@shadboy I managed wrestling for the same school when I was in high school 1993-1997. VERY few girls wrestled back then. While I didn't wrestle, the sport and community changed my life for the better and I knew I wanted to give back eventually. I introduced my kids to the sport at a very young age and it just stuck. Landen wrestled from age 5 through his 1st year of college. Elise wrestled from age 10 through her senior year. Nathaniel began at 5 and is still wrestling as a sophomore in high school. My younger 2 children have wrestled a few years also but have decided not to this year. I have helped run our youth years for many years now and have worked closely w the high school program through those years and became more involved Landen's 8th grade year when he started on the team and have had at least 1 of my own children on the team every year since. The program was at a place where we needed an assistant coach this year and having a female coach is beneficial as girls wrestling grows and a female is required to attend overnight events. Anyway, I never intended to "coach" but I'm honored to get to this year! We'll see what's in store for the next 2 years as they come. I don't do this JUST for my kids that I gave birth to but I truly love each and every wrestler who has worn the Knights singlet and try my best to be a positive role model and someone they know supports them.
nice pin, you should record the matches in HD 1080P like how you did in your other clips. this clip is in 480p ....1080p HD is way more clear and way better quality....thanks for posting
The mother's desire to hold her daughter is understandable. After all, this is a natural movement of feelings of parental love. But the question arises - what is this woman screaming off-screen teaching her daughter? Is this the correct behavior pattern for a woman/girl?..
She is clearly better at wrestling than he is. She seemed to pin him rather easily. They could probably wrestle 100 times and she would win every time…
She is definitely the better wrestler and athlete. My point is that at 170 this wouldn't matter if he had developed the strength a lot of 170 pound guy's have. As it was, he basically decided to forego having a big strength advantage, So the better WRESTLER won.
@@paulapreston1610 I saw that coming and thought, "wow, mom, you're outgunned!" But it ended well. I bet that went smoother when your girl was 8 instead of 18(?)!
Nice job, Elise. Are all girls in "235 class" right up against the weight limit or no? Elise looks bigger than other girl. Also is that the last weight class or is next one up "unlimited?"
@@paulapreston1610 wow, handles herself well. I don't know where her opponent is on scale of bad- average- good but she appeared to be no match for Elise. Even though the limit is 235, I have to believe a skilful 220-lbs, especially at a height (5'11") that allows a girl to be athletic at that weight, is too much for most entries in that weight class. Does it end for Elise in h.s. or has she considered college wrestling? More and more schools offer it but I expect the total percentage is small.
@teller1290 she had the opportunity to wrestle in college but chose a university that doesn't offer womens wrestling. She may decide to get involved in their club team.
@@paulapreston1610 I hope it all works out for y'all. Staying healthy and competitive when young is the main thing, though there are a myriad of ways to accomplish that. Cross fit, Jiu-Jitsu are also done fun but challenging activities. Anyway, she's got a great foundation to build on (mentally and physically) for whatever she chooses.
She is too strong for him!! She ate him for breakfast! But i think he is smaller and he looks weak! Anyway she destroyed him and he couldn't move her at all!
WOW! Elise is an absolute monster on the mat, that was amazingly quick, have to say Kudos to any opponent male or female with the courage to wrestle her
The male wrestler shouldn't have wrapped up with 6 seconds left when he had nothing to gain and everything to lose and could have easily sprawled to avoid the throw. The timekeeper also hit the referees back at least 2 seconds after time ran out. The ref was slower than most to go to the mat and which probably delayed the hypothetical pin-call which I think he realized and tried to compensate for by ignoring the time keeper's tap, but I don't think he realized that how late the time keeper was. One could make the argument she had a pin immediately, but most referees wouldn't have called it immediately and would have called it a 3-point nearfall. It still should still be a 6-5 victory on points for her, but my goodness what a display of amateurism from all others.
So impressed with Elise. Not a lot of girls wrestling in the higher weights so she is mainly wrestling guys at this point. Also unlike some of the lower weights these aren’t pre pubescent boys anymore they are men, Her skill power and tenacity just overwhelms them. Elise is a wonderful example of pound for pound girls women are just as good at the guys and in her case better 💪
I'm curious did mama wrestle & kids following her footsteps ??

Perfect. Boys who lose to girls don't deserve to touch a wrestling mat. This is how it's done.

You dont realize how strong a guy van be at this weigjt if he is really motivated to train. Maybe he got sick or injured and couldn't train.

This is the heavyweight division in high school here in VA. The weight class goes from 187 to 235. Elise is 5'11 and 220 currently.

Too much Elise power and skill for this capable boy wrestler
He was so much stronger, but she was strong enough and very skillful.

Being a tall muscular guy and still get beaten by a woman is so humiliating!!!!!
