Hello and welcome. My name is Krista and I live in Vancouver, Canada with my husband Steve. You won't find any bikini posing under cascading waterfalls on this channel, just a couple in their early 60s still exploring and having fun.
I just started posting videos on my channel in 2023, but have kept a few travel blogs over the years. I have posted the links below to two of my blogs about Costa Rica.

Exploring Tomar: Portugal’s Best-Kept Secret
One of our biggest regrets during our 3-week trip to Portugal was not spending more time in historic Tomar. After the busyness of Lisbon and Porto, Tomar felt like an oasis of calm.
In this video we will visit the hidden treasure that was once the headquarters of the Knights Templar and is home to the stunning Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will also walk through the cobblestone streets of the old town, past medieval churches, charming squares, and along the peaceful Nabão River.

Walking in Porto, Portugal and falling in love with this city

We were looking for a bit of guidance for our visit to Porto, Portugal and so decided to follow Rick Steves' Lower Porto walk from his Portugal Guidebook. You could do the walk in an hour or so, but we took almost seven hours soaking it all in. Along the way we stopped at charming cafes, visited the beautiful Palacio da Bolsa, Sao Bento Train Station, Sao Francisco, and finally we ended the wal...

My most amazing wildlife encounter ever - kayaking with dolphins on the Sunshine Coast, BC
Переглядів 2913 місяці тому
Probably my most amazing wildlife encounter ever. On our last morning on the Sunshine Coast (British Columbia, Canada) decided to paddle up to the end of Bargain Bay. As we reached the end of the inlet we came upon a pod of approximately 50 Pacific White-Sided Dolphins energetically feeding and jumping. We watched them for almost 40 minutes. Thank you for showing this trail! I've never really explored the Pacific Spirit Park region, this seems like a fun short hike.
Thanks for watching. We love exploring Pacific Spirit Park, and it helps that we live close by. All Trails has some good descriptions and maps to trails in the park www.alltrails.com/parks/canada/british-columbia/pacific-spirit-regional-park

Thank you so much for letting me know. I've gone back and corrected other video descriptions as well where I made that mistake.
Awesome video ❤

Which month is this trip was done?
Thanks for watching. We were there at the end of December. Happy to answer any questions.
San Pedro, view Point. I was pickpocketed there last week
@@j1m2s so sorry to hear that, did you lose much?
@@notlostadventures Well, I lost my driver's license, passport card, 4 credit cards and 200 US dollars in EURO US in less than 12 hours in the country :-(
Thank you for the great video series! We plan to do the second half of you trip on January. We want to be a bit flexible with the timings but we are worried if we should book our accommodation in advance. From your experience, should we be able to just visit a town and find some hotel on the same day or we should try to prebook everything just to be safe?
Thanks so much for watching. The road trip was from December 5 -20 (high season) and we also wanted to be somewhat flexible and so only booked our accomodations about 1-2 days in advance. We didn't have any problems with booking places (mostly used Agoda) except we found that on the weekends things were a little more booked up. We had a hard time booking online for the village of Pha Hee and so just showed and found something pretty easily. Happy to answer other questions. Have a great trip, you will love northern Thailand.
Thank you very much for the information! I am sure we will have a nice time exploring northern Thailand, your videos have been of great help, thanks again! 😃
Welcome to Thailand sir🙏🏻🫶🏻💕🇹🇭💯🥊

Absolutely loved Koh Lipe
Hey - great to see you guys in Lisbon.
Love you from Karachi Pakistan
Thank you for this Video! How long do you recommend to stay in Pha Hi? Maybe 2-3 days?
Thanks for watching my video. Pha Hi is a very relaxing place and how long you stay depends on what you are wanting to do. If you are on a tight schedule I think 2 nights would be fine.
I'm protesting Lipe until they ban tuk tuks.
Hello from Van island! We love Koh Lipe too + are returning in Jan for 2 weeks
@@bluestarfishsea How wonderful. Enjoy your trip back to Koh Lipe.
Thanks for watching. We started from Koh Mook and took a 3 hour speed boat to Koh Lipe.
Im sorry I didnt understand from where you start for Kho lipe?
So lovely
Amazing!
Great video. Many thanks Can you tell me the name of the resort? I didn't catch it and would like to stay there.
Thanks for watching and your comments. Here is a link to our accomodation on the Mekong River. It was a little difficult connecting with them to make a reservation, but we were able to contact them using the "Line" app www.kiengkongresort.com/
I just got back from Thailand and toured this area, largely because of your videos. I took the overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, then started driving to Chiang Dao and onwards. I downloaded and used your maps to navigate and did the northern section from Mae Salong to the Golden Triangle. Then I went to Chiang Rai and then into Lao and did the slow boat. I had a reservation at the Ama Mae Salong, however about a week before I left, I got an email from them telling me that they had to cancel me because they were doing electrical work or something. Instead, I located the Wang Put Tan Tea Plantation which was not that far from Mae Salong. Let me tell you, it was excellent!! It was a little hard to find by car, but I convinced Google Maps to cooperate and I found it. It was gorgeous!! I think the place is mainly a restaurant, but they also have 7 or 8 cabins on the side of one the hills and the views were spectacular. So, for the (inexpensive) price of a room, you actually get your own cabin, complete with a deck overlooking the view. I think I booked them through Agora. If you are ever back in the area, you should check it out. Even if you just stop by for a pot of tea or a meal. And thanks for your videos and maps. You made my vacation!!
Heaven on earth😆
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻🙏
สวัสดีค่ะ🙏
watched all your trips in thailand. loving it! brings me back to memory lane. lovely captures and insightful
Thanks for watching and your kind words.
really like your videos! very informative, got to see lots and we have more places to visit. ANd a HUGE thank you for not just filming yourselves in every shot as so many dumb influencers love to do. So appreciated! We actually got to see where you were!
Thanks for watching and your kind comments. Haha, thanks also for for your helpful feedback on staying out of the video. It's always hard to know the right balance here.
I am going to Northern Thailand in July. I am using all your videos to figure out where to go. I notice a lot of people drop the S in Laos. Is that the correct pronunciation? Lao?
I am so glad you found the videos helpful. The lovely thing about travelling in July will be how green rice fields will be. I hope you have a great trip. In my videos I pronounced Laos with both the S and then dropped the S and I am still unclear which is correct. 🙄
You are a very charming tour guide. Do more! Thanks
So glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for your kind comment.
WoW! That's beautiful.
Is it safe drive, any big animals ?
tiger ?
Statistically, Thailand has a high rate of traffic fatilities, so it is less safe than other places. Mountain roads in the north are often quite narrow and twisty, people often pass dangerously. We were surprised at how well paved most of the roads were, and the traffic outside of major areas was quite light. I wouldn't hesitate to drive again. The only big animals we saw were some elephants in the river beside the road. They were not wild, but part of a sanctuary.
I have so been enjoying following your trip through Thailand! Can’t wait to visit the southern part of the country “with” you! As someone who really enjoys the smallest details of planning trips, I love your hotel room tours. Your videos are so enjoyable- keep them coming!
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and for your encouragement. I am so glad you enjoyed the road trip series. Ha ha I am like you, I really enjoy the trip planning process, sometimes almost as much as the trip itself.
Lovely tea plantation mountain views.
Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoyed it
