This is one of the best places I have ever been. It's an incredibly beautiful hiking tour leading up there. The last section is quite an adventure. But it's worth the effort. The Omu di Cagna, how it's called in the language of Corsica, is a true wonder of nature. And the view is absolutely spectacular. #hiking #wandern #nature #naturelovers #naturephotography

Biological forms turned to stone. This is noted throughout the realm. Humans creative ingenuity assembled beautiful and functional shelters. Stunning. All the blocks are perfectly carved and fitted. Are they blocks carried there from structures below? Are they made from an exotic concrete? It would be fun to find out how this stone got up the mountain and what the composition is. Why are the Oriu situated in the direction of the village? Out of a realization of belonging in the shepherd or other person who kitted it out. Like cats that love the house they live in they take some distance and look at their home.

Torture was a dramatic description, but close to the feeling. I did enjoy the vid after the piano torture stopped. Fascinating rocks and houses. Thanks for the nice photos. These "rocks" are petriefied giant ancient plants like falles trees and mushrooms etc. There where originally no rocks. Is in really plain sight if you will see.

I was 4 times in Corsica. Never ever saw this kind of house, but my first thought was also for shepherds. Thank you for this video. I am a very big fan of corsika, nearly fanatic. If you want an idea to a new video, than it would be the penis stones of Corse.

These erosion patterns are fascinating. Do we know what caused it?
@@ArnoWalter as far as I know, it's not 100% clear. For a long time, the explanation was chemical erosion, in this area through the salt in the air. But it seems to be rather caused by several mechanisms. This is, what wikipedia says: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tafoni

@@fv0815 ja, kann ich sehr empfehlen. Die Mauerlücke ist leicht zu finden. Die Koordinaten sind 41.52177N, 8.98732E Auf OpenStreetMap ist der Weg sogar eingezeichnet. Auch das Oriu di a Fossa ist etwas weg vom Weg und auf OpenStreetMap eingezeichnet. Ich habe zur Navigation die OsmAnd App benutzt. Viel Spass und lass was hören, wemn Du dort warst 😃👍
