s no reason to fly southwest! And I’ve found their legroom to be plenty comfortable! In fact they offer more legroom than most other airlines economy class! Please don’t turn into the jerks that most other airlines have turned into these days! We don’t need some jackass activist investor coming in and ruining another great airline and turning its customers against them!
Yes and right on south west needs to go back to its roots
The cattle call at SWA is long gone. Everyone has an assigned boarding order and it matters not if someone got in line in front of you, if you have a place ahead of theirs you still go first. B and C can stay seated while A boards, etc. Contrast that to the US domestic carriers who have assigned seats but everyone crowds the boarding gate still trying to get on board as quickly as they can. I always shied away from SWA for this reason until I flew them earlier this year and like that process better than Delta, American, and United.
To add, SWA already charges for preferred seating. That’s what EarlyBird checkin and some premium fare classes already provide and SWA charges extra for that. It’s not a preferred seating but rather a preferred boarding which on SWA now is the same thing. Bottom line though is SWA has staff who are much more friendly and courteous to customers than most US carriers. Makes for a more pleasant flying experience. In the end, they’re all just buses in the sky. Everything that the legacy carriers do creates the illusion of an enhanced experience but doesn’t change the fact that you’re still on one of those sky buses. I avoided SWA for so long, but had much better experiences on them this year than I have on any other US carrier in some time. Disadvantage to SWA is the 737-MAX (and other variants produced on the same line) which I’m not thrilled about flying. I generally have had better recent experiences on Airbus aircraft in terms of passenger comfort. Real game changer are planes like the A220 which provide much better cabin comfort than other aircraft. Hopefully any changes at SWA don’t diminish the positive experiences I listed above and SWA doesn’t just become like the other big three airlines.
And YES Please lose the in and out background lame Azz Music. Completely unnecessary.
