I am in sales, sales are slow! People are broke- collectors are pulling back. I spend about $4-6K a year on toys- we are out there bro,just hard times.

You're really asking for trouble if you start shipping your online sales without boxing them. You're already making an assumption that it isn't an in-box collector on the other end, and any that are will immediately be displeased by the lack of shipment box. And the moment anything's wrong with an item that's the first place most buyers will go when they receive it. Think of it from the perspective of the customer. If they see you packed it well, but it's still busted, then they assume the handler mistreated it. If it just has paper on the outside and it's dented in - then YOU set it up to fail in the first place. My own personal experience with this - BBTS/Entertainment Earth/GameStop - always in a box that has a little space in it and always padded with void filler (bubble wrap, packing paper, etc) and always arrive in the condition they left the warehouse, even if the shipping box is damaged. Hasbro Pulse/Walmart/Target inside boxes of all sizes, usually too big with room to roll around, rarely padded well - if at all- and rarely arrive without being beat up inside a crushed box. Guess which set of retailers I buy from first if I have the option. The rule of thumb with many of the eBay sellers I've learned from is 'if you don't feel safe throwing your package across the room, you shouldn't feel safe with letting USPS/UPS/FedEx handle it, because that's how their people are going to treat it'

That is awesome. Gotta love customers that come in and do there big shops. Plus those that all come in groups. I always tell people this is not an airport you, you don't have to all come in at the same time. Maybe you need to partner with one of those groups that donate toys for kids at Christmas. People can buy a toy for for kids in need and you could give a discount on a future purchase? Gets your name out there and people do good and get that gift they need for there kids too.

Looking good. Great to see the window area cleared out. That window sill is a great place for those type of things that are hard to display. Hope you get many sales on the $4.99 stuff. Good to see more of the items are able to get onto the shelfs, means you are going through what you have and making way for the new stuff.

Congrats on the new employee! For WhatNot I have seen some people have a hard time if they do not have a strong following on the app or social media so I would manage my expectations and be okay with most items going for a couple bucks.

Congrats on getting on the boss train. Whatnot is a good idea. It gets your name out and gets rid of items you have lots of or items that are those that need the right person that wants that item. You never know if you will get a bidding war but all depends on who you get that day on the stream. Never looked for toys on there but I have done Funko. Sure you could do a day of those and maybe get rid of a bunch that way too. The $4.99 area by the till is a great idea. Get those impulse buys. Could do each of the sections with one price point. Maybe a section of $7.99 and $9.99 will get some more items though the cash.

With Bouncing Peas, which may have birthday parties, thoughts on having a small quantity of gift wrapping bags, gift tissue paper, and wrapping paper? I imagine there would be little to no margins, but it would be more of a service to your customers. More of letting people know this is your one stop shop before arriving to a kids party at Bouncing Peas or any other event.

Gotta love customers like that. I think Christmas is fine to put out. Halloween is not really a toy holiday unless you have more of those dresses or those dinosaur heads if they are still around. Maybe put one of each of the Lego head buckets at the cash so people see them, maybe it will spur them to grab one.

You've said it several times yourself in these videos - the stuff sells much better if you display it right. Getting the product off the floor is good for visibility and for the shopping environment in the store. The sweet spot I found is basically between 2ft off the ground and 6ft. Gets the best visibility and reach for the most broad range of shoppers. I always focused on the middle of that zone first and then flexed up and down with lower quantity or bulky merch so that the most of the product was in the easiest reach as the customer browsed

My only non-positive review on eBay so far was a neutral due to the post apparently crushing the package. The guy never reached out to me about it, and left the neutral quickly after he received the package. Shot himself in the foot. It was a $52 item and the shipping insurance would have covered him if we'd filed a claim. Beyond that, I still had another copy of the thing that I could have even replaced it. But he chose not to tell me what happened and to leave a feedback on me due to USPS' screw-up. Annoyed me even more because he'd bought it on a Friday night and I spent over an hour in line at the only post office open the next morning because I didn't want my buyer to have to wait an extra couple days if I shipped it on Monday. In the end I figured since it's a Neutral it doesn't affect my 100% rating, and it said it was left due to post office damaging the item so other buyers would see that and not hold it against me. I decided to go ahead and leave it and get my first non-positive out of the way. So I blocked him from future purchases, kept his money, and moved on. Sold two items within the next few hours of him leaving that feedback 😆

Have you found that your effort taken on ebay orders is worth it over just focusing on your store?

Last year Walmart had 50 gallon tubs with wheels on one end. Might be an idea for your backstock if you can find them somewhere. They've been out of stock for a few months, but the Walmart ones were about $40. Much easier to move than the garbage bags. And you could stack them in the back room to utilize the vertical space and keep a pathway in the floor more easily. Would just be a matter of whether they could hang the corner to get in that back doorway.
