It's a kind of cruel irony that...because of the nature of the grief and anger in this scene...trying to punch your "manly" button in an effort NOT to cry...only makes it harder to not cry. Because it's not masculine to avoid crying...it's masculine to be tough enough to not give a shit if someone sees you crying when you SHOULD be crying. A father abandons his son...AGAIN...to his face this time. And the one man who stuck by Will, is still there for him when it's over. His REAL dad. There's no way for anyone with even a hint of a healthy concept of masculinity to not cry at something like this. Or anyone else, for that matter. You can see how Phil is so PROUD of Will here...even as his own heart is breaking for the boy. Proud of the life Will has made for himself, proud of his resolve to continue to grow and be better, proud that he's not letting Lou drag him down even though it must be agonizing to go through this again.

My theory is that Martín Payne and will smith the character from the fresh prince and Martin show are half brother they have the same father named Lou smith what you think

If I were Will Smith, I’d probably try to beg his father to beg for his forgiveness because he CHOSE to not be in his life at all. So, his father, Lou, has put fatherhood to shame because HE CHOSE not to be in Will Smith’s life, he said that he was scared; that’s bunch of B.S. because u can either choose to be in your child’s life or not, and he Chose not to be in his life because of some business he had to handle.
