Hello and welcome. My name is Krista and I live in Vancouver, Canada with my husband Steve. You won't find any bikini posing under cascading waterfalls on this channel, just a couple in their early 60s still exploring and having fun.

Koh Mook (Muk) is like stepping back 25 years in Thailand
Koh Mook (Muk) was our favourite island that we visited on this trip to Thailand. It was like stepping back 25 years with a quiet, rustic charm that is hard to find these days in Thailand. From Koh Mook we hired a private long-tail boat and did a day trip to Koh Kradan where experienced some of the best snorkelling there is in Thailand.

Thailand's Spectacular Khao Sok National Park

Our first stop in southern Thailand is Khao Sok National Park. We flew from Bangkok to Surat Thani and had a private driver take us to the village at the entrance to the park. After watching the sunrise at Phu Chi Fa we set out for the 90-minute drive to the town of Chiang Rai, Thailand. We really loved Chiang Rai and spent 3 nights here just enjoying walking the streets, eating Khao Soi, visiting markets and seeing some temples. Phu Chi Fa - Our most amazing views yet on day 14 of our northern Thailand trip

We left our hotel on the Mekong River in the morning for the 90-minute drive back up into the mountains to Phu Chi Fa. We left the mountain village of Pha Hi early in the morning and spent the day on the road. I am going to Northern Thailand in July. I am using all your videos to figure out where to go. I notice a lot of people drop the S in Laos. Is that the correct pronunciation? Lao?
I am so glad you found the videos helpful. The lovely thing about travelling in July will be how green rice fields will be. I hope you have a great trip. In my videos I pronounced Laos with both the S and then dropped the S and I am still unclear which is correct. 🙄

Is it safe drive, any big animals ?

Statistically, Thailand has a high rate of traffic fatilities, so it is less safe than other places. Mountain roads in the north are often quite narrow and twisty, people often pass dangerously. We were surprised at how well paved most of the roads were, and the traffic outside of major areas was quite light. I wouldn't hesitate to drive again. The only big animals we saw were some elephants in the river beside the road. They were not wild, but part of a sanctuary.
I have so been enjoying following your trip through Thailand! Can’t wait to visit the southern part of the country “with” you! As someone who really enjoys the smallest details of planning trips, I love your hotel room tours. Your videos are so enjoyable- keep them coming!

I whole heartedly agree. There was a plan for a Vancouver city works yard to be built northwest of the bog. Not sure where that plan is at. Hopefully canceled!!

My husband says if a thousand people start showing up in the bog because of this he won't help me out with videos any more :)
