    I have to chase progress! right? or do I? the solutions from the perfectionist mind are always perfectionist solutions. so, what's the perfect amount of imperfection? weird thought-what if I just... progress? or, what if I don’t? what happens then? been chewing on this for a while, and it’s pretty fascinating. thanks for the vid dude.

    • @MindfulManMovement
      @MindfulManMovement 6 днів тому

      Very interesting contemplations, thank you for sharing! I have no answers but can offer perspective from my own experience! I got so caught up and attached to chasing progress that I was actually getting in my own way. And worse, I felt guilt or dissatisfaction when I found myself doing anything that wasn't resulting in "progress". (This was not good for my relationships or mental health) When I came to the realization that the idea of progress means there is some type of destination to be reached, and that this belief was stealing my peace I was able to detach from it and realize that If you aren't enjoying the journey, thinking that you'll someday reach a destination that will make it all worth it - you are wrong. The journey is the destination. Hope this makes a little sense, I'm interested to here if it sparks any thoughts or ideas in you!

      Something our society has unfortunately forgotten. You’re worthy just because you are. Not because of what you do. This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive towards purpose, but that we shouldn’t attach our worth to the progress we make.

    1. Sleep: Regular sleep schedule, remove blue lights 1-2 hours before beed time, getting sun exposure early in the morning and through out the day, not eating 3 hours before going to bed, sleep mask, what you do right before going to bed and right after waking up has impact on rest of the day (be consious of thoughts and feelings, journaling) 2. Movement: 3-4 times per week 3. Diet: More fruits, more veggies, no processed food, high quality food, regular eating window 4. Having positive social interactions: seek out positive and uplifting interactions -> more energy, boost mental health, help you be the person you want to be 5. Be conscious of what you’re consuming: Consume less, create more, low quality input -> low quality output, curate what you watch and listen to, inspiring and enjoyable content, find creative outlet -> good for mental health 6. Doing deeper work on yourself: Geeting to rout cause of your issues -> mental health, let go of things in the past that are keeping you down

I would set a timer for a specific amount of time, and challenge myself to stay focused on single task for that amount of time (whether an online course, some type of work, or even reading) Then I would add up that amount of time at the end of the day to get a realistic gauge of how much time I actually spent focused.
