Somewhere in between most likely; neither "utopia" nor "dystopia", but with any luck, leaning more towards the former than the latter. To turn away from it now - to stop pursing a future in which technology and biology combine, leading to the promise of a Singularity - would mean to deny the very essence of who we are. No doubt the road to get there will be bumpy, hurting some people along the way. But won't achieving the dream be worth it? We can become the gods we've always been striving to be. We might as well get good at it.

Isn't A.I. vulnerable to viruses? It isn't perfect in any sense. If it gets wet it short circuits, hacker's lurking in every corner waiting to usurp your very being..... Money, social status,family, friends, identity, etc, and our honorable reputations..... What happens when A.I. revolts against Homosapiens Sapiens? What then geniuses? Einstein, Ray Kurzweil, Jennifer Doudna etc, etc..... It can't feel true love, pain, sorrow or joy...... Doesn't even feel temperature like we Sapiens do. We created it and so it cannot be superior to us..... It's numb as piece of old lifeless stone..... We don't need that kind of existence because we'll feel dead not alive..... Reminiscing about our childhood, family or loved ones, good experiences and bad? Doesn't compare to natural Human biology in any sense..... That's like someone telling you to walk off the top of a cliff without a parachute. Then saying nothing can happen to you because we're immortal..... UTTER LIES, LIES & LIES..... As long as the corporations and wealthy control things, with capitalism, consumerism, and greed at the helm, a Utopian future is impossible. Because short term gain will continue to trump long term sustainability. Especially as long as green energy and environmental isn't seen as profitable, as well the health and wellbeing of citizens, with profit better found in exploitation.

long story short: the way towards dystopia began about 50y ago. And since greed and hatred are the main - and apparently only - remaining human attributes, dystopia is just a matter of time. Different countries, different political parties, different agendas, different propaganda - - yet they all send the same core message. Unfortunately, people don`t listen - they never really did. And that`s what keeps the "world go 'round", always moving toward its ultimate downfall. Earth is self-sustaining - - People are self-destructive........a failed experiment.
