She stepped out, blinking her eyes as she saw colors. Colors so... dull. The greens of the grass weren't growing, the blues of the flowers weren't dancing. The rays of the sun flickered as opposed to blazing. Was this the realm that was her home? Was this the land she came from, before she was snatched up in the wizened hands of Baba Yaga? It couldn't be... could it? But she immediately felt her soul settle for the first time in 20 years... or was it a century? The air smelled stale, the wind felt lukecold, and the birds chirped in a half hearted sort of way. She turned behind her, and her butterfly wings growing from behind her ears fell as she saw the portal back hom~ back to the Feywilde had already sealed up. Rather than the real world of dreams she grew up in, shimmering in the looking glass, was only now the oak tree she had stepped through. So, that was that then. This was her home now. It made sense, she supposed. She had to wake up, and no matter how much she already yearned for the dream, it was starting to fade from her memory. Turning back forwards, she squared her shoulders and stepped forward. Letting her quarterstaff and feet guide her down the path that felt so solid compared to the dancing days of yesteryear. The Feylost had returned to the world of men. As all Feylost are destined, in the end. No longer part of either world, they walk a road of rediscovery and awakening back into their old lives.
