This channel is about my adventures in and around the Lake District. From wild camping to mountain bike adventures.
WILD CAMP BAIL OUT
A dramatic end to what i thought was going to be a successful quiet night of wild camping in the Lake District. It goes to show you can never tell.

Risking it all Camping between the storms
Переглядів 1,1 тис.День тому
With this biggest storm just the day before and another storm on its way. I decided to get out and hope the second storm comes in two quickly. I talk more about my gear and how I unpack and organise my tent. I also try out some new dried food and try and get a nights sleep.
Wild Camping just got better: The best Sunrise I have seen in a while.

This camp was just a quick low one but was all worth it for the sunrise. Check out my vid for the sunrise such lovely colours. The Camera didn’t do it justice but still worth a watch.
Winter Wildcamp up Walla Crag in the Lake District
Переглядів 425Місяць тому
With the up coming weather news of a snow storm coming I head to the hills for a winter wild camp. Pitching up at dark with no sign of snow and waking up to a winter wonderland. Wild camping in the Lake District just got better snowy mornings and clear views.
Review Time: The True Plasma Lighter
Переглядів 278Місяць тому
This is about a new product i am trying the True Plasma lighter at first i thought it was a gimmick but i am truly sold on this product. Its one lighter you can rely one even in windy conditions. You cab even light the MSR wind burner which will only light with a gas flame. A true powerful lighter that rivals its competition.
Borrowdale on a bike

This is something slightly different. This is a few clips form the descents from the MTB ride down borrowdale. Locally know as the Borrowdale bash.
Xmas Wild camp
Переглядів 127Місяць тому
This my first wild camp back after my operation. I was a bit nervous to start and took way too much gear but at least i was prepared for anything.
Lake District Guided Walk: Castle Crag and Millican Dalton Caves
Переглядів 1383 місяці тому
This is a guided walk up castle crag the smallest wainwright. This is a loop walk from Grange in Borrowdale and goes along the river Derwent up to castle crag and the loop down to the river again and follow back down stream to Millican Dalton Caves.
Channel update, where have i been.

This is a channel update sorry for the break in wild camps but the channel will be back to normal very shortly. In the meantime here a short update.
This wasn’t my fist choice but it worked.
Переглядів 2943 місяці тому
Sometimes solo wild camps don’t go to plan this was my backup plan and it worked. When walking up to a pitch i always make a backup plan further down this time the wind got the best of me so i decided to go for a lower pitch next to a beck.

Awesome sunrise Andy. Thanks for the Sub 👊
No problem 👍
@ Top man
Great video Andy, we are so lucky to have trails like this on our doorstep 🔥
Couldn't agree more!
Bad luck mate! Cant win them all eh haha. Hope you're keeping well lad :)
Thanks mate all good mate.
The sleeves are too long for humans. Aint paying 300 bucks for this man
They are quite long
It's IPX6 water resistant.
Yes with the cap on
Looks like you pitched it broadside to the wind, is that right? Do you think the zip would have failed if you had pitched nose on? Did the direction change at all?
No it was pitched end into the wind it looks like it’s broad side as the wind was pushing down so hard
man, that’s savage.
@@lost_in_TheLakesman, that's savage.
in the beginning u say it's g-1000 fabric, but it's not! As u say a little bit later in the video it's fabric that's left over from other things they made. The fabric is called vinylon f-fabric. As it says on their website.
Well spotted yes sorry I was wrong in the video it is indeed Vinylon F: 100% vinylal
I had the exact thing happen to me in the helm 2 a few years ago mate. I prized the zip open and re-aligned but it kept slipping so had a new zip put on.
did they cover it with the warranty?
What is it with terra nova and the zips, i also had a brand new laser as compact break the zip first outing, i seem to be saying this alot, but you really get what you pay for and while the hilleberg is 2.5kg you can loose the weight wlse where. My full kit with food and water for tomorrow is just over 8kg.
yes it was. the hilleberg would of been fine
@@lost_in_TheLakesI didn’t try mate cos it was about 4 year old at the time
@@lost_in_TheLakes i got a refund on the tent,
At a gathering of close friends, I found that more and more friends began to pay more attention to personality and stories rather than simple brand labels. Inspired by this, I began to explore bags that can reflect personal style without being too expensive, and kislux helped me find a bag that suits my taste. This bag is both low-key and cheap, and there is really nothing wrong with it.
You should try this bag it works really well for its intended use
no hat andy? you must be freezing
Nope
So you ascending reminds me of how glorious the Lake District is but equally how hard even the slightest incline actually is in reality!! :-)
yes it is
Cracking video mate, another belter. Have a corker of a weekend 😉👍
Thanks mate
Having just bought a sand Soulo like yours, I found your video very useful, particularly how to organise the tent - great to see how another UA-cam camper actually packs and uses their equipment, thanks. Duly subscribed to see future adventures.
thanks for the sub.
You should get an insulated cosy for your meals keeps them hot while they rehydrate i got 1 from quint craft but other companies do them they work a great
never thought of that thanks for the advise
Tesco porridge pot 50p, ready in 4 mins. What's not to like...
loads cheaper but have they got as much calories when walking in the fells I always wonder if a pot noodle would cut it for nutrition
200Kc each, so buy 2 decant them into a small bag and just add to boiling water, oh and I've just checked they are 43p not 50p 😊😊
bargain get 3 and your up to the 600k that firepot say there are at a fraction of the cost
Yes absolutely, I often have 1 for breakfast at home so 3 would be more than enough. My top tip is add plenty of cinnamon before making it, absolutely delicious 👍
Watching from Ukraine 🇺🇦 Keep up man
Thanks very much for watching
Well worth the cold for that sunrise.
certainly was mate
he is talking over minutes about the colors, but with his lights its a mess.
I am
I looked at a lot of backpacks before deciding to kislux their bag. I'm so glad I did. This is a beautiful backpack that looks well made. I bought it for an upcoming trip and am so excited to have it. It only took a few days to get here, so the shipping was fast. I highly recommend it and will buy again. It also makes a great gift.
Thanks for sharing!
I purchased an kislux bag in 2022, and I can confirm that it is very high quality. The owners were very nice, too! I may purchase another bag from them the next time!
Thanks for the comment
Thank you - really informative, & beautifully filmed 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
You walk past my house at the beginning of this video mate , never seen ya haha
hahah always going up that way
Looks awesome Andy
It was wish I had a better camera for it
@ awesome capture 📸
Judging by the lack of snow on the night and the dusting in the morning, I’m guessing this was the same night I was up on Bleaberry Fell behind you ( last Friday)
I was up on the Saturday mate if you need a WTW for the pitch let me know
Brilliant video mate!
Thanks a lot!
Great video 🙂👍

Yes just having a break will be getting one out soon
@@lost_in_TheLakes Great - Looking forward to it - Happy Christmas !
Nice hands on review. It really does the job of reviewing in real time with a real scenario. Can’t beat Talky Toaster for mapping. You convinced me. Upgraded to the 67 for 66 for battery and extra satnav precision. Thanks.
great stuff

@@lost_in_TheLakes Thort so it looks like we're . Andrew from lake District camping with ace. has gone. Do you do much winter ❄️ camping ⛺

@@lost_in_TheLakes it's cool to cold 🥶🥶
I have just landed here came fromy friends UA-cam channel. Lake District camping with ace. He put a link to your site. Send some people your way. As he like sto help people get there channel up and running.
Great stuff thanks for the comment it all helps.
I use my kislux as a work bag and have had no issues at all. Itâs a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadnât lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and donât carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interio.
The Greenland has everything in is nails screw and drill bits
Before you lay out that kind of cash, you'll want to be checking the dimensions carefully. That thing is TINY. Unless you're a hobbit, it's best to view it as a large bivy rather than a full-sized shelter. Any by all accounts, ventilation is poor and condensation is a problem.
Ijagmt had an issue with ventilation but it’s certainly on the small side.
Have you had much use with this? How’s it holding up? My only concern would be the way those handles are connected I actually seen one for sale as spares repairs with the top part of the handles disconnected.
Yes not As much as my other stuff but it is holding up. Probably used it about 20 times now
For a long time, as Chanel prices have risen, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have a kislux as a travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one would have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
No problem
Ill be buying the 67i soon mate so great to see your video. Also ive only ever used talkytoaster, there the best maps in my opinion as they dont go blurry when zooming in and also the price.
Yes that are the best
Looks like you got tangled by ashley bro.I do enjoyed your vlog. Nice one.
It was a bit windy up there thanks for the comment
Superb mate. Wish I'd been up there 👍
It was good fun
keep goin 👍
Thanks
Why No hat? No protection for your ears ? I usually have to wear a Buff over the ears in high winds and gusts. And no gloves either? Your a brave man 🙂 great video 👍🏼
Thanks for the tips!
