What do you need to see
Yes removed the spring first before I snaked it through the channel. Then re-attached the spring. I ended up using different springs as well. I broke the ones that came with the new cable. I think I have a UA-cam short video of that posted.
Wait please. Did you switch it up, so that the spring & cable are connected by a white string to the fishing tool? Took the ziptie out? It seems like you went right from "this isn't going to work" .. then fast motion & loud music & blurred spool of string .. to having the string coming out the back with the spring and cable attached to the string, ready to trim off the string? I take it you did this: took the zip tie off where it was connecting the spring & cable to the fishing tool .. then put string into the spring & fishing tool .. then pulled the fishing tool, string attached through the channel with the spring & cable? I firmly agree: none of any of the videos show the fishing of the spring & cable! So please help me understand what you did, please. Thanks.
Yes that sounds about right. I snaked the metal tool through the channel and then pulled the new cable backwards towards the rear. The white plastic pull I tried first was TOO LARGE. It would fit in the channel notch.

Found a great one on Amazon for $8.95, a reviewer said it's good for top drains too. I appreciate your Caddyshack-kinda humor. Got me to loosen up a little about my own puzzlement about what the hell I was doing.

That a Oldsmobile connecting rod 12 point nut ! Not a good thing to find in there ! Id be cheching the other 15 and find the missing one fast , b4 you start it and it kicks a leg out of bed !
Not sure where it came from but none of the rods were missing the nuts. 🤷♂️ weird right 😂
@@TruckThisGarage yeah , but that's definitely a rod nut ! Maybe previous rebuild dropped one or something .

@@TruckThisGarage Not that I can find there is a really big one outside of town but they do not have my van. For me, my van is a 1996 Dodge B3500, the passenger side triangle window was shattered when someone broke into it. Such a not fun part to look for.

I think a lot of ur problem is blade choice, to be fair some of the good metal blades are 80-110 bucks. So over all for the price if it came with the blade not bad.
Blade sold separately. I think blade was like 10$. Good idea on purchasing a better blade. That makes sense! Thank you
