Short composition for riq, frame drum (Tar/duf/bendir) and darbuka
I have created this little composition as an example of what we can do in the Percussion Ensemble project I am cooking up...The idea is to have people that already know how to play a percussion instrument from the Middle East, Turkey or the Balkans and play together traditional repertoir and original compositions written by me (Elizabeth Nott).

Developing ideas into weaving various rhythms in 10 and 5 and improvising on top of that with the Riq. Instruments: Tar/duf played upright and lap style, riq and maracas.

7 days of the week 7 initial planets 7 circles to create the Seed of Life 7 petals on the starflower Heptagonal Muqarnas Dome... I love 7 beat rhythms...and as like many other meters, you can weave different 7 beats into different phrases and dialogues... This is my second attempt into making a "video clip" for my music... Sorry for the very amateur look of it.

Simple tune based on Wahda

Exploring sounds around the rhythm Wahda played very simply with some simple variations. A Garage Band Groove loop was added to spice it up... Made it "comic-like" to not look too serious haha.
