    THIS one thing absolutely kills my confidence on the bike 😩... not riding frequently enough. As a rider, consistency is key. Every time I go a week or more without riding, I notice a dip in my confidence.I start feeling hesitant, second-guessing myself & my abilities, and that smooth flow feels distant. The longer I go without riding, the more anxious I feel when I get back on. Anyone else feel the same?!?! Well, here’s the good news...your muscle memory is there to back you up, & with a few strategies, you can regain your confidence quickly. But first, LIKE & SAVE 💾 this post for later. • Start Slow After Time Off: The first ride after a break doesn’t have to be a big adventure. Find a low-pressure environment to help you get back into the rhythm without any added stress. Use this time to focus on the basics-throttle control, braking, and balancing-until you feel your confidence starting to return. • Trust Your Muscle Memory: Even after a few weeks off, your body remembers the mechanics of riding.Trust that! It may feel a bit awkward for the first few minutes, but you’ll notice that your muscle memory kicks in faster than expected. Practice some slow-speed maneuvers to shake off the initial nerves, and you’ll quickly feel more comfortable. • Ride in a Familiar Area First: Confidence comes from familiarity, so after some time off the bike, choose routes you know well. Familiar roads reduce anxiety since you already know the twists, turns, and potential hazards. This allows you to focus on your riding technique and ease back into the flow without worrying about unexpected surprises. Confidence is built through experience, so keep riding and keep growing.. & as always RIDE SAFE!

    It's the weight that makes it easier to handle. My Duke 390 for some reason feels like it's on rails as it's always trying to stay up right compared to my 650cc which is 50kg more heavier and easier to turn and corner.

    • @nicoleashley_moto
      @nicoleashley_moto 15 годин тому

      Yes! It's definitely easier with turns and cornering. I was very nervous to ride it home from the dealership, but as soon as I started going I immediately felt comfortable and found it a lot easier to handle!

    As a new motorcyclist, it's easy to get caught up in the excitement of riding with friends or joining a group ride. The thrill of the open road, the camaraderie of fellow riders, and the allure of speed can be intoxicating. HOWEVER, one of the most crucial pieces of advice for new riders is to "ride your own ride." This phrase, often heard in the motorcycle community, emphasizes the importance of riding at a pace and skill level that is comfortable for YOU! Here's why it's vital to "ride your own ride" as a new motorcyclist.. but first, LIKE & SAVE this post for later. 1• Safety First: Your safety should always be your top priority when riding a motorcycle. As a new rider, you are still developing the skills needed to handle various road conditions, traffic situations, and unexpected events. Riding beyond your comfort zone to keep up with more experienced riders or pushing yourself to match their speed can increase your risk of accidents and injuries. 2• Building Confidence: Confidence is key when learning to ride a motorcycle. However, confidence is built over time through practice and experience. Trying to keep up with more seasoned riders or attempting advanced maneuvers before you're ready can lead to mistakes, erode your confidence, and make you second-guess your abilities. 3• Learning Your Limits: Every rider has different limits that can only be understood through experience & self-awareness. By riding your own ride, you have the opportunity to learn your personal limits. Understanding these limits helps you develop your riding skills more effectively and recognize when you're ready to push your boundaries safely. 4• Enjoying the Ride: Ultimately, riding a motorcycle should be an enjoyable experience. By riding your own ride, you have the freedom to find your style and enjoy the journey on your terms. Whether you prefer a leisurely pace that allows you to take in the scenery or a more spirited ride that challenges your skills, the choice is yours. Embrace the journey of self-discovery and growth. For us female riders... (Especially us shorties) there are certain things you'll need to consider when purchasing your bike... First, make sure to LIKE & SAVE 💾 this post for later. Now, 3 things to consider when purchasing your first bike; • SEAT HEIGHT- this varies on bikes so find a bike with a lower seat height that you are comfortable with. (you don't need to put both feet flat on the ground, but make sure you can put at least your left foot flat while your right foot is on the rear brake.) • WEIGHT- you are likely going to drop your bike, especially as a beginner. Managing motorcycle weight is more about technique than overall strength. For your first bike, consider something less heavy • POWER- start with a bike in a lower cc class. Aire on the side of caution and gradually upgrade as you get experience. If you found this helpful, make sure to LIKE & SHARE with someone who may benefit from this! As a new rider, it’s crucial to be aware of common mistakes that can risk your safety and enjoyment on the road. Here are 4 common mistakes new motorcycle riders make & how to avoid them ⬇️ But first, LIKE & SUBSCRIBE so you don't miss my other content. NOW, here it is... 4 most common MISTAKES 1. Skipping Safety Gear: Yes, I'd love to rock a crop top & leggings.. especially in the warmer months of riding, but remember, the right gear can make a significant difference in the event of an accident. ATGATT! 2. Neglecting Pre-Ride Checks: New riders often overlook the importance of pre-ride inspections, which can lead to mechanical failures/unsafe riding conditions. Make it a habit to perform a quick pre-ride check before every ride. 3. Inadequate Awareness and Anticipation: New riders often focus too much on what’s immediately in front of them, neglecting to scan the road ahead and anticipate potential hazards. Develop a habit of scanning the road ahead and checking your mirrors regularly...& always have an escape plan! 4. Overconfidence and Speeding: Gaining confidence on a motorcycle is great, but overconfidence can lead to risky behavior, such as speeding or attempting maneuvers beyond your skill level.Take it slow and gradually build your skills. Stick to speed limits and ride at a pace that feels comfortable for you. RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE! Stay safe, gear up, and enjoy the ride! @@nicoleashley_moto I was looking for a new «pillion helmet» to my wife and just tested it on a one hour ride. It came right out of the box so probably a bit unfair to compare with my own worn in helmet. I can’t say that I didn’t like the changes, but to be honest they were only incremental changes and difficult to notice! Sure, god ideas to move the open/close tab and make the sun visor a bit larger, but personally I’ve had no problems with the old one. I think I was expecting clearly noticable changes and was dissapointed. And definately expected a lighter helmet (they are a bit heavier than some competetors) but the Air 3 is still a bit on the heavy side. Pretty good. Try practice counter leaning. I got really good at this by doing DoorDash orders in my bike haha. Good for parking lots.

    I watched this expecting some kind of failure. There was none. You had some hiccups and poor luck but handled yourself and the bike. This kind of thing happens to EVERY rider. See that big burly guy on an old Flathead Harley? He's had the same thing happen to him. Same goes for the guy dressed like Rossi on a GP replica. You did great and most of all learned how to do things more-better. Well done and have fun.
