I'm 27, and I'm thinking about buy my first bike this year. Just subscribe your channel.
DONT EVER GIVE UP KEEP MOVING FORWARD 💯💯💯
how do u really like the light??? I just ordered one I just hope it doesn't feel heavy on my helmet ..
I love it. I honestly don't notice the weight on my helmet. I just got my brother one for Christmas!
WOO U GOT THIS!! I gotta practice my slow speed too 😅
Your captivating screen presence got me to start watching, but that was an excellent review on the motorcycle also. I bought a 310GS just a little over a year ago to get back into riding again, and now feeling ready to upgrade. I've been eyeing the 800GS, as most of the riding I do is on pavement, but like exploring dirt roads occasionally. I'm hoping to test ride one very soon. I'm sure the dealer in Raleigh will give me a extra points if I mention I saw your video! :)
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I’m a female rider (coming from a harley) looking to purchase a new F800 and I wish there was more content on them! This was very helpful
Definitely need this product! You are very attractive!
nice review. i have a few comments. first, the start up button is no big deal. just press the button! the idea of a stick on extension is a good cheap fix. second, get over the need for all devices to charge the same. plug it in and charge it. third, i had to stop using it on my nolan helmet as the minor weight caused it to shift the helmet slightly causing a pressure point on my forehead. once i changed to a shoei helmet, that was no longer a problem. the issue i have is the sensitivity. my buddies who ride behind me say the lights don't regularly flash when i slow down or stop. i try to do both gently and the lights may not flash. a sensitivity setting would be nice since it would only be a programming change. otherwise, i use it as ATGATT.
I agree with the sensitivity also! I wasn't stopping "hard enough" to activate the light sensor at points during my ride and my boyfriend would point it out to me while riding behind me. That would be a great addition with a sensitivity setting for us slow brakers!
Congratulations from one BMW rider to another! And from one short rider (28” inseam) to another. I had a similar experience when I bought my bike. I just went to sit on a low suspension 1250 GSA, but it felt so good I ended up buying it. Then I had to ride it home. I was nervous because it was the biggest, heaviest bike I’d ever ridden, and by far the most expensive! But everything worked out fine. I really like the look and feel of the F800GS. I’m excited to see more of your adventures with yours. New sub!
Appreciate you being here! New adventures coming soon!
Thank you for a great video. I also ordered f800 2025. But it will be delivered to Ukraine not so fast now. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
For your power button, get some press on gems from the craft store or carefully glue one on to make the button easier to find and press with gloves. Old trick I have used for all sorts of similar issues.
Omg I should totally do that! Great idea!
I would advise to try a nice big windscreen for the GS. It helps massively with (against) fatigue on longer trips. Also helps with the cold.
I like the 2024 F800GS too. Ummmm ....you do realize that at the 2:00 minute mark in this video, you literally videoed yourself running a stop sign. LOL 😆
Soooo... Def a rolling stop 🤦🏼♀️. The problem is, my boyfriend gets to the stop sign so much faster than me and by the time I "catch up" he's already going through the stop sign and motorcycles riding together should be traveling through the stop sign together. We also talk to one another through our comm system to make sure it's safe to travel through intersections
@@nicoleashley_moto Ahhhhhh ....I'm not trying to be a dick, but that was not a rolling stop. There was no stop. And I'm not a cop or a lawyer, but you cannot travel through a stop sign together unless you're riding in the same car or on the same bike. So what you wrote is not a thing. This is not my opinion, it literally the law. So ....be careful out there! :)
A very cautious slow rolling pause, looking both ways before a gentle right turn out on a quiet country road? Geez. I've seen much worse.
Regardless of the bike, that BrakeFree helmet light is the best accessory that you can add for safety. Nice video- Enjoy!
It is definitely my favorite accessory... I never ride without it!
best thing for safety is being able to brake and swerve
Sorry, but it is a 900cc!
Haha! I did the same thing a few months ago! I took my msf course in May, having already purchased a bmw 310 gs with a lowering link. As my first bike, I found that very tall, so my husband ultimately installed the Touratech lowering kit to reduce the front and rear height substantially. I rode that little bike for the summer, got a decent amount of seat time and made sure I was hooked on the sport! In September we noticed a F800 gs Low for sale at our local dealer, it was a demo bike so had a few km on it already. We only went to "look", and see how it felt for my short little legs (I am 5' 2" tall, with 28" inseam). I sat the the F800 and was instantly comfortable and very much in love! I noticed the weight difference initially, but after a few minutes I literally did not notice it at all. This bike is amazing and I am looking forward to longer trips in comfort next season. I agree, this bike is also a "game changer" for me also. I will be following your channel and hope to see more about your experience on this bike. Enjoy!
The older f800gs was solid bike. The most boring way to put 85 hp to pavement. Good adv bike, fun on dirt roads and two tracks. To have for single track but it will try.
For years smaller displacement BMW motorcycles were powered by Austrian made Rotax engines, now like troubled KTM everyone rushing to the 3rd world for engine production.. soon what you think is Japanese or German will all be Chinese or developing world made, and these BMW motorcycles are rebadged and sold as other brands.. it's not the companies it's the consumers that keep shopping for price exclusively and don't care about where the bike is made, who made it and if they were paid
Wow thats a clean looking bike. What is the seat height on that gs? looks pretty slick at 3:25 and you still have the MT in the garage haha. I would have liked some POV footage of the cockpit and sound clips but video was really good quality over all. I kinda skip past the talking head stuff but Im sure its good info for other riders. It sounds like you are really happy with it so far and gives you good confidence in riding which is what its all about. Congrats on your new bike!
Thanks! I am really loving it. In my future videos I'll be sure to add cockpit footage and sound clips for ya! The seat height for mine is 30.7 inches. And that video from the garage is a bit old... Sold my MT03 a few weeks after buying the GS
@@nicoleashley_moto whats the mt03 to gs800 comparison? things you noticed, things you like, things you hate.
I wish that more people that rode motorcycles, knew about riding motorcycles
Cool!
When I first started thinking about riding a motorcycle, I was terrified. I thought it was too dangerous. It seemed reckless, risky, & unpredictable. For the longest time, I couldn't wrap my head around why people would willingly take that risk. But now, after becoming a rider, I realize I was missing out on something incredibly special. Fear is a natural reaction when something feels unfamiliar or out of control. I was overwhelmed by everything that could go wrong-This fear held me back, making me believe that riding was a dangerous activity reserved for adrenaline junkies. But I soon learned that with the right training & mindset, riding can be a safe & rewarding experience. What Changed? After I finally decided to take the leap, I enrolled in a motorcycle safety course. The training gave me the tools and confidence I needed to feel comfortable on the bike. Learning the fundamentals-how to control the throttle, manage the clutch, and brake safely-completely transformed my perspective. I wasn’t thrown into the deep end; I was gradually guided through the process of becoming a rider, and with that came the confidence to overcome my initial fear. Once I started riding regularly, I began to understand why people are so passionate about it. Riding isn’t just about going fast or being on the edge-it’s about freedom. It’s about that feeling of the wind rushing past you, the open road ahead, and the intense focus that comes with being present in every moment. For many of us, it’s about finding peace, balance, and a new sense of freedom. Riding taught me how to face my fears and push beyond them. It gave me confidence not only on the bike but also in other aspects of life. If you’re on the fence about riding, my advice is this: don’t let fear hold you back. Start slow, get the right training, and you’ll discover a whole new world waiting for you.
Hi guys! Anyone changed the little gasket? I got a brand new one but wondering which side sits to the pan and which side sits to the plug. They look like they are be made of aluminum, and there is a flat side and a round side. Tanks in advanced for your answer.
Lol the big f800gs. This was my dream bike. Can you do a review on it ?
That's my plan...I'm hoping to film today and get it out sometime this week...Stay tuned!

So, you’ve been riding for a while now, & you’re ready to take the leap from your beginner bike to something bigger and more adventurous...moving from a beginner bike to an ADV is a big step, but it opens up a world of possibilities. Here’s why ADV bikes are worth considering 👇🏼 But first, LIKE & SAVE 💾 this post for later. 1. Versatility: ADV bikes are designed to handle both on-road and off-road riding. If you’re craving more than just your daily commute or weekend rides, an ADV bike is perfect for long-distance touring, trail riding, and everything in between. 2. Comfort & Range: ADV bikes often have a more upright riding position, offering better comfort, especially on long rides. With larger fuel tanks and storage options, they are built for longer trips, giving you the freedom to explore. 3. Built for Any Terrain: These bikes are known for their off-road capabilities. Equipped with better suspension, higher ground clearance, and dual-purpose tires, they can take you through gravel roads, forest trails, or even rocky terrain with ease. When making the jump from a beginner bike to an ADV bike, there are a few key factors to keep in mind: 1. Weight: One of the biggest changes you’ll notice is the weight. ADV bikes are typically much heavier than beginner bikes. This can affect how the bike handles, particularly at low speeds. It’s important to ensure you’re comfortable managing a heavier bike before making the switch. 2. Height: Many ADV bikes are taller, with more ground clearance to handle rough terrain. Make sure to check the seat height of any ADV bike you’re considering, especially if you’re on the shorter side. Some bikes offer adjustable seats, or you may need to lower the suspension to ensure a comfortable fit. 3. Power: While beginner bikes usually have smaller engines, ADV bikes often come with larger engines, ranging from 500cc to 1200cc or more. Mid-sized adventure bikes (500cc-800cc) are great for riders who want more power but aren’t ready to handle a full-sized beast just yet. if you found this helpful, make sure to SUBSCRIBE ⬆️
Im 32 and am slowly seriously considering getting started on my own motorcycle journey 👍 glad i found your channel

They do teach you how to start on a hill...don't go to a bad course. 😂
Motorcycle Safety Foundations (MSF) courses are essential for beginners, covering the basics like throttle control, proper braking techniques, clutch operation, and countersteering. You'll practice slow-speed maneuvers, emergency stops, swerving, figure 8s, u-turns... By the end of the course, you'll know how to handle your motorcycle safely and confidently in a controlled environment. These classes lay an excellent foundation... BUT there are some things they don't teach & it wasn't until I encountered it on the real road that I realized I had NO IDEA what to do. But first, LIKE & SAVE 💾 this post for later. NOW, here it is... One thing they didn't teach me in my MSF course: STARTING ON A HILL! When you stop on a hill and need to get moving again, it can be intimidating. You risk rolling backward, stalling the engine, or losing balance as you manage the clutch, throttle, and brakes all at once. So here's WHAT TO DO: 1. Use the Rear Brake: While stopped on a hill, keep your foot on the rear brake to prevent rolling backward. This will give you time to manage the throttle and clutch. 2. Find the Friction Zone: Slowly release the clutch until you feel the bike start to pull slightly- You’ll want to hold the clutch in this zone while you start to roll on the throttle. 3. Throttle & Release the Brake: Once you're in the friction zone and have given the bike enough throttle, slowly release the rear brake. The bike should start moving forward without rolling back. If it feels like it’s going to stall, gently roll on more throttle. With these techniques in your toolbelt, you’ll be ready to handle any incline you come across with confidence and control. I wouldn't say Ducati is a beginner bike. 😅

Buying your first 🏍️ can feel overwhelming, but it’s also an exciting step in your riding journey! So I've put together a beginner's guide to buying a motorcycle to help walk you through the steps to ensure you find the perfect bike! But first, LIKE & SAVE 💾 this post for later. BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO BUYING A BIKE ⬇️ 1. Assess Your Riding Goals: FIRST, evaluate how you plan to use it. Are you looking for a comfortable ride for long highway trips, a nimble bike for city commuting, or something off-road capable for weekend adventures? Knowing your riding style will narrow down your options and help you focus on the bikes that fit your lifestyle. 2. Know Your Skill Level: It’s tempting to go for the most powerful or stylish bike right away, but for beginners, starting with a smaller, more manageable motorcycle is crucial. A lightweight, beginner-friendly bike will help you build confidence without overwhelming you. Start with something in the 300-500cc range. 3. Set a Budget: Your budget goes beyond the cost of the motorcycle itself. Make sure to factor in essential gear, insurance, and ongoing maintenance. 4. Test Ride for Comfort & Fit: Not all bikes will be a perfect fit for your body, so test riding is crucial. When sitting on a bike, ensure that you feel comfortable with the seat height/position, handlebar reach, and footpeg placement. You should be able to plant both feet on the ground when stopped. If you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to visit multiple dealerships to try out different models. You’ll quickly notice the ones that feel just right. 5. Prioritize Safety Features: Here’s what to look for in a beginner motorcycle: Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS): Helps prevent wheel lockup during sudden stops, reducing the risk of crashing. Traction Control: Adjusts power delivery to prevent the rear wheel from slipping, especially in poor conditions. Buying your first motorcycle is a big decision, but with the right preparation and research, you’ll be cruising the streets in no time!
Had to make a new vinyl sticker for my @cardosystems pack talk edge to match my new bike! Use code NICOLEASHLEY to get 10% off cardo products!
You got the right color!!
Thats good advice
THIS one thing absolutely kills my confidence on the bike 😩... not riding frequently enough. As a rider, consistency is key. Every time I go a week or more without riding, I notice a dip in my confidence.I start feeling hesitant, second-guessing myself & my abilities, and that smooth flow feels distant. The longer I go without riding, the more anxious I feel when I get back on. Anyone else feel the same?!?! Well, here’s the good news...your muscle memory is there to back you up, & with a few strategies, you can regain your confidence quickly. But first, LIKE & SAVE 💾 this post for later. • Start Slow After Time Off: The first ride after a break doesn’t have to be a big adventure. Find a low-pressure environment to help you get back into the rhythm without any added stress. Use this time to focus on the basics-throttle control, braking, and balancing-until you feel your confidence starting to return. • Trust Your Muscle Memory: Even after a few weeks off, your body remembers the mechanics of riding.Trust that! It may feel a bit awkward for the first few minutes, but you’ll notice that your muscle memory kicks in faster than expected. Practice some slow-speed maneuvers to shake off the initial nerves, and you’ll quickly feel more comfortable. • Ride in a Familiar Area First: Confidence comes from familiarity, so after some time off the bike, choose routes you know well. Familiar roads reduce anxiety since you already know the twists, turns, and potential hazards. This allows you to focus on your riding technique and ease back into the flow without worrying about unexpected surprises. Confidence is built through experience, so keep riding and keep growing.. & as always RIDE SAFE!

It's the weight that makes it easier to handle. My Duke 390 for some reason feels like it's on rails as it's always trying to stay up right compared to my 650cc which is 50kg more heavier and easier to turn and corner.
Yes! It's definitely easier with turns and cornering. I was very nervous to ride it home from the dealership, but as soon as I started going I immediately felt comfortable and found it a lot easier to handle!
Wth you talking about? Shorter between wheels and less weight is easier to lean

As a new motorcyclist, it's easy to get caught up in the excitement of riding with friends or joining a group ride. The thrill of the open road, the camaraderie of fellow riders, and the allure of speed can be intoxicating. HOWEVER, one of the most crucial pieces of advice for new riders is to "ride your own ride." This phrase, often heard in the motorcycle community, emphasizes the importance of riding at a pace and skill level that is comfortable for YOU! Here's why it's vital to "ride your own ride" as a new motorcyclist.. but first, LIKE & SAVE this post for later. 1• Safety First: Your safety should always be your top priority when riding a motorcycle. As a new rider, you are still developing the skills needed to handle various road conditions, traffic situations, and unexpected events. Riding beyond your comfort zone to keep up with more experienced riders or pushing yourself to match their speed can increase your risk of accidents and injuries. 2• Building Confidence: Confidence is key when learning to ride a motorcycle. However, confidence is built over time through practice and experience. Trying to keep up with more seasoned riders or attempting advanced maneuvers before you're ready can lead to mistakes, erode your confidence, and make you second-guess your abilities. 3• Learning Your Limits: Every rider has different limits that can only be understood through experience & self-awareness. By riding your own ride, you have the opportunity to learn your personal limits. Understanding these limits helps you develop your riding skills more effectively and recognize when you're ready to push your boundaries safely. 4• Enjoying the Ride: Ultimately, riding a motorcycle should be an enjoyable experience. By riding your own ride, you have the freedom to find your style and enjoy the journey on your terms. Whether you prefer a leisurely pace that allows you to take in the scenery or a more spirited ride that challenges your skills, the choice is yours. Embrace the journey of self-discovery and growth. For us female riders... (Especially us shorties) there are certain things you'll need to consider when purchasing your bike... First, make sure to LIKE & SAVE 💾 this post for later. Now, 3 things to consider when purchasing your first bike; • SEAT HEIGHT- this varies on bikes so find a bike with a lower seat height that you are comfortable with. (you don't need to put both feet flat on the ground, but make sure you can put at least your left foot flat while your right foot is on the rear brake.) • WEIGHT- you are likely going to drop your bike, especially as a beginner. Managing motorcycle weight is more about technique than overall strength. For your first bike, consider something less heavy • POWER- start with a bike in a lower cc class. Aire on the side of caution and gradually upgrade as you get experience. If you found this helpful, make sure to LIKE & SHARE with someone who may benefit from this!
