    Why you didn't include the crazy dongpal Is it cause it's the same build quality and switches like the 308MJ?

      The biggest reason was the 15.3mm actuator is too small for most ppl. If you wanted a CDP I'd say go 309mj and then just get a dx bobbin + 15.3mm actuator.

    What would you recommend between a 309mj and a benylis 309mj both with the same tension grommet? Is it just the microswitches that are different?

    to this day…. no arcade stick out of the box is for tekken. etokki korean is the only one in existence and its only in south korea and doesn’t work on current consoles without a converter. Why?!!!? For 250 to 400 dollars i just want a korean lever/knee lever and decent sanwa buttons. I don’t understand why we can’t have one right out of the box??

    This is a great video I recently purchased the Alpha N, but i did not like the Omron switches. Yes, they are soft and responsive, but i prefer que Gersung, the dash and backdashes are more responsive in my opinion,

    Hey ! Two things -I brought a 47c a while back for my first lever and arcade shock sells a version of the 47c where the bat top DOES screw off (they also sell the glued on)…just an update if anyone was looking into that one but concerned about the glued bat top - are the premium levers in C tier because they aren’t good for your first lever? Or were you saying they are C tier overall compared to other premium levers on the market?

      309mj. I would always go for 49s over 47c as well just because the 47c forces you onto the sanwa bat top unless you change the shaft

    I was so confused with the collars before seeing this video, I have a victrix pro with a jlf with link 2 removable shaft. I wanted a bat top on it so bought a dx crown and was worried it would stick up too high but I think it will be fine now. Can I ask what the difference between a Korean lever and the feel of a jlf? I’m guessing coz I’m very new to levers it won’t matter to me right?

    • @geminirx7
      @geminirx7 3 місяці тому

      It definitely could still matter, these things are very person to person. JLF is more binary with a spring (you are pressing this direction/in this direction or not) K levers with a grommet are more like flexible. It's more gradual and like increases steadily rather than being on or off when you move the lever around. I hope that makes sense

    • @geminirx7
      @geminirx7 3 місяці тому

      I don't think it's a bad lever, but I wouldn't recommend it as a first. Not entirely sure where I would put it on the list. Also the body is a bit bigger than more "standard" sized levers like the 309 levers or Alpha levers so if your case doesn't have a lot of clearance (Hori Fighting Edge, Qanba Titan, etc.) then it might not fit.

  • @gindagema3884

    Question: Currently I have crown 309mj and Im curious about how knee lever neo feels since it has round square gate. Reason i ditched my hori due to gate so I am kinda worried about the gate of knee lever neo. 309mj im messing up diagonal input like u/f or b/d.

    • @geminirx7
      @geminirx7 3 місяці тому

      Execution will just come with practice, but you could definitely try changing levers if one would suit your preference more. The Kneeo is a bit interesting. I haven't played on one in a while but I don't really remember feeling any way about the gate. The throw of the Kneeo is longer than the 309mj. I prefer the mj just bc it's more standard and for myself it is easier to play on. The Kneeo might be for you though!

    • @CoolDima09

      Knee lever parts or Alpha parts should work but you probalby need the alpha actuator as well

    • @geminirx7
      @geminirx7 3 місяці тому

      You have a few options. You could replace Myoung parts with ASI parts which are a bit more pricey. You could put a Knee v1 shaft in, but I'm not sure how pleasant it would be since the Knee V1 shaft is like 7.2mm and the Myoung shaft is 9mm. I would try a Fujin shaft (the rev 2 is 7.8 & the rev 3 is 8.4mm) just so the throw isn't dramatically bigger. You would probably need to grab an Alpha actuator as well (15.5mm) but you could also try the 15.3mm that comes with the Alpha N. Fujin 8.4 shaft with 15.5mm actuator would give you a little more throw and might be better for your preferences.

      Sorry I was MIA on this channel for a long time. I think the Crown 309 is probably the best modding base because of the variety of actuators in combination with the different switches you can use. Generally though any lever will only be compatible with others parts of the same brand/company and even if they are made by the same brand/company it doesn't mean they are compatible. Would love to hear what route you went though if you decided to pursue modding. Sorry again for the late reply

      Sorry for the late reply, but it's just preference. My understanding is Full Collar were just what got used in the old KR arcades so they've just stuck around as the design. Things are moving towards low collar just because it's easier to fit in a standard arcade stick. If you like the full collar look you can stick to it, if you don't care or prefer low collar then you're not losing anything switching to low collar.

    Hi Gemini, I’m thinking of buying the NHM lever based on your and AlexNostalgix’ reviews. I want to optimize some of my dash motions in Tekken (especially instant while running stuff and fast forward dashing to back dashing). It would be my first Korean lever after having played on the Hori Hayabusa, which I felt was super loose (took forever to get back to neutral). Do you think the NewHelpMe would be a good option in my case? Should I get a few more higher tension grommets and does that help with a faster neutral? Thanks!

    • @geminirx7
      @geminirx7 2 роки тому

      You can instant while running on any lever with enough practice. I do think a NHM is a great option as a general lever and nothing about it would hinder you with your movement or while running moves. With regards to grommet tension, play on the grommet that's most comfortable for you. Even on the lightest grommets, you can get 1 frame returns to neutral. You're splitting atoms at that point.

      Whichever lever you feel most comfortable on. You can wave dash on any of these levers without an issue as long as like you've practiced & got your wavedashing down.

    Stopped listening when you said the 309mj had medium tension. 309mj stock comes with the lowest tension ST25 grommet which is similar to a stock sanwa jlf. :/

      Sorry, just saw this comment. 1. 25a is not the lowest tension for Crown levers, 20a is 2. if you go to focus attack right now, they only sell their 309mj with the 35a grommet. There are some that come with the 25a grommet but you can tell which is which by the number that comes after ST. In the screenshot I use you can see the lever is Crown CWL-309MJ-KMS-ST35 Joystick.

      @@geminirx7 I am very aware that 20a is the lowest you can go. But at stock ST-25 isn't mid. Also the ST-35 isn't the stock version of a Crown lever which is very misleading since the difference between the real stock crown lever and the ST-35 variant are worlds apart in terms of tension.

      @@TheControllerChronicler ST-35 is literally the stock version Focus Attack sells you right now. When I got mine long before making this video, they sent it with a 35a. I haven't seen one sold stock with a 25a in a long time. Several Crown levers sold with 35a stock (CDP, Benylis, 309k, and some places with the 309mj). I don't quite understand how you're saying it isn't stock when that's how vendors are selling it. When I do an updated & better version of this video I will be sure to include that you could get 25a or 35a depending on place. However, in this video you can clearly see that I am referring to a 309mj from Focus Attack which specifies that it has a 35a grommet.
