Important note, if you have 0 mana available, it can break if your opponent responds with, for example, Swords to Plowshares once you tap to goad+draw+gain-red-mana, but *before* that effect resolves (that effect is *NOT* considered a mana ability, can be interacted with, and will need to resolve in order for you to get the mana, and for them to draw, so holding priority won't help you go-off here because you don't have the red mana from the effect yet, and they haven't drawn any cards yet). So as you make them draw, be aware they will be able to respond with anything in their deck provided they have the mana. Easy way to do some math: for every 1 mana you have available outside the crab mana(again, because they can respond after you tap the crab, but before the effect gets you the red you need), that is 1 interaction card you can "counter" by re-paying the freed from the real cost in response to the opponent's spell, and burying the spell in the stack. Keep in mind, unless you kill that player, once the stack resolves, that swords to plow shares, or the 2 other removal spells buried in the stack, will kill that combo. This deck *will* teach you the stack, guaranteed. PS: I love this deck and is my Commander for this purpose, and don't care about stability. Too fun to load the deck with 5 different combos, a bunch of blue and red bombs, and 15 counterspells.

this also works worth agatha's soul cauldron (first ability filters) and you can swap the aura for glimmerbell

You could make a morphon crab tribal. Morphon is the best generic 5 color tribal commander. It's a good place holder till we get a 5 color crab

Even if an instant targets your permanents while you are doing the combo, you can respond to the instant and keep the combo before the spell resolves. To sum, opponent can't do much once the engine starts

with a locus farm you can play dark depths pretty quickly but its still a lot of mana

decree of silence is an amazing cycle card for countering, as its not a spell when its cycled but the counter effect is played, and so cant be countered but with solemnity its ability is almost game breaking nice wall paper btw :)

So, I've been informed Battles do not work the way I explained with Solemnity + Enchanted Evening / Mycosynth Lattice. Similar to how I explained with Divine Intervention, the transform effect only triggers "when the last defense counter is removed", so it cannot trigger is it has none to begin with... per 310.11b. New stuff means lot of new weird interactions possible and learning :)

I'm still a little confused on what makes a super type, a card type and a subtype. So a subtype is a clarification for a type. A basic or snow is a super type, a land is the type, and mountain or sphere or gate is a subtype. But then what counts as a super type? for example if I play: legendary snow artifact creature - food dragon How many types, subtypes and super types does that creature have? And some typing are not considered a creature type but can be an attached to creatures, like food, clue and gold, or what about tribal and arcane? a tribal is usually associated to a creature type, but some types are on creatures but not a creature type, food and gold are printed on creatures, but they are artifact creatures. we could even mix even more like: Basic tribal sorcery - gold arcane

Now this is a great Tolsimir deck build! I have been struggling to make Tolsimir into a viable commander that I actually like to play.
